  1. Very cool. I haven't seen this before. Kinda spendy but seems like it works well.

    Gen 3 or Gen 4

I have found more mush and creep with or without the dot connector in all the gen 4 pistols I have worked on as compared to the gen 3. It just doesn't have the same trigger feel in my opinion which is why I prefer the gen 3. There are things I really like about the gen 4 (larger magazine catch, backstraps, etc) but difference in trigger feel prevents me from jumping in with both feet on the gen 4.
  3. dang autocorrect!!! Should have been "how is durability" not disability

    Gritty take up

If you have polished all the parts that contact during the trigger cycle it is possible you are just feeling the difference in the yen 4 trigger housing geometry as it relates to the connector / trigger bar etc. Call me crazy but to me the gen 4's to me feel somewhat gritty...or mushy def. different than a gen 3 gun. Have you tried using a dot connector or the minus connector on the gen 4? That could help.

    Gen 3 or Gen 4

This! I know glock tried to address the trigger on the gen 4 guns by using the dot connector that has a slightly modified angle (+6 degrees) I still tend to find more mush and creep in the gen 4 guns even with the updated dot connectors. This has been true with all of the guns I have inspected in our department. Because of this reason, I very much prefer the gen 3 trigger when running all stock parts and springs.
  6. How is disability on the SC for those that use them? I am on the fence of SC over just applying custom cut grip tape or skateboard tape.
  7. I have been using 147 gr in 9mm and 200 gr with my .40 cal I have been happy with the results so far.
  8. Welcome Seabee! I am in Bismarck. USPSA is a lot of fun isn't it
  9. Ergo XT's feel just like skateboard tape. I really like them.
  10. I had loaded and shot 3.5 gr of clays for a minor load in my Glock 35. Very soft shooting. I would have to find my load data to give you OAL.
  11. I just loaded up some test loads with Unique and had the chance to run them through the chrono. I was developing a major power factor load using bare lead bullets. My setup is as follows - Glock 35 w/storm lake barrel 180gr lead Missouri Bullets TCFP mixed brass winchester primer 1.133 - OAL Here are my results with 3 different loads. 4.5 gr of Unique yielded the following: 983 fps 969 987 956 993 -------- 977 fps avg. extreme spread of 37 and a standard deviation 14 4.7 gr 1024 fps 984 991 998 992 -------- 997 fps avg. extreme spread of 40 and SD of 15 5.0 gr 1023 989 972 1033 1015 -------- 1006 avg ES-61 SD-25 I settled on the 4.7gr. because if I throw out the first shot high reading it brings my avg. fps to 991.21 with and extreme spread of 14 and a power factor of 178. Seems to shoot well and chrono'd pretty consistent.
  12. Thanks. I was kind of looking at the Ameriglo for sights. Same dimensions in front blade and rear notch as the sevigny but about $25-30 cheaper. Is there any benefits over spending the extra on the Sevigny set? Here is a pic of the ameriglo They also have a different rear sight that has a slightly wider notch but gives a bit longer sight plane as pictured below.
  13. Thanks Jman. I think that settles it....looks like I will pick up a lb. of Unique tomorrow. I also plan on playing with some titegroup in the future with jacked/plated bullets. One thing I forgot to mention is that I do have about 15lbs of 700x that i have been loading in my .45's. This doesn't seem like it would be too bad of an option either from what I have been reading. I am openly seeking advice as all my other reloading has been done with the low pressure round of the .45acp and just want to make sure I am finding something consistent in the higher pressured 40 s&w round.
  14. Please excuse if this has been covered many times before. I have searched and searched and haven't found a solid answer. I have recently loaded up some nice minor pf loads using clays and a 180gr bare lead round nose flat point bullet. This is out of a Glock 35 with a storm lake barrel. Since I am shooting on a budget and will be shooting bare cast lead bullets primarily I am looking for some powder advice. From everything I have read it looks like I don't want to work up a major pf load using clays. I have read a bit on Unique but are there any others out there? I am looking to buy a pound of powder and do some loading this weekend. The only thing that may change would be possibly loading with a 170gr TC bare lead bullet. Looking for something that is somewhat smokefree if possible and am also wondering how much difference in power factor a 170gr bullet would change from a 180gr. Thanks in advance.
  15. Precision Bullets is the brand. They are a coated lead bullet...... here is what they say about them on the website Precision Bullets are swaged with certified 6/2 lead alloy. We then apply our unique dry-lube formula. This process completely encases the precision lead core. What does this mean for you? Safe for indoor ranges. No leading in the barrel. Fire more rounds downrange between cleanings. Load twice as long and twice as much before cleaning your dies. Less smoke since no messy wax lubricants are used. Precision Bullets cost only a few dollars more than the cheapest cast lead bullets, but they give you jacketed bullet ballistics. They are clean, safe and accurate. You can fire our bullets at over 2000 feet per second with no leading and no copper fouling and no messy lubricants. The tough coat protects the bullet from damage and is a natural lubricant. It keeps the bullet at tight factory dimensions and goes through the bore intact. That means no lead on your hands, no lead dust and no toxic fumes. Even long sessions at the loading bench or when shooting on indoor ranges. It means clean hands, clean guns, clean reloading dies - and clean air. And you get a bullet which is highly uniform in weight and dimension.
  16. Does a person always need to install the reduced firing pin spring as well that comes with the Wolff sets? I just got some springs and was wondering if most people switch both springs.
  17. Shot my glock 35 in an informal match today. I was really pleased with the gun. I was a bit worried about function on the gun since I was shooting reloads but the gun ran fine. I need to look into getting some different sights on the gun but overall I am pretty happy. There were only 12 of us shooting today but I ended up 2nd overall. Wanted to thank everyone for the information provided on this forum as it really helped out with my reloading and gun setup. Thanks!

