  1. Is the holster mounted to the ELS or does it require the QLS? I plan to get a new holster for my M&P, either LAG Super Nova or Nerd. I've been running Blade Teks and plan to attach the ELS to them like Tim suggests. I'm not committed to the belt position enough yet to drill holes. Thanks
  2. Welded lifter, opened port/polished, added a few parts. Great to work with and great work.
  3. I'm using an ALG V1 and block clearance is not an issue. I'm using the SLR clamp on version and it's the first adjustable I've ever used.
  4. Here's another thread that may help. I did the gutted buffer with JP polished spring and finally added a SLR7 adj gas block. I'm using the RISE Armament brake on the Stretch 16 melonited barrel. What I found for me was not really muzzle rise but muzzle movement. One of Tim's comments made me realize that I was helping the gun "dip" rather than "rise". Once I tuned the gas, I grip the hand guard in a more "neutral" way and now have very little muzzle movement. There are several other threads that my help you.
  5. Got to shoot the new Stretch for the second time but still only about 75 rounds through it. This is at 100 yds with a Vortex 1-4 with a 55gr handload. I'm pretty happy with it.
  6. I have the PRO and MRO and like both of them. Field of view and weight are better on the MRO but I like them both.
  7. Please help me decide between the Faxon Gunner 18" and the Stretch 16. If the answer is the Stretch, do you recommend fluted or non fluted? I current shoot a BCM ELW KMR with a MRO in Factory division. Thanks Eric
  8. Ordered the stainless rod and springs. Thanks for the tip.
  9. Will the bolt lock open all the way to the rear? Does it have a low mass bcg in it?
  10. Patrick You and several others discussed this method in another thread and I tried it for the first time this week. This is a great tip and was really easy to grasp. The video makes it even clearer. I went from trying to keep the red dot still (impossible) to controlling the movement and focusing on breaking the shot. The difference for me is night and day. Thank you and others for the tip and thanks for an informative video. Eric I used this technique today at our club match to shoot a pistol rack at 100 yds today. Way cool for me!
  11. Found this last week. Great show!
  12. http://www.genco-inc.com/ These guys have dummy rounds
  13. I have a M&P built in '11. I never had accuracy issues until recently with the old barrel and was considering buying a KKM replacement. Based on others' experiences with S&W, I sent the gun to them with an explanation of the accuracy issues. I told them the factory rounds I was shooting. They replaced the barrel and I got it back in 3 weeks. The new barrel shoots 2-2 1/2" at 20 yards. I also shot it at 50 yards for the first time just for kicks. I pulled one shot but the other 9 were in a 4-4 1/2" group. This is with a Bayou 135gr RN over 3.9gr of 231 which is my standard reload and I was using my range bag as a rest. One thing that I will mention is something that I learned on this forum several years ago regarding shooting the M&P off a bag. I don't rest my hands and the gun on the bag. I rest my forearms on the bag and the gun doesn't touch it. I don't know how or why this may affect the accuracy but it did for me. Maybe it's just some sort of voodoo from years ago but you may want to try it with a load you trust. If that doesn't help, sent it to Smith.
  14. I got the gun from S&W on Thursday and took it to the range today. I've been wondering if I would need to work up a new load for the new barrel. The new barrel shot about an inch at 10 yds and around 2-2 1/2 at 20 yds. I also shot it at 50 yds, which I've never done with a pistol. The 10 shots a terrible pulled shot low and the other 9 were in about a 4 inch group. All of the groups were shot with my range bag as support.
  15. That's the plan. I've had the gun since '11 and only recently sent it to them when I started considering a new barrel. If this one doesn't shoot more accurately, I'll be going down the KKM or Apex trail.
  16. Looks like you've had a busy couple of days.
  17. That's funny. I'll try out the new one first.
  18. S&W has replaced my older barrel with the new one. I have been shooting Bayou 135gr with 3.9gr of 231 in the old barrel. I have a few trial packs of BBI including 125, 135, and 147gr. What do you recommend for the new barrels? Thanks, Eric
  19. How do you get on Dan's schedule? I've sent him several emails and only received the auto-reply. I've sent him pm's on this site but no replies. Do you just complete the work order and send him the gun without scheduling an appointment? I've been trying periodically for over a year.
  20. I realize your mags are new, but can you borrow some different mags. I would probably try to contact a gunsmith who works on Trojans and get their opinion.
