  1. I called Benelli and pretty quickly was speaking with a rep. I have an RMA# and plan to send it out on Monday. Now that I'm armed with even more info, I plan to look at it and shoot it some more and see if I can pin down the culprit.

Tom, I'll try to get a few photos of the disconnecter hooks.

  2. Test 1 - I cycled the action about 50 times like GunCat described. I never once got hammer follow. I sling shoting the bolt like it would happen when I shoot.

Test 2 - The hammer also stayed back when I released the trigger each time. I tried this about 15 times. I might should try it more.

I failed to try to call Stoeger today. Busy day at work.

  3. My hammer doesn't look too bad. I haven't done the test that GunCat suggested yet, but I plan to. I have to get my wife to be the 3rd hand.

I called Stoeger earlier today but caught them while they were taking a special Thanksgiving lunch.

  4. I thought that Pat was onto something. I do run a Nordic that bolt handle that I had to relieve. I pulled the bolt and checked the firing pin and it moved very freely.

I plan to contact Stoeger and see what happens. I appreciate the suggestions.

  5. My newer M3000 has double fired(one trigger pull fires 2 rounds) 3-4 times and I only have 110 rounds through it. It happened twice today during a match. I bought the gun new and the trigger group is bone stock except for the MOA safety button. This is my 2nd M3000 and I have over 1800 rounds through my primary M3000 and haven't had this issue, so I don't think its technique issue. I have pulled the FCG and things look normal compared to my older gun. Any ideas? Could it be anything other than the disconnector?

  6. Both my M3000's wear a Kick Ezz and they are worth every penny IMO. I have had excellent result using a belt sander(pedistal type not hand held). Works best when you lay it on the table and work it, but you cannot see the line you scribed. However, laying it down isn't always possible when doing the final blending. You have to be cautious, one wrong move and that thing will grab and rip it out of your hands. I used the 111 pad that Tom sells on my 2nd gun and even though I shortend the SG 1.25 ", grinding was minimal compared to a non- pre-ground pad. Heck, on my first Kick Ezz fitment, I went to the band saw before I began grinding. :surprise: The 111 pad Tom carries is likely the way to go.

  7. I actually liked the idea of stage 2. I also think that Pete and other RO's did as good as they could under the circumstances. However, with the shooting going on on stage 1, there was a good bit of confusion from one end of our squad to the other. Further more, I was number 10 shooter on our squad list and had #10 in my mind, but I ended up being shooter #11. Well, I ended up shooting my entire first string of slugs at the #10 slug target. :surprise: In hindsight, it was a great way to make friends with shooter #10.

  8. This was my first BRM3G. I really enjoyed this match. All of the stages(except for stage 2) were awesome. The RO's did a great job too. I loved the challenges that this match presented form the 50 yd pistol shots at mini USPSA steel to climbing the wall. And as Steve mentioned, the weather was excellent right up till Sat evening.

I also enjoyed getting to know the guys in squad 11. I'm certain that I saw moments of excellence (as well as mediocrity) in just about everyone at some point. :D

  9. Post 64 in this thread states shooting will start at 7:45 daily

If it's like previous BRM3G, we'll shoot 3 stages per day. No lunch break and , historically, finish mid/late afternoon.

Later we will gather in front of the lodge and lie about how we burned down stage #X.

My first time shooting BRM. Thanks for the reminder about start times and the info on how the days may play out. ;)

  10. Ive been following this thread for a long time. This may be a bad idea and I may get flamed for brining it up .BUT, considering the reliability you can achieve from an MOA worked over edition, has anyone every cut one of these down to 18.5 inches ? I was thinking about doing it and using this for a home defense shot gun. what problems might this cause? should I just use the 22 inch model and call it good?

I wasn't even aware Stoeger makes a 22" M3000. One might be nice to have at Horner matches.

  11. The "thing" that goes in the stock is.....just a hunk O' round bar stock. (with a threaded hole in it.)

Thats what it looks like to me too Pat. When I bought my first M3000 over a year ago, I made a weight to install just like the factory one and it turned my well running shotgun into a less than reliable running shot gun. Unfortunately, I discovered this while shooting Task Force Dagger last year. It was great training though. :)

For the guys that don't have the Kick Ezz, it its a useful addition.

  12. This is my 3rd ProAm. I shot and worked the Pro side so all I can comment on is the Pro side. I enjoyed the stages and the overall match experience. I liked the options that some of the stages provided. I also felt like the stages provided a nice blend of speed and accuracy. Fat Tire on tap was also a nice surprise. A fellow shooter counted 39 guns on the Pro table. Another friend finished over 100th and still left with a nice Devil Dog Arms handguns and other tidbits. Pro match results were posted with great efficiency and I was on the road headed home before 2pm even after going through the FFL process.

Vendors row was a little I on the ight side this year compared to last year. I also missed the side matches.

My next match is Blue Ridge 3 gun. I have no issues with it being at Rockcastle.

  13. Just swapped out the extractor. Nothing to it after watching the vid. That vid was Very helpful Huch. Thanks. I decided to keep the factory spring since it seemed to currently have the same tension as the Benelli sping.

I have just over 1400 rounds without any extraction issues. But I have one more match before 3G ProAm and I thought it would be a good time to swap it out.

  14. Bah, if it isn't raining it isn't 3 gun... If you wanted 70 degrees and no chance of rain, you could run an indoor 3 gun match (yes, I would go to that).

Otherwise, inclement weather is part of the challenge. I have shot in 105 degree heat with 95% humidity, I have shot in inch an hour downpours, I have shot when it was 4 below zero and when the range got 4 inches of snow immediately prior to the match. I have had sunburns so bad that they needed to be medically debrieded (hence the reason that most of you would never recognize me without the hat), I have even broken my leg, at a match, while under time, shooting a stage. I welcome all challenges, including the worst mother nature can throw at me... I really do. If you cannot shoot under stress, you cannot shoot as well as you think you can.

I have to agree with you Barry. And I have shot my fair share of poor weather matches. 23 degrees in the snow... done that. Rainfest at TFD 2014(had to have been there).... done that. All were great experiences. My weather comment had a twist of sarcasm. But in all honesty since some of us will be shooting 2 days and then working 3 more days, I am hopefull for some decent cool weather.

  15. I didn't realize the SBE and M2 springs were the same. I just got notice that the SBE springs shipped. I thought I had ordered them by mistake. Are they really the same?

As far as I can tell they are the same part number.

Midway shows the SBE spring as a #70038x and the M2 spring as a 70038.
