    Squib?

?? What exactly are you "calling BS" on? "5.2.2 Examples of an FP (non-inclusive list): E. Shooting an entire array while faulting the line". As I stated, the offense in question calls for an FP. As I also stated, the SO is allowed some latitude in judging whether or not the shooter received more than a 3-second advantage for his action. On a 2-target array, I seriously doubt he/she gained more than 3 seconds. This is why I said I would give a single PE for the infraction instead of an FP. A 3-second PE penalty would cover it.

    Squib?

If the SO stops him and there's no squib, he gets a reshoot. If there is a squib, there's no reshoot regardless if the SO stops him or if he stops himself. If the shooter stops himself there's no reshoot. 4.3 in the rulebook explains this clearly.

    Squib?

1st question...down 5, no reshoot 2nd question...technically, shooting an entire array out of cover calls for an FP according to the rule book. However, I would give one PE unless he got more than a 3 second advantage to do it that way. I know...calls for subjectivity.

That's unfortunate, but completely necessary if rifles will be allowed.

    PCC in IDPA

As I'm sure you're aware, your theoretical scenario is not what IDPA is about. From the rulebook... "1.1 IDPA’s Fundamental Principles The Fundamental Principles are a guide to all members. A. Promote safe and proficient use of firearms and equipment suitable for concealed carry self-defense." also... "1.2 Principles of Shooting IDPA 1.2.1 Equipment Principles Allowed equipment will meet the following criteria: A. Concealable: All equipment (except flashlights) will be placed so that it is not visible while wearing a concealment garment, with your arms extended to your sides, parallel to the ground. B. Practical: All equipment must be practical for all day concealed carry self-defense, and worn in a manner that is appropriate for all day continuous wear." A rifle on a table in front of you is not concealed carry self defense, but you knew that. To answer your question, I'd take the rifle if the targets were 10 yards away and I had equal access to both a rifle and a pistol. But again, that would be a rare occurrence in real life.

    PCC in IDPA

Not gonna lie...it does look like fun! However, in all honesty I would not want my PCC score to appear mixed in with the pistol shooters that didn't get all of the advantages that I did shooting the stages. I like competition and winning as much as anyone, but that would feel like "cheating" to me. Like you said earlier, you don't have to be a good shooter to finish on top with a PCC. I wouldn't feel like I earned the win, but that I bought it instead. No thanks. I want to win, but not like that.

    PCC in IDPA

That could very well be their reasoning. In any case, it worked out well and is a good model for running rifles in IDPA.

    PCC in IDPA

How can you even remotely say it's the "same match" when rifle shooters don't have to follow even close to the same stage procedures as any pistol shooter? You give someone a faster car AND give them a head start...and the scores should all be lumped together?? I think the people running this year's Worlds have the right idea...a separate match with separate scores. This just makes sense.

But you're only competing against other PCCs...shouldn't the scores reflect that?

    PCC in IDPA

In all pistol divisions, the standard stage procedures are followed. They all have to draw from a holster, use concealment when required, reload after 6-10 rounds, face uprange when required, shoot with only one hand on the gun when required, etc. A rifle shooter has to do none of these actions. Their score should not be included with the pistol shooters who DO have to follow all of the stage procedures as written. There is simply no comparison. Rifles don't shoot the "same match" as pistol shooters.

    PCC in IDPA

OK, but I'm still curious? Since PCCs are not competing against pistols in IDPA anyway, why is it considered "butthurt" to insure that the posted results are kept separate? What possible value or reason would there be to compare your score to someone using drastically different equipment and stage procedures? Could it be that rifle shooters really DO desire to compete directly against pistol shooters? Why else would you care how the match scores are listed...?

    PCC in IDPA

Rifle and pistol differences are a bit more than just a different division... A separate match is the way PCC is being done at Worlds this year, and I think it's a great idea. Have the rifles and the pistols compete separately and post the scores separately also. As for getting "over it"...PCC is still an optional division and at the discretion of the MD. Until such time that it becomes a required division for a Tier 1 match, we won't be including it. If that time comes, I can then get creative with the stages and match registration.

    PCC in IDPA

I still say the easiest solution (if you're going to allow PCCs at all) is to simply create a separate match for pistols and rifles in Practiscore and then run the two matches at the same time. That way you don't have pistol scores in the rifle match results and vice versa.

    PCC in IDPA

Yep, exactly. All mags loaded to 10 rounds, lots of hard leans, unloaded starts for PCCs. Open unloaded box starts are always fun too. Since the PCC can't fit in the box, it has to be staged "nearby". What's "nearby"? IMO, 2-3 yards away is nearby. Shooting tight shots from a vehicle is fun also. Like I said, a little creativity by the stage designer can drastically reduce the advantage of a PCC.

    PCC in IDPA

I agree about the "typical stage". That's why I'd never use typical stages if PCCs are allowed in and registered to shoot. A little creativity by the stage designer can level the playing field considerably.

    PCC in IDPA

I'm curious...why would you care at all how you did against a pistol shooter? They're shooting PCCs at Worlds as a separate match on a different day. IMO, if PCCs are finishing at the top of the mythical "overall" rankings, then the stage designer is simply lazy or too busy. That silliness can easily be prevented!

    PCC in IDPA

Wow...why would someone even look at the unfiltered view? Also, it's much easier for clubs to simply create two matches in Practiscore, and have one for rifles and one for pistols. I also like how they're running PCCs at the IDPA Worlds this coming year...they're putting PCCs in a totally separate match, as they should be.

    PCC in IDPA

I'm not understanding your point. PCC shooters only compete against other PCC shooters. IDPA doesn't recognize an overall high score in their matches.

    PCC in IDPA

Keep in mind PCC is not recognized at many matches/clubs. Even some that do accept it put some "creative" start positions for PCC in the stage description.
  21. I used some modeling putty called Apoxie...worked well!
  22. No pins for me either. I use lemishine and Cascade dishwasher liquid.
  23. Yes, I have four Romeo1s, including three of the newer 6 MOA dots. I think they're an amazing sight, and much tougher than the exaggerated stories on the interwebs would suggest. I tried an RMR and the window (IMO) was too small. The Romeo1 works well for me for both carry and competition use.
  24. The new 6 MOA Romeo1 is amazing!
