  1. It looks like the small slide? Does anyone know if it would throw up to 26-28 grains of something like Win 748? I have powder all over using my 1050. The powder just sifts through it seems. If it misses a primer, half the powder falls through the primer hole before I notice! UGH !
  2. Great! I appreciate the direction. I will be puttiing an order in with Brian as I need several other items as well.
  3. Just curious....has anyone used slide glide on the bolt carrier group for an AR ? I have an AR10 in 300RSAUM and if the bcg gets even a little dry, I have feeding and/or eject issues?
  4. Thank you Brian! I believe this is what I was looking for but forgot where it was! So much info on this forum, I easily get a little confused!! Thanks again.
  5. Thanks, I'm still trying to figure out what I did. I know I reloaded 40 cal and 357's and maybe I used the same shell plate? I don't remember. I thought I had the W shell plate, but maybe I didn't. Everything else is in their proper places so I don't know if I misplaced the shell plate or maybe I used the same one for the 40s and 357??!! I did buy the #5 when I was at their store this last weekend so at least that problem is fixed! I ended up with $300+ by the time I got out of there! Just couldn't help myself!!!
  6. I was at their store Saturday and needed a replacement primer warning system. Over the years of having it in a outside shed here in the desert heat, the plastic became brittle and broke. I expected to buy another one, however, they just gave me a new one! Cannot beat their service.
  7. I thought I found a 1050 shell plate crossover table somewhere but I cannot find it now. Any ideas? I cannot find my shell plate for my 40 cal, but I need to load some 9mm stuff and I thought someone said you could use the same shell plate? I'm trying to decide if I should order both or just the plate for the 9mm incase the one for the 40 somehow shows up?
  8. I've been looking at shotshell reloaders and recently found I have a friend with a NIB Ponsness Warren 600 that I was considering. I went to several forums and it would appear that PW doesn't support old production models well. In fact the biggest complaint seems to be that people cannot find replacement parts! On that basis alone, I am considering the Dillon.
  9. Very kool ! I like that you can recharge it. I'm getting ready to build a 6V supply for mine so that I can use the IR feature here in the desert. Now that I see your's, I may have to rethink the direction I was going.
  10. The sensors were originally black. I sent it in once and they replaced them with the red and black ones. It did not resolve the issue. I just picked up a dry cell and will use the supplied power supply cord. I plan to just dut it off and splice the ends so I can use AC and/or DC. I still think it should have worked as "advertised" though.
  11. Yup, it really is pretty easy. I just did that a couple of weeks ago and it was really no issue at all. Since you're that far, just follow the above instructions and I don't think you'll find any surprises. Clean and relube reinstall and you'll be done before you know it!
  12. I agree with the 1050. It is sooo easy to build rounds and of course, is really fast at it. I have used Hormady One Shot, but have since switched to the Dillon lube. This also seems to make using the press even easier.
  13. I know what you mean. I had an issue with my 2nd hand 550. I should have pulled the print and reviewed everything. A little time consuming but would have saved a lot of agrivation for sure. Once two washers were placed in the proper position, I've not had any problem!
  14. "+1 on smackin em with a hammer! Too fun..." WOW, and I thought I was the only one who did that! lol I used to place a primer between two plates of steel and drop a baseball bat on it to set it off! Hope my kids aren't reading this!!
  15. Very nice detail. Curious which chronograph you used? thanks!
  16. +1 joebob. It is amazing to see what AR's are capable of today. I have a couple of Armalites and it's amazing the accuracy even with cheap plinking ammo. And with all the support for AR's you will find yourself soon addicted!
  17. I'm glad to see classics never die!!
  18. Glad to see that all our tax dollars are put to good use! lololol
  19. Success! I put regular flat washers where they belong, put the press back together and ran 500 rounds of 44 mag. through without issue. I want to thank all who helped along away. I really appreciate it as well as your patience!!!
  20. In my Baretta 40 cal I use the same bullet and powder. I have to admit that they do not group quite as well as I would like, however they don't tumble. I would have to check, but I think I am using a little hotter load. I know I use a Lee crimp die on magnums and some rifles, but I'm not sure this would fix your issue. I might try a "better" bullet mfg'er and see if there is any change for you.
  21. OK, so I finally got around to taking apart the press so as to replace the link arm washers that were missing. The print shows just a plain flat washer, however, my other 550 has bowed washers. Does it make a significant difference or should I just put normal washers in it? (Part number 13890) thanks!
  22. Thanks RePete! I really was hoping not to have to do that, but at this point, I'm willing to try anything. For the price of the unit, I should be able to throw it on the ground and have it work! (OK...maybe not!) It is the last thing I'll try I guess. Sometimes, it even gives me the error just sitting on the table with nothing else happening. Just frustrated I guess....
  23. Discount tire here used to give me their weights and they worked quite well. Just make sure they are all lead. Some will be zinc and can ruin your batch! Castbullets.com has a lot of info on the subject. Nice people there too.
