  1. Forgot to say "looks nice" also, thanks for thinking about us revo guys Now if we could just get someone to make an affordable replacement rear sight (I know the Rough Country is out there but I never see them in stock and not a big fan of the LPA, and I also realize affordable anything these days is asking a lot)
  2. Can you use an SDM Super Sight in it ?
  3. I should say I hope it comes up, My Area Director can bring it up but if the majority of the board doesn't want to talk about it then no joy.
  4. This topic will becoming up with BOD next month or the next, let your Area folks know you want to see the addition.
  5. This for Speed Loaders K and L frame.
  6. I make these for 40/10mm, 45 ACP S&W N frame and also 40/10mm for the GP100 PM me for more info.
  7. Nobody's mentioned the setcrew thru the bottom of the grip yet ?? There are pic's here on BE, you drill & tap a 6-32 or 8-32 hole perpendicular to the strain screw, drop in a piece of lead shot or a short piece of brass rod into the hole b4 you add the setcrew then tighten down. This mod allows you to adjust your main spring weight which in this "primer pandemic" is something I'm thinking of doing since for 2022 it looks like I'll be using Fed primers for big matches and Winchester and possibly CCI's for practice/smaller matches
  8. Sacrilege !!! You take that back right now !! You know any revolver jockey worth their salt would NEVER use Loc-tite
  9. Thanks. And don't forget all you rimfire revo shooters, look in the Competition thread here on BE for the thread to get Rimfire Revolvers recognized in Steel Challenge.
  10. I have to "ditto" the above comments on the DS-10's, have a bunch and they always work, the newer one's as posted above are the best generation so far imo. Speed Beez are a bit sexier looking but I have seen the retention issue up close when designing the loader holders I posted. I agree on supporting the cylinder when using any of the loaders, in a game like Steel Challenge it's simple to do, not so simple if you're on the clock though.
  11. Well when you have that many loaders then ya, a carry pouch looks required
  12. Looks like you almost have a plan, good that Allchin has (or will have) clips, only company out there that I know of now If you're worried about opening up the cylinder a few thousands don't be, I've been shooting cut down 38 specials out of my 38 Super cylinder for 10+ reloads in the 130 power factor with no issues. Yes I do get a slight bulge near the base but using regular reloading practices it has not hampered me in any way. Now for you, since you're shooting 38 Super Comp in a 38 Super Comp chamber, fully supported I might add, your brass will last forever !! What I'm getting at here is why would you ever go back to 38 spcl/357 mag ?? And if you do you won't really have an issue unless you want to shoot nothing but 357 magnum loads and reload the brass. Good luck with your project, hope to see you out at a match with the revo someday.
  13. Yes, the 38 Super ACP has a groove diameter the same or close to the 9mm so using 9mm clip should do the deal, 38 SUPER COMP moon clips will run you some $$$ I would have to guess. BUT if you have a ton of Super Comp lying around maybe that's a way to go, you usually get your moon clips back at a match if you lose one or two, can't say the same for when they get stepped on. You could check with TK Custom or Heathco, I believe they both burn their own clips. I also think you will find out you have to open up your cylinders chambers to except the 38 Super (Comp or ACP) brass. Yes you may get away with some or most of your brass working but someday you will get a bulged case in your cylinder and have a heck of a time getting it out after it's been fired. If you do open up the cylinder chambers then you might as well go all in and make sure 9mm brass works too. This here may just be working on the extractor star as that's all I had to do to get 9mm brass to work in my 627 Super revo's. (TK Custom offers this work btw) Now if you really want to get crazy you could swap the cylinder out for a 38 Super Cylinder ! ! ! (Though you will have to set the barrel back a little bit)
  14. Nobody's mentioned it yet but moon clips for 38 Super Comp are different than 38 Super semi-rimmed, I just measured both and the groove diameter on the Super Comp was .330 and for 38 Super semi-rimmed it was .340 I'm pretty sure someone made some moon clips for 38 Super Comp (Heathco??) but just know they are different.
  15. If you're looking for something to hold all those speed loaders (Sorry the pic's are so big, I have to work on that)
  16. Thanks for the info, love the Python looks, maybe someday I can get me one. Glad to hear that, "new & improved" can bite you (us) in the butt more time than not. AFA the length issue, if you stick with the long version maybe you can include dimensions for the user as to what they can cut it down to ??
  17. Late to the party with my comments so here goes. The new design sight base sounds great, until you realize we now only have a single source for front sight blades. (or two maybe?) Granted we don't have a ton of options but we do have SDM, Toolguy, EGW, Hi-Viz, etc. Do we think these vendors will rush to start make something for a custom part ?? I do like the design idea, just thinking long term. All for shortening up the Weigand style base, the original may have been as long as it is to cover up the removal of the stock sight base to go from pinned to DLX version, not sure. I believe most folks who use this base are cutting their barrels down anyway so shorter should be fine. That Python front sight is interesting, how does that stay in ?
  18. Another way to do it, not available at the moment but interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NaZpeFEfN8 I still think the op's idea is interesting, might need it's own carry pouch to keep it flat.
  19. I also have an Weigand sight base I've been holding on to it for some future project, had a blued one years ago but parted with it to someone that needed it more. I do believe if you made them you could find folks to buy them, I'd probably do another just to add to the spare parts bin, been longing for a 5.5" 929 for awhile
  20. Really like the look of these with a 5/5.5" barrel, just wish S&W thought about offering more versions. And yes, that Over Sized Cylinder Release is dang sexy looking But I do have to note, that one is a non knuckle relief version.
  21. Hmm, have the non fined muzzle cap on my 627 38 Super ever since I started using it, like 20-30 k plus rounds ago, filled the void between the barrel end and cap many times but never saw it affect accuracy, just removed the caked in crud with a center punch and a hammer (the OCD in me won't leave it alone) Can the opening "shrink" enough with fouling to cause an accuracy issue ?? Not sure, I've never seen it, but then I'm not a bullseye shooter. And sorry, but there is not enough "wiggle" to create an obstruction with the passing bullet, the original clearance diameter is more than enough for the bullet to pass through, let's not be starting any "old wives tales" about that BUT !!! if it's loose then all bets are off.
  22. I'll echo EEH's comment, pretty neat, the button issue doesn't look like a big deal if you put the unit in your pocket the right way much like rounds pointing the right way when putting a mag into it's holster (holder). I think I would be concerned about lint getting into the innards and clogging up the works and I think it needs to be made in a 5 shot J frame version for all those snubby's out there. Some great thinking there, if it works dirty it beats speed strips and dump pouches
