  1. CHA-LEE, Yes It's IDPA that I'm addicted to. March of this year was a full year of shooting IDPA and a handgun for that matter.

    @BSeevers, I try to shoot A's. :D

I can't thank you all enough for the advice. Your help is much appreciated. I will practice with ya'll's advice in mind. Wish I had come here along time ago.

    Ok Tough Love

If it ain't a down zero or A, its nothing. :surprise:

  2. Work on moving/reacting at Be--- not after the beep. I see .10-.20 right there. A lot of people benefit from a drill where you start gun in hand and on target and just practicing shooting at the B---- to learn how to react faster.

I assume you are getting A's?

Try mixing it up a little cause a "grooved" in time is not as real as a cold one.

  3. Some say its better to be lucky than good.

    :surprise:

I'll stick with seeing what I need to see, (dot or red on target depending on target difficulty) to make the shot. I always see some form of a sight picture even at .13 splits but I will say that I have no faith in point shooting at 15 yards. At least you understand. Some never get it.

  4. People are funny in general and see sports people as "role models"

Uh yea sure. Being good at something doesn't mean you are a good person.

Role models should be Mothers and Fathers,

People that jump into cold water to save a drowning kid,

Guys that carry a wounded buddy across a fire fight,

  5. They could just added the word lying "flat" and you could not do it. Its a bad course description and next time challenge it if you want to and get it thrown out of the match.

I can understand that something that simple could get left out in the WSB (laying flat) but my concern would be different RO interpretations hence it should have been allowed? I've run many IDPA matches so I can certainly understand the need for consistency and there's always something that is overlooked!

I had no desire at all to get it thrown out or challenge it.. not for what I get paid for this stuff. :roflol: Just trying to learn and have fun.

The basic concept is "If it doesn't say you can't do it, then you can" (within rules)

Thats the basis of gaming. Its really pretty simple if you ask me but we all also have to deal with bonehead RO's. Remember they are unpayed volunteers with 16 hrs "training" so no need to get panties in a bunch.

  6. Gaming is allowed and is good shooting. Its not just table starts it applies to the entire sport. Running a course is freestyle unless its forbidden in the course description and within any applicable rules of course.

They could just added the word lying "flat" and you could not do it. Its a bad course description and next time challenge it if you want to and get it thrown out of the match.

By the way I would do it at every local club in US if I wanted but I'll let you in on something. You would NEVER get to do it at a major because of bullet proofing stage description so I always set it on its side cause thats better practice.

  7. Y'all really should listen to Chris. If there's anyone qualified to speak about overcoming the burden of deviant sexual behavior and going on to perform well in a competitive event, it's him.

Never really bought into the idea of having a man crush til now Mark. I think I have one :roflol:

  8. Never thought I would be happy about $30/thousand for primers. Oh its only double what I paid 2 years ago. I want to just get a feel for pricing and hopefully by next year supply will drive price to a more appropiate level. Its "demand" thats working against this though. :surprise:

At least you beat the hoarders. so if I knew somebody that wanted to buy say 1K or 40K primers where would you suggest? Just kidding

  9. Learn to shoot, move, plan, faster.

The Zone is icing on the cake and not a cure-all. Its a way to maximize what you already have, its not a "S" on your chest or I shoulda said "Z".

  10. Theres another big issue. Bullets going too slow "bounce" back and do weird things fragging on steel. It dangerous.

PS there are a lot of hundred pound ladies that handle major just fine so just practice proper fundamaentals and you will be fine

  11. Can someone put the stages into a PDF. and send them to John Booths? My PC just died in the middle of going through my emails

Sorry Jason, I don't have the program to do that...however what I DO have is a fast food flow chart:

This is a great flow chart, if you are tired of Roosters...

Mmm Roosters, I really dig the blonde, brunette n redheads, and the beer, Pretty much the only reason I'll be there tmorrow, Where's my beer?

  12. Well been shooting Open since 1989? 6 or 7 guns.

    1. Pistolsmith is the most important decision.

    2. see above

Most other stuff is BS. Or I'll add not that important. Of course you need ambi, beavertail, trigger job etc...

  13. Limited around here is mostly the older guys who don't want to reload alot. Open is the same way :roflol:

OLDER guys!!! OK, I guess I qualify.

I like that too. Yea older guys like Chris T, Max, Brad, JJ, KC. Its starting to sound like that Dodgeball team (Blazer Taser). The other half of the Top 16 is over 40 so there ya go. :sight:
