spartacuslv, Just recieved my M2 Field a few weeks ago and have been peparing it for a match this weekend. reviewing the $ i have spent or am going to spend; from the out of the box...bang for the buck standpoint, i am envious of the SLP. i was bleeding from the very first couple dummy shells i tried to practice load...lifter went to c-rums before i fired it...

jtischauser, yes sir, just received some fiocchi low recoil slugs in the mail. will go take some shots without the nordic clamp; i at least hope the windage is better. Any of you M2 shooters been using the william's universal slugger sights for a while? was wondering how they are holding up...and if the rear sight causes any distraction (looks kind of bulky)? Test fired my new M2 21 incher last weekend; slugs impacted at least 12 inches high and 6 inches to the left @ 50 yards. I was shooting remington 1560 FPS 1 ounce slugs, had both my nordic extension tube/clamp on really tight, plus i was shooting off a bench. I am going to give 50 yards another try with Fiocchi reduced recoil 1 ounce Aero slugs, and no clamp...to see if things improve for me. but...if the POI is still way off, i am considering an inexpensive non-permanent solution like the slugger sights until I 100% decide on what to do (i am leaning towards having a higher front sight dovetailed). that is hillarious. when i re-assembled my trigger group with the c-rums lifter, i left out the plunger/spring assembly. i knew something wasn't right when my m2 had a mystery internal rattling noise...

Alaskapopo, nice! I also just got my M2. What kind of work do you plan on doing to it? So far all i have: - Nordic +5 - Nordic barrel clamp - C Rums has my lifter for welding I also want to adjust the shell latch; it is super hard to stuff shells in the mag.

cool...just got the call that my 21 inch M2 field came in. took almost 3 months. time to order some goodies. sorry...newbie qeustion, it's the +5 extension tube from nordic components that sits flush with the end of the barrel?

update: I was originally quoted 6-8 weeks on delivery of the 21 inch m2 field. I'm on week 8, so i gave the shop a call. I got a new ETA of 90 days going to give them another month to come through, then i think i'll take my $ elsewhere. then if i can't find anyone that has it in stock, i think i'll look into the FN SLP Mark1...or give Benny a call to get a custom 930.

I have been shooting cheap winchester shells out of my 870P for about 8 months now (one match a month)...and it just started sticking as I try to pump after firing. I have not cleaned the chamber at all...will have to do so before the next match!

i'm in the same boat as you; using an 870P, want a semi. I put a M2 on order...not really expecting anything until April. If I am still waiting...and it's mid year, the SLP Mark1 may be on my radar instead.

My dealer got 3 from Davidson's in 2 days, keeps one on the shelf. Have not been to a gun show in years. I am waiting on an order for an M2; if the wait is overly excessive...i'm glad to hear i can find a MK1 without too much trouble.

Thanks for the heads up; this is the type of info I was looking for. I have a 21 inch Field on order = confortech stock. Anyone else waiting for their 21 inch M2? how long have you been waiting?

Started shooting alot more from the beginning of last year. I have noticed that when it's dead quiet I get some ringing in my ears; like when i have my head agaist the pillow. Previously, I felt just the disposable earplugs or my over the ear protection isn't enough. Especially since most are shooting their rifles with compensators/brakes. So I recently started wearing disposable earplugs and the howard leight Impact Sport electronic hearing protection (22 NRR). But at matches i see plenty of people who wear just one or the other. do i just have sensitive hearing? Or are you more than frequent shooters experiencing the same or worse?

are the SLP MK1's hard to find? like; could you walk into a gunshow and expect to be able to see one?

do you have a buddy you can borrow a shotgun from? I would say get out there a few times to see how much you think you will get into it. it will also give you a chance to see what others are shooting.

decided to follow advice and order a 21 inch field. it was also cool that I was able to check some out at this past weekend's 3 gun match. From what i am reading i may have quite a wait; and i have a feeling it will be. But i hope it's not excessive like the end of the year. Oh, well...i will keep working/practicing with my 870P. if the wait is until the end of the year; at least it will give me the chance to consider the miculek/benny mossberg 930.

all, Do the M2 taticals have chokes in them? Chivas, My shop told me that Benelli was out of the 21 inch and it will take about 6 weeks to get one in. Don't know if they got the 6 week quote from benelli, or they are assuming.

wow...very nice! where can i get rifle sights like that? The gun shop i deal with didn't have either configuration. I have a 3 gun match this weekend; where i will make up my mind via checking out fellow shooter's M2's. I'm going to order from the gun shop next week and will have to wait for a good while i assume.
