  1. Thanks for the replies guys, After a little more investigation I believe the problem is that I am over crimping with the bullet seating die. I made up rounds both ways with and without the FCD and then disassembled the rounds. In both cases I found that the plating on the bullet had been cut into. Now its off to the range to verify. Thanks again J.R.
  2. Good afternoon all, I am new to reloading and am having a problem with bullet tumbling. I am loading a 40S&W berry's 180grn Rn nose bullet using 5.0 gns of bullseye powder at a COL of 1.125. The round appears to work well in my M&P 40 pro except for tumbling problem. I am using a Lee turret press and the lee 4 die set with the factory crimp die. I was discussing the problem with fellow at the match this morning and he felt the problem was the round was probably over crimped and that the use of the 4 die was unnecessary. So I will put the question to you folks, is the factory crimp die necessary to use in 40S&W? thanks for your help in advance. J.R.
  3. Hello to all, Nice place you have here. Been shooting for years and think I would like to get involved with a little competition shooting. There is some great stuff and advice that I have found on the forum so far thanks a lot J.R.
