  1. I'm from germany, I just live here as an exchange student. I could maybe get my B but I don't know how pleased my host mum would be if I come home with a gun I go back to germany in July.... I'll post how much it ended up costing me, when the results are out.
  2. It's a glock 17, but a club one. They get used a lot, are old and never cleaned. And the club ammo is crap, too. I'm 17 years old and haven't got a gun YET! Nothing I can do about it until I'm 18.
  3. I'm just comming back from the local match, stage 1 had the ammo on one table, the gun on another (20 yards away) and the start box 10 yards away from both tables. I hear the beep, run forward to get my ammo, pop one into the mag pouch with my T-shirt jammed in and the other in my hand. Run to the other table and my Shirt pulles the mag out of the pouch without me noticing. Grab the gun, load, shoot 1 target: bang, bang, transition to the other: bang ... NOT BANG shit double feed. Lock the slide back, strip the mag, rack the slide, grab for a new mag.... and there was no new mag . So i run forward to pick up the dropped mag and shoot the rest. That cost me about 15-20 seconds on that stage. Notes to self: Tuck the shirt in all the way. And more importantly! Get a gun that hasn't got a double feed every f***in' 100 rounds. (3 double feeds the club match the month before...)
  4. On my range we have to start low ready (and can't run or shoot on the move) for the first 6 month till we get some experience. I always have my arms slightly bent, and just pivot in my shoulders. Worked for me so far.
  5. Just to ad my 0.02 Noone realy talked about the psychological effect off being in a TV show as the "pistol expert". Just because he is GM does not mean that he is not affected by the mental stress! Secondly, USPSA/IPSC is not only about shooting. Movement, Draw, Reload, awkward posisions, recoil management, shot calling and movement again! These are the skills that make a National Champ, not beeing able to hit 1' groups at 25 yards and neither beeing able to shoot 6 rounds a second. Now i forgot my third point
  6. Just found out after posting that the sordins have a 5 year warranty. I don't think that the bigger cups of the Peltors are an issue since my passve muffs are quite big and i shoot long guns with them. Seems like some more research is to be done on my part befor buing the muffs. Cheers Lennard
  7. I wanted to buy the Supreme Pro or Pro-X but than I found these reviews. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=720638 Can anyone who got his some years ago tell me if the lasted?? Cheers Lennard
  8. Fobus GL2 for Production I have no problems with it... and if I shoot badly chances are that it's ME and NOT the holster
  9. We didn't actually tried to achive that, the lines were just too long (or the range too small) but than we accepted it and went around the lines. Thx anyways now i know that i can just step over the lines(if not shooting obviously)
  10. So you could just cross the "wooden line" without a problem? And whats the difference between charge- and faultline?
  11. Tonight we made up this stage. Start from the box, shoot 'em as you see 'em with some charge lines. My question is: "Are you allowed to step straight out of the box or do you need to manurve around the lines and step out to the left." We shoot by IPSC rules NOT USPSA!! This wasn't a match, just some shooting for fun on a wendnesday night. I attached a quick sketch of the stage. (black the box, red the charge lines)
  12. Guy comes to the range with a CZ 75 that he just bought at "New Zealands Largest Firearms Dealer". We all have a look at it and find out that it can go fully auto. (If you let the the slide go the hammer will just fall). Club Captain sais the gun is unsafe and brings it back to the shop. Club Captain: This gun is unsafe........ shows him whats wrong. Clerk: Mmmhhhh... We better get rid of it! 2 weeks later Another guy comes to the range with the same CZ 75 in the same conditon. He got it $100 cheeper... We were thinking about thelling the police that the shop was selling illegal firearms
  13. The Humanmetrics.com test said INTP 61 38 62 44 but I'm not quite sure. Had some trouble with the english language xD The other test said Airtisan(didn't specify more): Performer (ESFP) |Composer (ISFP)| Promoter (ESTP) | Crafter (ISTP) Wich are all Sensers so I'd think im ISTP
  14. I just got my promo Front sight today. What an awesome mag!!! Thanks everyone for sugesting it! Lennard
  15. If you wish you'd live in america after reading this thread :-(
  16. Yep you are right. I'm from Christchurch and our range is a "No Danger Range" wich means that no projectile must be able to leave the range under any circumstances. To ensure that we have a couple of rules. 1. Before you are allowed to shoot at the club you must proof that you can hit the Classic IPSC target 10 times without a miss. 2. The muzzle must never point higher than the berm. 3. We can not shoot steel :'-( And we obviously shoot IPSC and not USPSA
  17. What helped me to shoot straight witht the glock is, to put a lot more finger on the trigger. With a 1911 you'd pull the trigger with the middle of the pad, but you shoot the glock like a DA revolver and press the trigger with the joint. It also helps to grip the glock really hard. This is for Glock ONLY! The style for a 1911 is totally different.
  18. Thanks guys! Signed up for "MyIPSCWorld", maybe join the USPSA. If someone itnvites me to america i can shoot matches too ;-) Lennard
  19. You are right I'm not in the US. Can i get the "Front Sight" wthout beeing an USPSA member? That it's not for IPSC is not a big deal i think. The difference is not too big.
  20. Hopefully this topic is in the right forum, If not feel free to move it. I'm looking for magazines that cover IPSC. American Handgunner has none and Hanguns Magazine only very little coverage of IPSC/USPSA. For example:Gun tests (Sti, Infinity, CZ-75...), Gear tests (Dot sights, holsters)ö, Match reports, Shooting Techniques etc. I'm not only interested in american magazines but it should be english ;-) Cheers Lennard
  21. I've got about 4 ranges in reach. The IPSC range is 10 km (6.?? miles) But most of the time I cycle out there, there for it takes me 30 minutes
  22. It's the same problem for me. I'll try out not the stop ar the resistance (what i used to do), but it'll be hard. I come from ISSF target shooting and there you stop at the resistance and than slowly press until the shot breaks. Let's see f it helps, next day on the range is Wendesday.
  23. On my range you are not allowed to point the muzzle over the berm at any crcumstances. The only exeption is revolver while dumping the brass.
  24. Haven't been here for a while, but i can tell ya: I got 12 of 18 in a match in production class! With 3 failures to eject and one double feed. That obviously took me 40 sec. to fix due to the lack off training. I was 6th on the stage where i had no problems. I'm really happy with these results.
  25. Yeah New Zealand is a greate country! Sunday is the next day i can shoot... I'll tell you how i do. The Problem with IPSC in germany is that the were no ranges were i live. We'll see... I do my best ;-)
