  1. Thats what I love about this forum... After reading the title I had to click on it.. I pictured Keyboard commando's chiming in saying how no one in their right mind would buy one.. BUT seeing as how this is the ENOS forum and not some of the other "Tacticool" forums... we can all rejoice in the fact that not everyone buys every gun because of what name is on the side.. "I've found that there are two types of people in this world. One, those that do not own a Hi-Point Carbine and think the guns are stupid and a POS. Two, those that own a Hi-Point Carbine and know that the guns are f-ing awesome and a POS. " and sometimes certain guns are bought because they're just plain fun!
  2. Welcome, im from up your way. I grew up in portage county and moved to central ohio for my job. Theres quite a few good places to shoot up there so enjoy. Glad to see someone from a section of ohio that actually knows what real snow is! Not like down here where they get 3" and dont know how to drive!
  3. I had this exact same problem with my 650 whilst loading .45 The feed ramp needing adjustment was the cause for my headaches. However, just going to throw this out there, is your turret/shellplate clean and free of stray powder? I did have a problem with shells not seating all the way into the lip of the shellplate due to powder being stuck in the grooves once as well.
  4. I just got back from a halloween night shoot... and I can tell you global warming is far far away from central ohio... BRRR its cold out here!
  5. Si... in both red and green as well as two different sizes.
  6. I actually was considering doing the exact same thing with the exact same gun on sunday.. good luck, let us know how you did.. I'll do the same.
  7. I was considering a Battlecomp BABC for the front end, still not 100% tho on that. As of right now its a bare bones Springer M14 with composite stock and Iron Sights. So thats why I'm looking for ideas. Its been a safe queen for as long as I've owned it, It's time to get it out and have some fun with it...
  8. I've had a Springfield m14 sitting in the safe for quite a few years and its been feeling neglected. I mainly want to bring it into the current century. First off I'm looking for suggestions on a stock, sage? Troy? Vltor? Others? Next is optics, acog? Looking for your input to help modernize my m14
  9. Rickr, Agree 110%. I've been a firefighter for 16 years, and by now, I'm a cold hearted bastard and am used to seeing some not-so-pleasant stuff... However, I truly felt bad. Theres more to the story that the media will tell, but, its just unfortunate it had to come to that. I support the Sherrif's decision 100% tho. His priority is to protect the citizens of his county, which he did.
  10. Zanesvillian here! I didn't realize so many benos members are so close to me. Some of us may even know each other and not even know it. I shoot a lot at briar rabbit personally.
  11. Awesome! Enjoy the new phone!
  12. Wgnoys, I haven't heard of anyone having any issues with Tiny umbrella, what I HAVE run into is the lack of instruction on how to actually use the program. Perhaps that's where people ran into trouble. That aside... I have had three iPhones, my wifes and an iPad 2.. All jailbroken. I swear by it and won't look back. If one doesn't intend to tether or use there device for something other than what apple intended, then jailbreaking is not for you. Back to the original posters question.. Have we helped to fix your problem yet? I lost track after all the other discussion. Is your phone still not working? Does it have the spinning wheel of death on the main screen?
  13. I drank the kool aid 5 or 6 years ago and haven't looked back.. everything "just works" and plays well with other peripherals.. My wife and I have macbook pro's, iPhone's, ad we share an iPad 2... Next purchase is an iMac ... Enjoy and welcome to dark side
  14. It sounds like it is stuck in DFU mode. go to youtube and type iPhone 3gs dfu mode. there's a bunch of tutorials on how to take it out of dfu. Even if it's not in dfu mode, there are tutorials on the infamous "endless loop". I LOVE my IPHONE, I HATE AT&T.. They have NO clue what they're doing when it comes to technical service. If you need additional help, PM me and I'll send you my phone number to call me and I'll do my best to talk you through it over the phone.
  15. you can always downgrade to a lesser iOS if you need to, depending on which version you wish to downgrade to, you can just do a quick google search and it should go smooth. I bricked my iPhone 4 for two days a month ago and had to revert back to a previous version. It was the first time I had used quickpwn and it actually went fairly smooth. If your a mac user, I high suggest downloading a free app called TinyUmbrella, to save your SHSH.
  16. I'm about to be in this same boat. Back up to February this year... I call Bobby Keigans at Freedom Gunworks and begin the process, placing my name on the list, money down etc.. Several months of a few random payments and all is well. I just keep dropping hints to the future wife that I'm going to buy myself a new limited gun sooner or later... Fast forward to a month ago.. she sends me a picture message on my phone of a truck I've been eyeing up for a few years. A new crew cab 4x4 Dodge Cummins Diesel, 6 speed manual.. not thinking I would want it or anything.. well, we go look at it and buy it the next day. Fast forward to a couple days ago.. I get an email from Bobby Keigans saying they're ready to confirm my order and start the build..COOL!... only problem is I'm getting married saturday, and still haven't quite told her about the new gun..LOL Owell, she has pretty much come to expect it of me. As long as the bills are paid and we have money in savings etc, she doesn't care.
  17. sfchorn. thats a pretty good one.. I too hate bee stings, not because you itch for days after, but because the older I get the more allergic I am to them. I'm a firefighter/paramedic and have taken plenty ems runs to people who are having severe allergic reactions to the point where they're having breathing problems. I now realize that I'm getting to that point later in life..
  18. Boiler, glad you posted that. I had the exact same problem last night and crunched a few cases on the upstroke. Going to do the adjustments right now
  19. and to add to it.. one of the few 1911's that is compliant is an Auto Ordnance. Yet Les Baer, Springfield, etc are not. I wonder what they charge these companies to perform their "independent tests" on their firearms..
  20. After reading your first post I had to go google what you were talking about regarding purchasing MA compliant firearms... THAT was an eye opener.. I even read on a dealers website the attorney general sent letters to people who had purchased MA compliant glocks and then the attorney general deemed them non compliant and was "urging" people to return them for a full refund.. wow, just wow..
  21. O, and dont be afraid to ask questions. Theres a lot of helpful people around here.
  22. Congrats! Enjoy. I don't really save much now that I have my 650, I find I just shoot a whole lot more.. It all evens out. But seriously, enjoy it!
  23. I searched all the online bookstores hoping it was available online. I wanted to buy it to read on my ipad. I ended up buying the book and read it straight through in two days. Thank you Brian for all the well written info. After shooting a horrible match 3 weeks ago, I bought your book and went back to ground zero. I followed your advice to the letter and practiced the drills focusing on the goal of each drill. I have made so much progress in the short time I've been doing them. Thank you! worth every penny.
