  1. ASHLAND LAKE GUN CLUB, ASHLAND, OHIO — Saturday, September 13, 2014Who is shooting? What division? Looking forward to my first state match. I'll be shooting my M&P in ESP/SS.
  2. Disabled safeties are a no-no in IDPA regardless of division, from my understanding at least.
  3. Does anyone know where I can find one of these? SSI has them out-of-stock and quinn doesnt have them on their own site anymore. Are they still being produced?
  4. Any idea when the scores will be published? It isnt going to be pretty for me, but im always interested.
  5. Depends what game you will be playing with this gear, but I think the comp-tac pouches are awesome. Double or singles.
  6. I may have to copy those dryfire target stands — I get bored with my same target array I've been working in dryfire. Nice job in the video above also!
  7. Congrats on the win Chris, looks like a fun one!
  8. Thanks for the Tips, Ill look into both of them!
  9. Any online retailers that Roll-Size their once-fired 9mm brass. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Pretty sure this is legal as long as you're loading to division capacity and the firearm with extended magazine still fits in the IDPA box. Anyone got a confirmation of this?
  11. This seems to be the constant struggle balancing competition and training. The scenarios you list are common topics among those involved in IDPA. I encourage you to read a summary of the initial suggestions collected by the "Tiger Teams" listed here: http://idpaforum.yuku.com/topic/8070/Summary-of-all-suggested-changes-to-the-rule-book IDPA is never going to be a complete simulation of concealed carry/home defense scenarios. I encourage you to enjoy it for what it is, shoot what you want/or carry, and get what YOU want out of it. Whether that is to win a game, assess your shooting skills, confirm you can shoot under stress, etc.
  12. Anyone with insight why Ohio with a large number of shooters and 13 sanctioned clubs hasn't put together a state championship in 3 years? Is it a lack of organization/initiative? Lack of club willingness to host? Lack of volunteers? I'd love for this trend to change, and am curious how we can make that happen?
  13. I usually try to pair up with another shooter who also collects their brass. I'll pick up their brass while they walk-through with the scorers, and they do the same for me. Seems to work well as come match day I want to see my scores, but I hate leaving a bunch brass behind. Also, I don't feel like I'm holding up the squad. That being said, if I'm alone Ill pick up only whats quickly within reach on my way back to my bag to keep things moving.
  14. It seems there hasn't been a State IDPA Match in Ohio for the past two years for various reasons... Does anyone have any details if the state match will be back in 2012?
  15. Thanks Edison but BritinUSA nailed it...Leopard is the last version that supports the PowerPC processors.
  16. Does anyone out here in Eno's land have an old OSX Leopard(heck even maybe Tiger) upgrade/full version laying around that's no longer being used? I have an older G5 Tower(Dual 2.0 PowerPc Processors) that has recently been on the fritz. I'm trying to troubleshoot and the only OS i have the discs for was the original Panther. Any Help would be greatly appreciated, I would be happy to borrow/buy whichever works best for you. Thanks, Ben
  17. Did you pack it in for the winter early Micah, no updates in two months?
  18. I was able to pick one up from Bud's online two weeks ago. I was signed up for a notification when they came back in stock, but actually just randomly looked one evening and they were in stock(didn't stay that way long) by the time i got my shipping notification they were out of stock again. Looks like I lucked out.
  19. Are you shooting production or limited with this M&P? If you are shooting limited, I'd definitly get a apex Forward Set Sear Trigger kit. The take-up and reset are quite short from my understanding. Heres a video from the net demonstrating these trigger properties.
  20. http://idpa.com/clublist.asp?pick=FL Those are the IDPA clubs in Florida. I'd check their websites for match schedules.
  21. Welcome. I've only been shooting IDPA a few years now so this is something I've recently went through a bit. IDPAs classification system will help you know how you are shooting against shooters that are generally at the same skill level as yourself. Given this is your first match, you haven't yet had the opportunity to to classify, so that won't help right away. Once you classify you will have a good idea where you stand in a standardized test of the IDPA skills. Once you know your classification you can always watch how you compare against the shooters with the same classification and watch the guys who are classified above you and work to gradually beat their scores. Seems like your "points down" were pretty acceptable in your last match, so looking for efficiencies in speed will be area of focus. My best advice would be to look into Steve Anderson's books (andersonshooting.com) for drills to improve over the off season. Also, if you are willing to drive a little bit, the season doesn't have to be over. I know there is still one more IDPA match in Circleville,OH the second Saturday of November. May still be some matches to go in Wilmington, OH too.
  22. I've seen a lot of these. http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=5B00002-1133894849
  23. Obviously, I've struck a nerve, and I apologize for that. When I said alienate, I meant it in the true sense of the word(casting off someone from a group) that meaning telling people who are gracious enough to volunteer their help, that they cannot shoot with the other competitive shooters. That's all. I'm all for the betterment of the shooting sports we love, so if you see this as an issue I'm glad we have a forum to discuss with other shooters. Best of luck and Happy shooting.
  24. Without SO's there is no match, ever. If you ever had a legitimate claim that an SO was bending the rules possibly to benefit their own match standing, talk to the match director. Don't alienate the people who make our great sports possible.
