No it should not. It sound like you need to seat it deeper. At least that's the case with my EGW gauge.

Stuck the comp in the mill and drilled out the holes a little bit. Seems to be working fine now.
-
I took a closer look at it today with a bright light and sure enough I'm getting a strike on the last baffle. It's so light I didn't notice it. Thanks for the help.
-
I'll take a closer look tomorrow. Maybe I missed it.
-
No baffle strikes. I'm not sure what align the ream is but I installed it according to the instructions on SJC website.
-
No, but as soon as I took the comp off were very tight and consistent and the first round wasn't 8 inches lower than the rest.

I’m having issues with my Glock 17 with a KKM barrel and SJC comp. At 15 yards I would often get the first round 6 to 8 inches below the “group” if you want to call it that. The Group would be large, 4+inches, and inconsistent in on where it hit, changing from one range session to the other. As a last resort I pulled the comp off and the gun shoots nice tight groups. The comp was not touching the slide, I made sure of that. Any ideas?

They just had S&B's on sale last week.

Even in the great primer shortage $48 would be on the high side. I think the most I have ever paid for primers was around $40 shortly after Sandy Hook. $48 now days? I cant imagine them sell very well. Hell, you could order a thousand with haz-mat for that price.

My Brownells LW carrier came in today. Looks good. Light weight, nice finish, and well staked Key screws. Not chromed lined but the the bolt is MPI'd. I should have a chance to try it out tomorrow.

Use code M3P for $10 off and free ship. With the "good guy price" it's $100.97. I cant pass it up for that price.
-
It comes in shiny coating also for $140. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/bolt-parts/bolt-carrier-groups/m16-lightweight-bolt-carrier-group-5-56x45mm-nitride-sku078000407-116267-214089.aspx

Hornday LnL AP. The same when I use the standard primers.
-
New for Brownells.
-
I tried some Fed SPM but they were not as reliable and the standard.
-
Picked up some Federal SPP at the gun show today for $30 per thousand. I also grabbed some Fed Mag SPP to try. Hopefully they work well giving me options.
-
How do you like the Fiocchi? The price looks pretty good on them.
-
What the heck is up with that?
-
They are "softer" and guns with very light trigger pulls may need them. My Glock race gun sure does.

I placed an order with Cabela's on Nov 11 and just got an email pushing back the shipping date, again, to Feb 27. I cancelled the order. Federal SPM primers are available so maybe I will get some and see it they will work. I'm done trying to get their standard primers.

Pat Kelly just put out a video shooting the Shooting Innovations aluminum carrier. It looks a lot like the Surmount.
-
I ended up getting an RCBS automatic bench priming tool hoping it would fix the problem. I loaded up about 150 in once fired CCI nickel plated brass assuring all primers were seated properly. Yeah, it didn't work. Still getting about a 5% failure rate. So far I have tried four different priming methods and none of them have worked. I'm done wasting my time with them.
-
Thanks. I'll pick up some SPM and give them a try.
-
I'm not concerned about the pistol, I set it up that way. As long as I can get Fed SSP's it performs perfectly. But sometimes they are not available and so I was curious if SR and SPM worked as well.

My Glock will only work with Federal small pistol primers but they are hard to find. Are the rifle or mag pistol primers as "sensitive" and the standard small pistol?
