Ah, mind games is it.
While I will see it when I come in Thursday, to heighten the agony for the incoming shooters, do you mean to say that there is extra lighting in the area we are shooting (where the targets are) or just somewhere in the indoor bay? IIRC, once all the lights in the indoor area were turned on it was quite nice!
LOL!
No one needs to break a sweat over it this year. I'll leave it at: some targets are fully lighted others not so much and ROs won't need night vision to watch the shooters.
What should I worry about? I 'm the one shooting 115 gr HP at 1480. The guy running around in the dark with a plastic timer should worry haha

Sure...20+ years ago. The hot ticket were 152gr LSWC (Vic? CP Elite? I can't remember). Then for bowling pin matches, we'd swap springs and and use 230gr or 255gr.
I think the Penn Bullets were the best. Hard Shiny Linotype with red lube
My first Open gun was a "trick" Wilson SS with a single port comp. I got a good deal since Robbie won that year with a dual port so the last owner sold it fast.
-
So is this the first of three steps?
-
I am a GM in open and a M in limited. Which do they use for a single stack gun?
If you don't have four SS classifiers then you are unclassified
Or shoot 4 and unless they average 95% you are a M in SS

This was a great match. It was fun and could have been more challenging(put some distance/plates/small targets/I know it was for newbies like Chris Keen, but for next time)
Great job.
It's kinda scary to think that a "newbie" like little ole' me beat Bill Seevers with just a LTD gun!
Yea WTF BIll???? I'll bet Keen hired gogo dancers to perform as Speedy was up.
Way to Kick ass Chris.
Michael
It was all the USPSA poppers, head shots, partial targets and yes there was at least one target at 12-14 yards.

He can ALWAYS shoot Limited minor.
I heard you can too. 165.0 ??

I tumble my brass overnight and you can ask locals, its so shiny it hurts. Makes it easy to pick out among the others. We have a lot of shooters that still don't pick brass.

Here's your official round-count for the match as well
Vince
How many rds should I bring?
Will I be able to practice before the match?
Is L10 really the easist division to get a GM card?
-
In a match context, its a free country but don't worry about getting GM, I think B is pretty much impossible by not dropping your mags. I don't put mud covered mags in any gun but I don't hesitate to drop my $150 SV mag and use it on the next stage(after wipe down) in my 3K racegun. I tap them if its dusty 's and put them away for later compelete cleaning if I am shooting the mudbowl Nationals.
Even in SS they don't all usually get mudbogged on every stage. Its usually one or two.

Isn't that like B class in IPSC?
Great job

I have also been to majors in the past where you give your 8 rd sample but when you walk up RO grabs a mag on your belt. New rulebook spells out procedures that prevent most of this as Not allowed. Kind of a bummer
My Read of Appendix C2 still allows for random and additional collection of ammo to test.....
C2 #29. It is recommended that ammunition be collected from competitors as randomly
as is possible to insure that the collected ammunition accurately
matches the ammunition the competitor is actually using in competition.
Not only allows it but recomends it.
The way I read this the RO can take ammo from the shooters bag, mags or pockets if they have any there.
Tom
First we are talking about Locals. You can collect random and surprise but don't forget you need to read and follow C2 #28 First, you must collect 8(using #29 of course) and test first following the "procedure" (see C2 #41 for verification) That's how I read C2. This is a lot for a four stage club match I agree.
We haven't even got into calibrating the chrono.
We used to be able to chrono without worring about this procedure. That's the point I was making.

Sometimes you got to take a step back to go forward.
I was getting bad enough last year I thought I might have to quit. When I finally saw Drs and got surgery, I still had to heal, recover and am prob 90% now. If I had not "worked through the pain" and not delayed and self medicated who knows I might be 100%. Could still get there cause I was saying 80% for the longest time. I know one thing I ain't quitting cause 90% is enough to win. Its more than just running.
Another delay might have caused a need to quit is my point.

The way I read it is you must first collect 8 and test everybody, then can do random and additional tests. That's what holds up a club match chrono stage.
When we just needed one rd to make major, declared bullet weight, you could do "wham bam" testing easier.
I'm really surprised how many people want to allow locals to claim major n shoot minor. Or worse shoot below minor. So magwells and 22 rds n Prod? Ports in Limited? Now a brand new shooter I'm not running them off.
Heres what I have seen in the sport. If you don't teach people the rules they get "bent" when "the tyrant MD at that club that follows the rules" follows the rules, or when they get bumped to Open or minored at their first state match.
I have seen very little factory ammo not make power but I am sure in some guns it could not. We load DOWN below "combat loads" in general. (Open Excluded)

Want a chrono at a local? Set it up, I'm pretty sure MD won't argue.
I used to have a surprise chrono at locals. First time, over 40% didn't make it.
I have shot states where a roving RO carryed the chrono and picked up your dropped mags at the end of your run. No light box but good test, I think.
Also shot a major that had the chrono set up at the end of the stage and did just about the same thing.

I still have video of a certain match director, not flex, drunk singing with the rock band game a few months ago

Some people don't have maps...........

First thing is that RO needs to get in proper position. I thought he was gonna chop block you as you ran to right he was almost "downrange"
Well you have so much opportunity for more speed. Its not about shooting faster though, Pick that gun up faster dry fire will help with that. You need to "burst" out of positions and move!! then "glide" into next one, If you are not shooting ,RUN or DIG. Don't overdo anything though.
You need to pick a spot and setup and move to it and be ready to shoot as soon as you can. Example is in third position you did a little two step cause you didn't have your spot. Thats a wasted second and its maybe more x how many positions? How would you like your run 6 seconds faster?. Reaching for a mag and not reloading is self explantory.

I have ran the same comp field courses with 38Super and AR Open and Super wins by a small margin of time usually around 10%. When the Zombies come though its AR first because of the Power and longer range capability and then I transistion to Super.
Not that I have thought about it or anything.

Fun weekend. I just added it up I drove 15+ hours over the almost 24 hour period, 2 matches, with a drunkin binge thrown in the middle and that combined with a jamming gun let's me throw down this challenge. It ain't over.
You will be afraid, you will

These are set up so a good Master is pushed to get them all in so unless you are a good M adjust accordingly. If you are say a C then you might draw and shoot three A's and stop. You can win Area stages and classes with that stragedy. Your comp's ego makes them "try to get em all off" with the resulting sub part stage points.
This works with tricky movers too.
I guess Josey Wales said it best, Man's got to know his limitations,

Where is Cville?
Near Rtown

I like a large coffee on the way and a redbull when I get there

Hey, I was 44 when I had my first one. It was actually kind of a recon mission for another surgery the following week. They found a small polyp. Other than that it was all good. I did the Fleets Phospho Soda and then just sat around and waited for the bomb. Anyway, I am not gay or nothing, but actually sort of liked the procedure. I hadn't woke up so relaxed (MENTALLY!) in years. It is not a big deal. You really should have one if you haven't. There are too many men that die because they are too proud.
Take care of yourself.
Gene
That was the Diprivan that relaxed and cleared your mind. ICU nurses call it milk of amnesia because of its look and that effect.
Now to the gay part Micheal Jackson liked to take it too