    Sight Question

How do you know what front and rear height combo to go with? I am looking for sights for my new Glock 35
  19. I went with an aftermarket barrel more for the extra chamber support and as an added benefit can shoot lead without any worries.
  20. Yes I do load my own....have a 550B setup. Will be shooting hard cast lead out of this gun. Have been reading and it looks like most people are loading with Clays for powder so I will probably pick up a pound of that to start working up some loads.
  21. Well I have a start on things. Ordered a few different wolff and ISMI recoil springs, a stainless guiderod, barrel, grip tape, and a couple arredondo +5 base pads. Should get me started.
  22. I just got a G35 that I plan on using for both production and limited. I am making a short list of items I need to order for the gun. I will be putting a Storm Lake barrel in the gun so I can shoot my lead reloads. I plan on loading some minor and major loads for this gun and am confused at what springs I should get. Can I use a stainless steel guide rod and still be legal in production? I was just going to order a 11, 13, 15, and 17lb spring for the gun but if I don't need them all I won't order them all. I am also wondering if a wolff trigger group spring set would make much difference. Thanks in advance.
  23. Well I spent a couple hours at the gun shop yesterday.... and believe it or not I came home with a Glock 35. I did a lot of hands on comparisons with a few different guns and decided to bite the bullet. Funny thing is the Glock didn't feel as blocky in my hand as I had remembered in the past..... so I went with the Glock. It was even on sale
  24. So....have been shooting in some USPSA/IDPA stuff and have the bug pretty bad. I am looking to get a gun setup that I can shoot prod. and limited with. I have read and read and researched like crazy. I thought I had it pretty much narrowed down to getting a 9mm XDm.... but from all my searching it doesn't seem like a lot of people are using this model? I have played with the Glocks and as much as I would love to be a Glocker...they just don't feel good in my hand. I was looking at 9mm since I have a ton of brass a friend gave me, but it seems like everyone shoots .40 for limited?? Is it uncommon for someone to load a 9mm up to major power factor? I am just looking for a good option to be able to get a gun that does a couple things well. I am pretty much set on getting either a XDm or possibly a M&P. My gunshop here is limited in selection though. Could you guys help me with some feedback. Thanks in advance.
  25. We have been getting together here in Bismarck at the new indoor range. I have never done it before and it is more so some of the others can keep their skills up.
