  1. WOW!!! The match filled in just a little over a day. For those of you who made a trip to the post office to make sure your registration was postmarked on Saturday, February 1st, it was well worth the trip. All registrations postmarked on February 1st took up just about all the open slots we have. We now have a waiting list that is growing day by day. Match confirmations were sent to those who are registered for the match. Waiting List notifications were also sent. If you had sent in a registration and had not yet received an email from me, contact me right away. For those of you in the waiting list, stay very hopeful. If we get more sponsors this year, we could expand the match and keep it within the 2-day format. Bear in mind also that we have a quite a number of slots currently blocked off for sponsors who (by the nature of the game) are a vital part in the success of all matches. Those slots, if unused, will eventually open up to those on the waiting list. As we get closer to the match date, more information regarding the match will be sent via email and posted on our websites, Facebook pages, and the forums.
  2. The match is currently full. Match confirmations or standby list notifications are going out to each individual that sent in a registration. I'll give an update later after I complete sending all the notifications.
  3. The entry form says $250 for adults and $125 for juniors. 2014 Midwest 3-Gun Entry.doc
  4. Confirmation emails will be sent out shortly to those who are registered from the early registration. For the regular open registration, I batch the envelopes by the postmark dates, and I give it a few days before I open the mail as to give the mail sent from a further distance the proper time to get in. The order is determined by the postmark, not the day it arrives. Once I open them, you will receive a confirmation email.
  5. Attached is the registration form for the 2014 Nordic Components Tactical Shotgun Championship to be held on June 28-29, 2014. The registration officially opens on February 1st. All registrations will be placed in the order of the date they were postmarked. There will not be any need for special shipping such as next day or expedited services. Once the match fills, a waiting list will be started and that order will also be based on the postmark date. The Match fee is $150 for adults and $50 for juniors. Please note our refund policy noted on the registration form. We are excited for this match and we have a lot of things planned. We have all the intentions of keeping the reputation of this match as the premier tactical shotgun match. We look forward to seeing you all again soon. 6. Match fee is $150 for adults, $50 for juniors. Checks should be made out to Minnesota 3-Gun Group.
  7. Reminder: Early registrations for those that shot our match in both 2012 and 2013 will be ending this Friday. Open registrations will begin this Saturday, February 1st. Any early registration forms postmarked on or after February 1st will be placed in the same order by postmark as regular registrations. A question was asked if hand delivering their registrations to me would work. To keep it fair for everyone who is not local, I will mark the date you deliver your registration to me and batch it accordingly with all the others postmarked on the same day. But just a heads-up, I’ll be out of town this weekend so plan accordingly. Jomar
  8. The registration form for the 1st round was privately emailed to all 25+ shooters who shot our match in both 2012 and 2013. They have 2 weeks to send in their registrations. If you are one of these folks and did not receive an email from me, contact me at Jomar.mn3gg@gmail.com. In the evening hours of January 31st, the regular registration form (different from the 1st round) will be emailed out to everyone on our mailing list, posted on our websites and Facebook pages, and posted on the forums. On February 1st, open registration begins and all registrations postmarked on that date and after will be placed in the order of when they were postmarked.
  9. Happy New Year to everyone! We have gotten a lot of inquiries as to when the registration will be opening up for the 4th Annual Nordic Components Tactical Shotgun Match. Last year’s match filled up and to maintain the same quality match (and generous prize table), we will keep the match size the same for this year. That will mean that this match will surely fill up again. We want to thank all of you who have participated in our match these past years and helped us make this event the premier tactical shotgun match. To show our appreciation, we have decided that registration for this year’s match will be done in two rounds. The 1st round of registrations will open up on January 18th and WILL ONLY be for those who participated in our match in both the past two years (2012 and 2013). This 1st round of registration will only be open for 2 weeks and will end on January 31st. The 1st round registrations forms will be posted on the forums and emailed to the distribution list on the evening hours of January 17th. All 1st round registrations must be postmarked between January 18th and January 31st. The 2nd round of registrations will open up on February 1st and will be for everyone. The 2nd round registration forms (different from the 1st round) will be posted on the forums and emailed to the distribution list on the evening hours of January 31st. All 2nd round registrations must be postmarked on February 1st or later. All registrations will be placed in the order of the date they were postmarked. There will not be any need for special shipping such as next day or expedited services. Any 2nd round registrations with a postmark earlier than February 1st will be placed accordingly with the number of days it was sent ahead (i.e. if it was sent 1 day early, it will be placed in the end of the February 2nd postmarked batch). Once the match fills, a waiting list will be started and that order will also be based on the postmark date. We are excited for this match and we have a lot of things planned. We have all the intentions of keeping the reputation of this match as the premier tactical shotgun match.
