  1. Here is a little spin on it.......... if you want to 'cross train'........... use the same gun. If you are shooting a G35, you can do that easily..... but no matter which model, you've got the option. Shoot Limited Minor, etc......... that may be the most helpful.

I 'division AND gun switched' all last season........ and it did not help my shooting at all. My only New Year Resolution this year was to shoot one division all year and see how it goes. I decided to shoot my Open gun, and leave the plastic on the shelf for a while.

I felt like, as Merlin said, "Jack of all trades, and Master of none". Oh, one other thing--- make sure you are having FUN. If not, re-evaluate.

  2. Congrats on the SS win today........ you were even complimented by how well you shot by your chief competitor. :)

Nice job! All the work is paying off............

  3. Set the scanner so it is always on and hanging off the edge of the table. Set your scoresheets in a pile below, pick one up and drag it past the scanner. All you have to do then is enter the hits and grab the next one. Get it setup for a fluid motion and I assure you if you have more than 20 shooters it will make a big difference. Alos, be sure to use the + and * shortcut keys if you don't already. They help alot as well.

Lee has been kind enough to set this up for our club and do our scoring lately. It really IS the coolest thing.

  4. If your using stock barrel i wouldnt recommend using VV N320, thats too fast powder and makes your brass swell.

Im using VV N340 with 200grs bullets and no sign of swelling.

this is correct.... i even use powder thats slower than n340, 3n37 5.2gr 180gr lead is my recipe, i will also try ap100 next month cos the store selling vv is too far ;)

Sorry to hear you've had that experience; I've done like 5K + loads, along with a bunch of my buddies, and have never had any issues at all. Best advice is find something that works for YOU and stick with it.

  5. I'm still a noob when it comes to shooting open, but I have shot quite a few different guns in my quest for the 'right' one, and I didn't care for the recoil impulse of the 9 major as much as 38 super, which was one of the factors in my decision.
