  1. Patrick I sure enjoy your books. Keep writing! Have pushed quite a few rounds through those super-light revolvers, and am of the opinion that IF a person wants or needs one, the used market is the place to get it. They are sweet pieces to carry, but the recoil will put many of them up for sale (I think) with not a box of real ammo going through the barrel.
  2. There is a book about Vince Lombardi, titled "When Pride Still Mattered"...I think that is the title.... Anyway, it is an awesome read.
  3. Thanks for the vids Steve. I really enjoy them. After allowing the vid to run to finish I always cursor it back, basically playing it in reverse, extreme slow motion. When I do this it is amazing to me how little movement (body) you have on the draw. Very efficient.
  4. All great questions. My question would be a hypothetical: An average shooter (healthy, athletic, no known physical or mental problems) is presented to you with a challenge---make him a top 20 national shooter within 12 months---success gets you $5,000,000.00, cash, failure gets you nothing. He / she is yours full-time. The person will live with you, travel with you, etc., whatever you say he / she should do. You have to take the job. What, in detail, do you do with this shooter? Hey, I figure you got these guys as a captive audience, make 'em stretch!

    Aeron chairs

Whoever wrote that needs to get better quality Khakis That is what I wear about 80% of the time, and have seen no such problem. Bill's Khakis are the best, btw!

    45 load

DougC---care to share your .45 loads? Thanks!
  8. http://www.officedesigns.com/ EricW posted it. That is the chair that saved my back. Btw, shop for it and you can get it cheaper. Also, they make it (or did) in various sizes. Find a store and give one some seat-time. I will say this, mine has been very durable.
  9. be: I tried them all, wore most of them out. Then I bought this futuristic looking thing from Herman Miller...it has like a net seat and back, adjustable about 712 ways. If I can find a link I will post it. Pricey...yes. 5 years later I forget what I paid.
  10. http://olympia.fortunecity.com/white/225/vince.htm For you, Ms. Sig Lady
  11. How do you guys like the Doctor sight?
  12. Has anyone used Zero brand loaded ammo? Thinking of trying some in .38 super. Thanks.
  13. Steve---just a note, I really enjoy these vid clips you post. What are you shooting pistol-wise? Very smooth reload, I am impressed!
  14. I am looking for a Kydex OWB holster that will handle my 6" STI fat-free from Benny, and also double with some of my other STI's. Recommendations? Thanks.
  15. tightloop----always wanted a chopped HP from Austin, those were so cool.
  16. Richard---I have a couple of the mag extension / basepads for the G20 from Beven. First class...going to call and order a few more myself.
  17. Tightloop---no sir, that was not me. My background in guns comes more from the hunting side of things, and have been many places doing that, enjoyed them all. Now my hunting is limited to mainly following a Class A bird-dog named Betsy with a SxS, and a few deer here and there. The appreciation for the old comp'd iron-sighted pistolas comes from owning them and shooting with friends and just really enjoying .45's / .38 Supers of the type built by Austin Behlert, Paul Liebenberg, and that whole generation of 60's-70's pistolsmithing. Some real artistry.
  18. shred you are probably right about the demand. If there was such a demand, someone would be putting on matches that featured them, I guess. My commend stemmed more from the beauty of some that I have seen, than anything else. Course, I was old school even when I was a kid
  19. Always loved those guns and have been seeing a few of them on the market for not much money. Is there any competition that the old horses could be run in? Pity to see them just sitting in the safe.
  20. Is Rusty Kidd, Tony Kidd? Sorry for being stupid if not Great looking blasters.
  21. Wanting / needing to reload but being slammed with work does not fit well together. Seems between the kids' soccer / softball / dance (you get the picture) and work there is either time to reload or time to shoot...and just barely. Soooooo, is there anyone out there selling a quality reload with the competition shooter in mind, ie., ammo that makes pf but not pf + a ton, that is also priced within reason? Thanks much.
  22. SA does make a hi-cap .45, it does use para mags, and I seem to recall CDNN has them (the pistols) on sale in its current flier which can be viewed and downloaded on its website.
