  1. If the skyscreens are using infrared light, why would the florescent lights interfere?
  2. Will they work in a room with florescent lights on?
  3. 3.5 grains of Titegroup with an 180gr Berry’s works well for me also. Anyone have a 165gr bullet load using TG or 700X they like?
  4. I was wondering the same thing.
  5. I have used small rifle primers in pistols quite a few times but the fact they are listed as “#205 Small Rifle AR Match” makes me wonder if they would be harder than standard small rifle. The price was $28.99 per thousand but it’s up to $34.99 now. That’s not such good a deal anymore so I’m just going to pass.
  6. Anyone use them in a pistol? Cabela’s has them on sale and I was thinking of buying a bunch. I’m going to assume the fact they are named “AR match” means they may be harder than standard small rifle.
  7. I have been using xtream for the past year. The price is comparable but they claim to have thicker plating, .012 to .014. I have no idea if its thinker then xtream or not or if it’s comparable to xtreams heavy plate.
  8. Anyone use them? They sound nice and the price is right. I’m thinking of trying their 115gr 9MM . http://www.shop.rmrbullets.com/9mm-115-Grain-Round-Nose-RMR-Hardcore-Match-Plated-1000-Count-9mm-115-RMRTP-RN-1000-Ct.htm;jsessionid=2EC0D8D0D5517F1789C6E023C40356E6.m1plqscsfapp02
  9. Wouldn't this indicate some other issue other than just soft primers? They run fine on factory ammo or with the 41 primers. Never had any other issues other than my reloads without 41 primers. ARs have a true floating firing pin. No retaining springs. I have never had any slam fire with any of my AR’s with any of my reloads with many types of primers from several manufactures. If you are having constant, repeatable slam fires then I would say you have a rifle problem.
  10. In the USCA rule set Hot Reholstering is "safe" but putting a pistol on safe and dumping it in a bucket without clearing it is a match DQ...... Good to Know But at the matches at Peacemaker they are allowing dumping without clearing as long as it’s on safe and de-cocked if applicable.
  11. Update on what to expect at the match. 500 yard targets! What the hell did I get myself into.
  12. Before this ranking system came out I could fool myself into thinking I was good at SC. This has removed all doubt and I now know just how much I suck.
  13. *thumb rest [generic]* That is strange.
  14. The matches I shot at Peacemaker did not allow hot holstering. USCA allows for hot holstering but Peacemaker is a little risk adverse. I don’t know if that will be the case for a national shoot or not. The rifle must be slung at all times even if a pistol only stage.
  15. You need to be a USCA member to shoot but membership is only $9.95 right now. At the last match I shot at Peacemaker the longest target was 385 yards. Someone posted YouTube vids of the matches so you can take a look a see what you think.
  16. Looks like I have plans this May. http://www.uscarbineassociation.com/index.cfm?action=info.nationalchampionship2015
  17. Not sure how much it weighs. Here is the one I have. http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=793167&CAT=4877
  18. Would you guys still recommend a 13lb spring if using a Lone Wolf lightened slide, or something else? I’m mainly 147gr minor loads right now.
  19. I went ahead and got the Blade tech at Midway because they are on clearance. I picked up the carbon fiber one for $52 delivered. Other colors where a few bucks less.
  20. What open holster options are available for the 92/M9? I notice that Blade Tech has the pro series. Is it a good one? Anything others?
  21. I will give it a try sometime. Right now I’m in between presses, sold my 550 and saving up for a 650 but I will give it a go when I get a new one.
  22. You may not "need" it, but it sure does make life easier and the pros outweigh the cons for using lube with carbide dies. I don’t see how it makes it easier. Seriously, I’ve have been reloading for 30 years now and have never used lube on carbide dies. I used to be the same way until I tried a little Hornady One Shot on my pistol cases. I've been lubing my pistol brass ever since. (Loading on a Dillon 650) Yes it makes it easier but for me anyway that's not the real advantage. The primary advantage is how smooth the press runs when I lube my pistol brass. A smoother running press simply creates more consistent ammo. It's as simple as that for me. FYI, I don't bother removing One Shot from my pistol ammo. I use a light coat and most of it is removed by simply handling the ammo although I have been known to toss a batch or two into the tumbler with some corn cob for about 15 minutes. Rifle brass get's tumbled after processing the brass so there's no lube on the case when I drop a bullet in. That makes sense. You may not "need" it, but it sure does make life easier and the pros outweigh the cons for using lube with carbide dies. I don’t see how it makes it easier. Seriously, I’ve have been reloading for 30 years now and have never used lube on carbide dies. Well, have you tried lubing cases with your carbide dies? If so, you might soon see how it could make it easier. Honestly, it shouldn't be too hard to imagine how rubbing a dry piece of brass against a carbide face versus rubbing a lubricated piece of brass against the same carbide face should be easier. I understand it would make the case size easier, I was referring to making the reloading process easier as a whole. If you have to add spraying and cleaning brass to your reloading process how much easier are you making really making it. To me it sounds like your adding more work.

  24. I use carbide pistol dies and don’t need lube.
