You're describing the exact scenario I ran into when I used the Colt mag platform. It ran great for years and then started to have random FTF problems. It's why I ultimately switched to a Glock mag PCC.
I called Metalform in Rhode Island and got a bunch of replacement mag springs when I ran the Colt 32 round mags. Here's the contact info: https://metalform.us/contact/

For flat triggers options for a Witness Elite Ltd I found Henning's ($110) and the Eric Grauffel Xtreme ($80). Any others available in the US?

I use Glock 33 round mags with these Taran Tactical +10 extensions: https://tarantacticalinnovations.com/10-ultralight-base-pad-for-glock-pcc-9mm-30-31-33-round-oem-magazines/ No problems. Lots of posts in this sub-forum about PCC mag extensions.

I use Hornady One Shot ultrasonic cleaner in my Harbor Freight unit and I'm happy with it.

I've also shipped it to the hotel I'm staying at. No problems.

Chet sells his own slide rackers. The conventional rod type and a version that is part of a red dot mounting plate. You can see both versions in his gallery. Give him a call.

I sent mine in over a year ago, and it's been great. Trigger pull was reduced to 1# 14.9 oz, 10 pull average. It's as close as you'll get to a 1911 with a striker fired gun. I did replace the original Legion trigger he modified to eliminate the over travel, with an Armory Craft "Slightly Curved" Trigger. It has adjustments, so I was able to eliminate the over travel to be the same as with the modified Legion trigger.
Here's a video I posted a while back on the trigger action after the SA Comp job...
What was the trigger pull weight before you sent it to TSA?

I have 8 21rd. mags with TTI bases, stock spring and follower, and get 23 reloadable. I use a LULA on the last round, but I can do it with my thumb if I want to. Don't want to do it all day though.
Which TTI base pad?

Average of ten trigger pulls is 3 pounds, 7 ounces right of the box. Pretty impressive for a striker fired gun with no trigger mods (yet) and not even broken in.

I run my offset mount behind the primary topic with this Truglo 45 degree mount: https://www.truglo.com/45-offset-red-dot-sight-mount/

Another vote for the Pro Chrono DLX. And download the free desktop and/or mobile app. I had to buy their Indoor Lighting system to get consistent results.

Planning on just using it for barrel / comp on and open gun, perhaps small parts when detail break down.
Anybody use the harbor freight one? For a once in a while cleaning, will it hold up?
I've used the HF 2.5L model for 4 years with no issues.

According to the FAQs on RIA's website, you can purchase replacement springs here: https://advancedtactical.com/parts/1911-parts/springs.html

I bought some dawson sights for my Gen 5 G34, but they have rounded corners. For some weird reason, my eyes pick up rear sights better if they are fully squared off, like this CZ Custom sight I have on my SP-01 Shadow.
Does anyone make a rear sight like this for a Glock? I'm searching but failing to find anything
Just remember, square corners are more likely to draw blood when you rake your hand over the rear sight when quickly clearing a jam.

I think this article in USPSA Front Sight magazine by Steve Foster is a great explanation: https://stevefostershooting.files.wordpress.com/2018/07/uspsa_magazine_julyaug_scclassification.pdf

Fingernail clippers work great for a nice precision cut. Don't make the ends too small or your fiber will come out after a number of shots, usually in the middle of shooting a stage.
And usually in a level III match.

Want to try green instead of red fiber rod.
Wonder how it can be installed correctly. I can melt one rod end to the ball shape, cut appropriate length, insert into front sight and melt again other end.
Thinking to make closest rod end as flat as possible for bigger output fiber area. Probably can use soldering pencil with polished tip, this way rod's surface will be more like a flat mirror instead of ball shape.
Any ideas?

CF revolver for SC
in Steel Challenge
Posted
I bought my TRR8 in 2012 for USPSA, ICORE & Steel ISR/OSR. I also bought a 2nd cylinder and had Tom at TK Customs ream it so I can shoot 38/357 and 9mm by swapping cylinders. Plenty of info in the BENOS revolver forum. 38 short colt is a great option for steel ... it feels like shooting a 22. Can't go wrong with either option, there's about a 9-10 ounce different between the 627 & TRR8.
