  1. I shoot bbi 124s exclusively in my open guns now. No build up. Very little smoke
  2. 1500 rounds of bbi bullets through my open gun no issues
  3. Yep short and light with a super light slide and recoil spring
  4. Exactly. Plate rack match are the same way. If can't call you can't win.. Doesn't matter what the gun does after the shot your in transition Anyway. I like it as soft and mild as possible 3.9 grins of Wst behind a 135 bayou bullet is a great steal 9mm load.
  5. Bbi 124 Hs6 Through my open guns Very good bullets no leading very little smoke
  6. Yep!Just chrono'd yesterday. CZ Sp-01 Shadow Bayou 135 gn bullet 3.93 gns WST WSP primer 1.120 oal Ave 990 fps for 20 shot string Mixed brass That's my load with a 135 bayou bullet. I get a very soft 130 pf out of my xd tactical with a storm Lake bbl
  7. Lol. Thats possible. I bought this gun used. I shot production when I first started shooting with another gun but he'll that's been 4 years ago. I Been shooting open since then. Guess I will order up a new one.
  8. Seems like the pivot pin on my rear sight is working it's way out the left side of the gun. Can I just drive it back over?
  9. Lol sure did I forget about that. Damn there must be some bad slide juju at my house
  10. Eric this is the second slide on this gun. The other was my super comp slide that had almost 60k rounds on it many of which was at the old 180 power factor The first 9 major slide had around 55k Fir this slide to break so soon I just don't know. However this time I'm going to have a new barrel fit also. Sti will warranty to slide so that Is some relief. The thing is the slides are not breaking in the same place So I'm wondering if I was just unlucky enough to get two bad slides
  11. Gerald you jinxed me you son of a gun I have the worst luck with slides. This makes 3. I can understand the first two. Given the round count on them. But this one... After only 8000 rounds my 9 major slide that I had rebuilt last year cracked. It's not a power factor thing. As I usually only shoot around 150 pf in practice and bump up to 170 for matches. This gun was set up with a 10 lb spring and aluminum shock buffer... I'm really starting to think these guns just can't handle the abuse of 9 major
  12. I lived in Buford. Which isn't far from Alpharetta at all. Your in a good spot matches all around you and close by. I'm lucky that I live in south Louisiana it's the same here
  13. Eric you are going to love that area. I lived there for 10 years. Plenty of nice ranges and if you want to shoot long range rifle there is some places near there that have 800-1000 yard ranges
  14. All three of the slides we are talking about in this thread my 2 and BJ's where from that time period
  15. It's really not that hard to find... It's right on the ground where it comes out the gun.
  16. I Know one world champion and us national champion that does after every practice session Just saying I shoot both. And shoot my sc gun better. They are also drastically different in design though
  17. There was really no reason for them not to warranty bjinpass slide. Sti cut it to start with. My two slides on the other hand was cut by well known smith's. But Eric is right both my slides one of which was cut for a Shuman hybrid bbl with full rib and tritop still weighed 11 oz. I can see them not wanting to warranty a 10 oz or less slide. Unless they cut it. Btw I have not had to mail either of my slides to them. I took very detailed photos and video of the slide being weighed Sti stands behind their products
  18. I also contemplated both for a while. In fact I just shot my gun with a flash hider on it for a a bit still wavering I almost bought both with the new intention of keeping the one I liked best and selling the other. But then I thought to give the rolling thunder the best shake it really needs to be drilled and tuned. So I opted for the titan. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
  19. Yeah makes it a little less impressive lol... Didn't think to clarify that statement. I will agree the the headache factor is pretty high with it. But shooting my open gun with a 4 port hybrid bbl and heavy load of 4756 or n105 I'm used to it
  20. I just put a titan on my new rig. Man if that rolling thunder is anything like the the titan you are going to be very happy
  21. No jack that's the first ar comp I have tried. I would imagine if I was to try another comp now it would be like switching comps on my open gun. I can't imagine another comp taming the recoil and muzzle rise better. Now admittedly another may do it as well with noise and blast. I was always going with either the titan or the thunder. Yes sir. But I forgot to mention I was seated shooting off a forend bag weak hand rolled under the but stock support style, doing it. But next range visit I'll roll some video
