  1. Here's a pic of the G19 I had milled and then had them refinish with Black Nitride.  Truely exceptional work and the optic fits perfect.... like it's made for it (cause it is).  They even install a channel liner at no charge on the two I've had done.

  2. I've had Battlewerx mill two different Glock slides for a Holosun 407/507 and both have been exceptional.  FYI, The Holosun 407/507 cut is exactly the same as the RMR cut.  Battlewerx confirmed this for me.  The only difference is the screws are different lengths.  Here's the Email from them:

"The cut is exactly the same for the RMR and the Holosun 507c/407c/508T/507Comp.

The only difference is the length of the mounting screws used for each make of optic.

The Holosun will use a 4-40 x 5/16" mounting screw and the Trijicon RMR uses a 4-40 x 3/8” mounting screws.

You can find both those screws available at the link below.

Pretty awesome that you're not tied to either optic.

I just picked up a 17.5 that I will be sending to them to get milled.

I’m not a fan of the current version where they changed from the “.” to the standard Gen 3 connector to increase the pull weight. Ive got two of the original in a 45 and 47 and have been super pleased with the performance / results.

I just received my GTP which had the standard connector and was not overly impressed.  But I changed over to the "dot" connector that came in my new blue label 17.5 and that made a substantial difference.  It breaks at about 4 lbs.

10-4, it’s good to have someone that is on a parallel track 👍🏼. Good luck with your endeavors! Keep us updated if you can.

I’m getting my Gen 5 set up this week with the new parts and I’m planning on updating the thread, or starting a new one, chronicling my experience with the Gen 3 vs Gen 5… even though the topic may be passé for most Glock owners at this point 😅

I'm very interested in following along with that.  If you start a new thread(might be better), please post a link here or PM me.  Thanks.

well you gents just saved me some money…I’ve decided to set up the Gen 3 and Gen 5 the same and see which I like better, shoot that pistol primarily and keep the other one for backup, or put a mag-well on the Gen3 and use it as a Limited Optics gun…just to get the Stacatto guys to look at me funny 😆

Roger that. I’m going to keep a few Gen 3’s if only for the fact that I have the most spare parts for them compared to the Gen 5’s.

Sounds like an good plan and in line with what I plan to do.  I've had similar thoughts about LO since I already have a brass magwell. 😉  I too have quite a few gen 3 parts in the parts bin after 20 years of shooting them.

  6. I reached out to Battlewerx about the difference between the RMR and 407/507C and received this detailed response.  I've had two Glock slides milled for Holosuns by them and both have an amazing fit with zero play.  Here's what they said:

"The cut is exactly the same for the RMR and the Holosun 507c/407c/508T/507Comp.

The only difference is the length of the mounting screws used for each make of optic.

You can find both those screws available at the link below.

With this in mind, the Foreward Controls plate should work perfectly if you shorten the screws by 1/16" for the Holosun.

you know, I don’t notice a difference on the timer when I practice reloads between the Gen 3 and Gen 5, although it may be different for you…the flared magwell on the Gen 5 is not all that significant for me..but I certainly don’t want to talk you out of a Gen 5!

Haha, I too have been able to achieve some slick reloads with the Gen 3 but every once in a while, a slight misalignment has caused the feed lip to catch on the unflared Gen3 magwell.  I don't intend to depart from all my Gen 3 guns... at least not entirely.

  8. Does anyone have experience with Forward Control plates with the Holosun 507 Comp?  Statements on the Forward Controls website leads me to believe that there may be a problem with fitment with the Holosun.

  9. My experience with CHPWS is less than ideal.  When mounting the optic to my Walther PDP there is over .010 front to rear movement between the optic and plate and over .010 between the plate and slide. That means the screws are being relied on to keep things in place.

I've had two Glock slides milled by Battlewerx and both have been an amazing fit for Holosun 407c.

Bought a Carey concealment Rotor with tlr1 and fits quite well! Shipped out within 48 hours of purchase. Couldn’t be happier with it.

I'm trying to decide between the Rotor and the X1 Raptor for a PDP/TLR1.  Does the gun click into place (around the light)?  What caused you to go with the Rotor over the X1 Raptor?

  11. I'm looking for a light bearing holster for my Polymer PDP with the TLR1.  I'll mainly use this for Carry Optics and some 3-gun.  I currently have a Comp-Tac International DOH that I'm happy with so I'll likely just buy a body to put on the Comp-Tac belt slide and DOH.  This will be my first light bearing holster to compete with.  I've listed a few that I'm considering below and I'd love to hear some feedback on these.  I've been a solid B-class shooter for years but beginning to work on becoming more competitive.  I don't have to have the best but I do appreciate a good quality holster that will last for years.  I feel I need a DOH and believe that too much retention can cause the holster to tilt up during a draw.  Of course too little tension can cause issues..... especially for 3-gun.  Maybe there's not a one holster for all once you add a light to the gun.

I appreciate any help with deciding what to purchase.  I welcome other options.

  12. I've been a Glock guy for 24 years and finally going to try a new platform.  I have my first PDP(a PDP Pro SD 5.1") coming in tomorrow and also have a ZRT captured SS 15lb rod coming as well.

I'd be curious to hear opinions on the difference between this and the Long Stroke.

Hmm, not sure why you posted this here, but I will concur that they do good work. They’ve done two Glock slides for me and I’m very happy with their work.

It seems that I drifted my own thread, LOL.  I was having malfunctions with a Brownells slide that I tried to resolve.  Along the way one of my attempts was mag springs.  In the end I sent the slide back to Brownells for a refund and send a G34 slide to BattleWerx.  I suspect my malfunctions will be gone now.

  14. Update:

The Wolff +10% springs are considerably weaker than my old Dawson springs.  This pic shows the Wolff spring after leaving loaded for two days.  I'm going back to Dawson springs which have been 100% reliable with the exception of the Glock 17 with Brownells slide.

I've returned the Brownells slide and have sent a G34 slide to BattleWorx to be milled for a 507 cut.

  15. I've shot my EDC Glock 43X at quite a few USPSA matches in Limited.  I shoot Limited because I carry AIWB and that's legal.  To help even the playing field, I do use Shield Arms 20 round mags for matches.  Even though I haven't had an issue with the Shield Arms mags in 2000 rounds, I don't totally trust them and use OEM mags for carry.  I also shot several IDPA matches with my G43 (with Vickers +2 extensions) quite a few years ago.

I have began to dabble in CO and putting together a G17/407C gun but I will circle back and shoot my 43X from time to time in matches for good measure.

  16. Oh, one more thing.   My QC10 never ran 100% until I went 100% QC10.  I have 1000 rounds of a variety of ammo with zero malfunctions now.  I suspect you might do fine with the right combination of parts but working through getting mine to run was frustrating.  IMO I think it's important to match the lower, bolt and barrel from the same mfr.
