  1. match application went out in the mail today...I guess I need to find a decent hotel too since the match hotel is full -
  2. DougC, They were said. The 40 Glocks were having issues before the third pin was added and they were coming a part. One local dept here had 9mm Glocks, switched to the .40's and actually wasted the time and money to switch back a year later due to the 40 Glocks falling apart so badly. Everything has growing pains, but they'll work though it. If your life depends on it, get a Glock. For some maybe, but I put my life on the line everyday w/ an MP and am completely comfortable w/ it. Ernie Langdon has over 40,000 rounds of full power/duty type ammo through his MP with NO problems or catastrophic failures. Again, there are several firearms that cant be fired tens of thousands of times w/out a snap cap or at least it is not recommended. The MP is no different. So simply put in a snap cap when dry firing, small problem solved easily. I agree completely - I've talked with Ernie as well and he said the same thing about having that number of rounds through his 40 - I haven't heard of a single striker failure in live fire - it's all been in dry fire up to this point and Kevin is correct...snap caps will fix that worry.

I agree Derrick - I think you can do it too. The journey is the real prize!
  4. What caliber? Most of the problems I've heard of are with the 40. I've put about 2000 rounds through my 9mm SN MPH**** with lots of dry fire. No problems yet. But I think I'll have to get hold of an extra striker just in case. Mine is a 9mm - with serial number MPBxxx - I'm buying a spare striker for the bag and using snap caps for dry fire from now on. I'm starting to hear about these strikers breaking during dry fire more and more....hope Smith gets it solved - great gun otherwise.
  5. Same thing happened with mine - dry firing and the striker broke. Just call S&W and they will either send you a new one or most likely they will want to gun back.
  6. cool pics Stu - I had a chance to take my two boys out shooting last week and it was the same smiles all around.
  7. Yes, Ernest is still with Smith....He's over their Military and Federal LE stuff. Talked with him right after Thanksgiving in fact.
  8. I just wanted to say thank you to all of our troops serving their country and especially those that go in harms way this Christmas- Thank you all for your service God Bless and come home safe.
  9. Well, the old standby DOH is available as well - I just got one for my M&P two weeks ago. Comp-tac is also making their models for this gun as well.
  10. nice work - keep the focus
  11. Tolly - I'm using the CR Speed pouches for my M&P mags - You can use the Beretta/CZ spacer without the tension screw and they work - or you can trim the spacer down some and they fit even better.
  12. I think he's acknowledging the fact that I'm getting old and need a wider rear notch to see...
  13. Yes they were listed in the catalog that just went out, but the production run was just finished yesterday.
  14. The Dawson M&P series sights are done guys - Dave should begin shipping his existing orders on Monday. We installed these on my gun today and shot it in - All I can say is that they are some of his best work. He and Wes did an outstanding job with these. The rears should come with either a .116 or .130 rear notch. Fiber optic fronts are also done and ready. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow if possible.
  15. +1- this is the same combo I shoot
  16. Is this based on newer information? People talked about a 5" version when the M&P first came out, but nothing new has been heard about it since. I would love a 9mm 5" version with the added features from the MP45. I'd be surprised to see a 5" version out before 2008, but anything is possible.
  17. Yeah, I knew he had a M classification in Open, but my point was that he's already a proven top level shooter - GM card or not
  18. Not sure about the ruling here for this Area match, but I do know that Dave Sevigny is most certainly a GM
  19. Same here Derek - can't wait to see and shoot that one myself.
  20. I was told by a Smith rep that it will hold 10 in the mag -
  21. Yeah, I bought a 9 from SFinney but I haven't picked it up from Dawson's yet. No word yet on the sights.
  22. For those that might be interested, I found a link with a picture of the new M&P 45 http://www.guntalk.com/site28.php#
