Set the scanner so it is always on and hanging off the edge of the table. Set your scoresheets in a pile below, pick one up and drag it past the scanner. All you have to do then is enter the hits and grab the next one. Get it setup for a fluid motion and I assure you if you have more than 20 shooters it will make a big difference. Alos, be sure to use the + and * shortcut keys if you don't already. They help alot as well.

Lee has been kind enough to set this up for our club and do our scoring lately. It really IS the coolest thing.

Wife and I have done this quite a few times...........we just let the RO know and then stand at the line and do the swap from holster to holster. Easy, too, since she's righty and I'm lefty.

Man, you finish building my open gun, have some free time..... and look what happens.

Big +1. I always said I wanted to shoot that well if I ever made it to 85 yrs. old. Waco will always feel a little emptier now without him.

Mark,
You forgot to add "weak hand only". :D

If your using stock barrel i wouldnt recommend using VV N320, thats too fast powder and makes your brass swell.
Im using VV N340 with 200grs bullets and no sign of swelling.
this is correct.... i even use powder thats slower than n340, 3n37 5.2gr 180gr lead is my recipe, i will also try ap100 next month cos the store selling vv is too far
Sorry to hear you've had that experience; I've done like 5K + loads, along with a bunch of my buddies, and have never had any issues at all. Best advice is find something that works for YOU and stick with it.

VihtaVourhi N320 loaded to 1.135 about 4.5g w/ a 180g bullet. Use at your own risk, of course, but this has worked for me in the past to make the PF level you are seeking.

I've always used Ghost. Looks like that does the same thing. Having a solid backup is a necessity, so this is a good plan.

I'm still a noob when it comes to shooting open, but I have shot quite a few different guns in my quest for the 'right' one, and I didn't care for the recoil impulse of the 9 major as much as 38 super, which was one of the factors in my decision.

Even money says Mike is shooting Production by January, Limited by March, and Open by July!!
"Maybe" I can stop division switching long enough to actually learn how to shoot this time thru.
-
Who else here thinks Mike should man up, and go to an indoor range and sight it in, so he can shoot it at the Waco match tomorrow???
As bad as I've been shooting lately, I could probably NOT sight it in and people wouldn't even notice the difference!!

One last refresh on this to see if there is anyone else with info before I write it off.

EGW comp, KKM barrel, 38 super. 5" gun. STI frame/slide. Built by Brian H., aka Hawley Custom.

Now I need some mags........ hmmm.......... ;) Thanks for compliments Howard! Brian always has done nice work....I just managed to coax him out of semi-retirement.
Details, for those who want them: 38 super (of course), setup for ME as a Southpaw.

I'm gonna have to go with OPEN, after all, I just posted THIS thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...c=56154&hl=

Long story short, after making sure the wifey had a working blaster ( I bought her a Brazos), I took her old frame and had it redone and a new top end built so I could have my OWN OPEN blaster now. I'm very excited.
One of our resident Enos forum members built it for me. ( Thanks again Brian H!)

Bob recommends either n105 or IMR 4756 in 38 super. 3n38 works well also but you'll most likely get fireballs out of the comp like I do in mine. Bob does not recommend 3n37 or n350.
The right load (around 10.5 of n105) will yield a dot that doesn't lift. The only thing is that n105 isn't available anywhere right now.
I'm using IMR 4756 w/ a 124g. MG JHP. Load is about 8.5g. I try to stick with Bob's recommendations.

Here's a thread I did a little while back on this:

Hope it'll help!

So this has me thinking too..............how hard would it be to install a scope mount & a Cmore? Find the dot practice with airsoft sounds fun.

Nocogdoches/Lufkin has a club, but it's not really all that close, either........... Texarkana is prob it. Good fun club there, too!!
-
I'd recommend one of the 'burbs, just FYI...... no one actually 'lives' in Dallas. Where will you be working?
And yeah, come check out our local shooters forum, too. (the admin is a REALLY nice guy, too. )
-Mike
Catfish and the gang are good folks........ you'll have a good time.
-
For those of you who HAVE used it, what did you switch to? (Keeping the topic going waiting to see if anyone has more information)
-Mike
-
Yeah, it's pretty interesting that it seems to be 'hearsay' and what not........ I bet SOMEBODY has the scoop. We'll just wait till the right person reads this thread and fills in the inquiring minds who want to know. Thanks to all so far.
-Mike
PS... I did shoot some of it loaded in 38 super-- not too bad, all in all.

I have a friend of mine who has a stockpile of VectranSP2, but even he is starting to get low. I wasn't shooting Open or paying attention to the powder info back when the product became unavailable in the US.... can someone give me a quick run down on why it is no longer available, and what efforts have been made to try and get it? I'm happy with using IMR4756, but he asked me and I figured I'd try and find out.......... thanks to all!
