Every single Open gun I know that has experienced this problem has been rectified by buying the Brazos extended/tuned ejector. It may not work for EVERYONE, but it's worked for everyone I know.

If you are thinking about shooting Open, you shouldn't be thinking about how much it's going to cost.
I'd say get the most reliable gun you can, solid equipment, and a good lot of brass. That'll get you started, and I'd throw out a ROUGH figure of 3K for all. ROUGH figure.

+1 Pat is a very good guy, and a good rep for the company.

I'm a southpaw.........and I'm using a Limcat. I absolutely LOVE it. Awesome, awesome holster.......and finding anything for a leftie is a big PLUS!!

Don't quote me, but I think I paid 10 cents a piece for my last batch.......

Ok, so I have a gun with a grey Roupe grip on it. Nice and undercut, all that hoopla........ but it's kinda, well, DULL.
I remember a thread not long ago that might have addressed this, but can't find, so asking here--
is there a way to dye/color these pretty easily? I don't really want to buy another one, so modding the color is my preference.
Hell, I'm not opposed to a Sharpie, if that's my only option...........but I'll wait to hear from the experts!

I did not find it be to be too temperature sensitive, but I live in Texas......... so I may not be the best source of winter/summer load data. I ended up switching to IMR 4756 powder, due to price.

Glad to have you back in the fold. Which gun are we shooting? You know you are always welcome to borrow one of mine if need be.
I really need to take your path and start focusing on shooting.

Did you buy this new, or used? If new, first thing I'd do is make a friendly call the the gunsmith. They are always glad to help fix issues and give advice on what's best. There are lots of variables that could cause issues, I'll say that. (Went down the guess what's wrong path not long ago, and it's a royal PITA!)

What brand of chrono? With screens on, or infrared? Did you verify the charge consistently each time you changed the amount of powder being used?
Just FYI, these are my chrono readings, using a CED (match style) chrono:
Glock G35 4.5G -V V n320 180 Zero JHP
948
924
936
925
953
932
943

934.8 168.264
5.1 sounds awfully hot......... I always ran 4.6, and knew I had a few FPS to give me breathing room.

Anyone heard the scoop on what's up with Julie not being on the list?

I'm using a Comp-tac for mine. Good stuff. FAST delivery too.

I got my CRO paperwork in the mail, so I can get started on it.........and get this, my mentor is: *drum roll please*...... the one and only, John Amidon! Very cool........figure it can't hurt to have the 'boss' to learn from. Wish me luck!

I know I'm going to hate myself for asking, but exactly "why" would you want to do this?
One of the reasons I switched from the 'other' sport to this one was for that reason.
Hard to conceal an Open gun in a Ghost holster.
I'd recommend if you want to add to the complexity of a stage, force the shooter to use strong or weakhand only or something along those lines.

Probably. Especially if it was on a 5" version of the M&P. :D

Have you updated to the most recent patch? 3.0.2?

And much better to get tested and KNOW, then wonder. I highly recommend everyone get tested once a year, especially if you shoot indoors.

It's the wife's fault. I bought her one, and tried to resist........but I'm finally coming around. I plan to 'officially' start shooting Open full time next month, and retire the Limited/L10 guns for a while. Of course, finding the damn dot weakhanded is another thing.........
Back to topic: the extended ejector and the offset scope mount together can do wonders and give you lots more margin for error. I swear by them.