  10. Completely agree with Benelli Chick and Flatland Shooter. For our Nordic Comp Tactical Shotgun Match which is not as big as the 3-Gun matches, we ran into the issue of having enough RO's to man all 14 stages. We had approximately 14 RO's, so what we did is a combination of a stage and travelling RO, and a schedule that allowed an open stage in between each squad. We assigned each RO a stage to be the SRO and to run it under the exact same rules for consistency. So if a squad is on Stage 1 and Stage 2 is open, the SRO in Stage 2 would be the assistant RO for Stage 1. When the squad is finished with Stage 1 and move onto Stage 2, the RO's changes roles. It worked for us, but like I said, it was a smaller match then the 3-gun matches.

  13. Nordic Components and the Minnesota 3-Gun Group (Facebook) are pleased to announce the 4th Annual Tactical Shotgun Championship (Facebook) to be held on June 28th-29th, 2014. We will again have 14 fun and challenging stages with a high round count that will make feel your shotgun heat up. The same wonderful and generous sponsors that provided for our great prize table are once again in line to do so, and we are working to add even more. This match will be held at the Forest Lake Sportsmen’s Club in the beautiful Forest Lake in the outskirts of the Minneapolis/St Paul Metro Area. The club offers a spacious shooting area spread over 100 acres of land. The area features numerous hotels and venues as well as numerous attractions. Registrations will open in January. Slots will be limited. Last year, we reached our max and had over 2 dozen people on the waiting list. The match website will soon be updated to provide more match info. Contacts for the match will be Jay at jay@mn3gungroup.org and Jomar at jomar.mn3gg@gmail.com.
  14. I remember that!!! A guy on my squad running and gunning with his rifle when the sling of his shotgun broke in one attachment. He picked it up and held onto the sling with his teeth as he continued on. It wasn't pretty, but very impressive.
  15. Welcome to the forum from a fellow Minnesotan. Don't know much about clay shooting or have much experience with OU shotguns, so I can't answer your question. If you're interested in expanding your shooting sport horizon, take a look at 3-gunning. It's the fastest growing shooting sport, and we have an organization right here in Minnesota that promotes the 3-gun sport and other action shooting competitions. Take a look at our website at www.mn3gungroup.org or find us in Facebook. If you have any questions, fell free to ask. Again, welcome. Jomar

  17. "6.3.2.6 No shotgun in Tactical class may be loaded with more than 9 rounds at any time, or hold over 8 rounds in the magazine tube." The max your shotgun tube can be loaded at any time (including after the buzzer) is 8 rounds, 9 if you have one in the chamber.
  18. I have a question about slung long guns and the 180 rule which I can't find the answer to in the rules. If I remember right, slung rifles are always empty and slung shotgun may either be empty of tube loaded with the bolt closed on an empty chamber. Rule 2.4 states "A participant shall be disqualified for allowing the muzzle of his/her loaded firearm to break the safety plane (except while holstered, or reholstering.)" At what point does the 180 rule apply to the slung long guns.? I have a sling method I like but the muzzle will momentarily point backwards as I swing the long gun to my front where I would load it. If that gun is the shotgun with the tube loaded, is it considered a loaded gun? I'm pretty sure what the answer is, but I just want to an official answer. After all, safety is top priority along with not getting disqualified. Thanks all.
  19. That was a very impressive run on that stage Jesse. The original design of that stage was with less targets. We contemplated limiting the par time for Open Shooters to 20 seconds. We opted to add more targets. You were the only one who cleaned up all 35 targets within the par time (and with 2 seconds to spare at that). Closet anyone came to you was two other Open Shooters at 29 total hits each. You were just too fast.
  20. Whew! I'm glad you finally owned up to that. I was worried they were going to keep on suspecting it was me as I was the only one that was happy to see that stage get thrown out. It was my first stage of the match, didn't listen carefully to the directions, shot the shotgun targets with my handgun, the handgun targets with the shotgun, and racked up a whole lot of penalties.
  21. Last year, we got on the road to head home about 10PM on the Saturday after the awards, auction, and final visits.
