  1. Thanks Matt. I am hitting the mag release with my strong hand thumb. I have to shift my grip in order to do that which is probably why it appears that I'm hitting it with my index finger. Anyone can do it...all it takes is work. I'll have to dig around for my old Production gear, but if you give me a few days I will definitely try and put one together for ya.
  2. I agree with Kyle. Man TL...is there a pro sports figure you actually do like?
  3. Cool Brian. I have actually done that screwing around before, but mainly because I was bored. Next time I make it out to the range I might try it and really "listen" to my body.
  4. Crap...Wish I would have read this thread yesterday.
  5. In pistol competition I would go as far as to say you should always make up a miss if you know it is there...note: that doesn't mean get done shooting wait 5 seconds and shoot again.
  6. To spell the start position out so that everyone gets it takes what....an extra 60 seconds than cutting it short? For a 10 squad match that is 10 minutes for the day....big deal, take as much time as you need.
  7. Now that I've had a little time, let me elaborate a bit further. I don't think the problem ever was my arms...I think I was too relaxed as a whole behind the gun. Shooting Open made me lazy in my technique, it wasn't until I took a hard look at my whole shooting platform and shot something with some recoil that I actually realized it.
  8. That's the normal position my arms are at when I shoot. Yeah that's what TJ said about my shooting as well...I guess I disagree with both of you.
  9. Well fellas, I sold my Open gun. So when I come back, I will be working on this with a Limited gun instead.
  10. JT, I'm not 100% sure. If I had to guess, those are probably low .6's. DP, You're my hero man. Shake and Bake!!! EZ, Sorry, I don't have a higher quality video...that is the best quality I can get out of my camera.
  11. Thanks bro. Yeah, I've shot with this much bend in my arms for as long as I can remember. I'm sure it got more exaggerated the longer that I shot Open, but it transfers over to the Limited platform for me well. I think it does help me transition quicker, but it also feels like I have more control of the gun than I would with arms straight out. Feels like it makes me a little bit more adaptable to the recoil I guess would be a good way of putting it.
  12. I started shooting by point shooting through my first few years, it got me great speed, but I never got great hits. I later pounded in using sights and that has worked great for me since. That being said, I'd love to actually do some training with your system and see the results. Afterall...the mark of a champion is always keeping your mind open to change and improvement.
  13. Finally got around to making another dry fire reload vid...this time around with the Limited gun and got the Front, Left, and Right angles. The Reload - Limited Style Reload Catch
  14. Jerry Barnhart with an EO tech I think? No idea if anyone accused him of cheating.
  15. I totally agree with Rich as well. Fortunately in our justice system (perhaps one of the last great things about it), you need more than "he said."
  16. .9 draw with .19 splits. That is cookin pretty good. I couldn't do that. My best is like 2.04
  17. I also thought the rules said if it isn't corrected after that 1st hour, it's all said it done. That happened to a friend of mine at Nationals...there was like 100 seconds added on to one stage and it probably dropped him 15 places in the overall standings....even they said it couldn't be corrected, and this was at the awards ceremony.
  18. DP is spot on. How many times to practice? A lot. A lot more than you think. I've always said that if you want a kick ass reload, dry fire 10,000 reloads a week for 2 months. Gman, I used to put a laundry basket full of some towels in a chair and practice over that.
  19. My personal feeling is it is too easy to be a GM now. In all honesty, I probably should not be one. Granted, there are times when I have a moment of clarity and can win a stage or two at the Nationals, but by and large in terms of consistency and overall match performance, I'm not good enough....yet.
  20. If you beat 3 GMs, but Max Michel pummels you by 25%, are you still a GM?
  21. That may be what is written on USPSA's site....but it doesn't happen. If you don't believe me, look at past results for area matches. Record the names of the class winners and look in other matches and see if they are still that class or not.
  22. Perry, Umm, I'm not sure what you mean by a sandbagger can only do it once? There is no provision for automatically bumping shooters right now....most sand baggers (especially some foreign shooters who do not even shoot classifiers in our system) do it numerous times and are still doing it now. For two, Ben was talking 2nd overall for Ronnie. There is currently no award for 2nd overall. There are class winners and Division winner.
  23. Hold on....let me understand this....I am egotistical and immature because I don't judge a class win to be on even par with a division win?!?!? Let me ask you something. If you start working a new job and you have been there for a year, should you be getting the same benefits and pay as someone who has been working there for 5 years or 10 years? I already know you're going to say "it isn't the same thing." But it is....people who have put in more work do deserve it more. And still even they don't deserve it as much as the person who put in the most work. I understand everyone starts somewhere....starting point or present skill level are not the issue here....the issue is aspirations. Do you want to be the best or settle for less? Most people settle. Because of that, to me talk - action = nothing. While you may consider me egotistical and immature...I can live with that...in my eyes those things are better than being mediocre. I strive for excellance in everything I do and do not accept anything less.
