  6. I usually include a rule book, timer, and pen/paper to make notes and reminders for future reference. I also carry a pair of suspenders to help hold my pants up. I'm not near as svelte today as I was 30 years ago.
  7. We would like to invite you and yours to come and shoot in Wheelgunners Revenge the 14th Annual ICORE Central States Revolver Championship at Bend of the River Conservation Club in Buchanan, MI (application available at BORCC-ICORE or www.ICORE.org.) The Central States Revolver Championship is now the largest single day double action revolver match in the USA. We hope you can join us for this celebration of the shooting sports. Wheelgunners Revenge is held rain or shine May 20, 2012. Bend of the River Conservation Club has added some new bays. We will now have 9 stages. The maximum round count will be 275 rounds. A BBQ lunch is included in the match application. We have some new companies providing prizes this year in addition to the many supporters in past years.

  9. The 14th Annual Wheelgunners Revenge will be held Sunday May 6, 2012 at Bend of the River Conservation Club. The month of the match has been changed for cooler weather. The past few years July has just been too hot and hard on shooters and staff. I am looking for range officers. I will update this thread with more information. I am looking for range officers and volunteers to help setup, give breaks, and reset steel. Please contact Bruce with questions or to volunteer. 11. Bruce Cook here. I co-Match Directed with Bill handling the administrative and club side of things. I've been so busy I didn't even think to drop over to the forumj. I knew Bill was posting though. A couple of comments I would like to make. 1. A big thanks to Brian Enos for his generous prize donations. Brian was the first person to make a donation when I sent out requests. The books and supplies sure increased my motivation to keep soliciting prizes. Thanks Brian, your shirt should be on its way soon. (I'm taking a quick vacation the latter part of the week). 2. Bill did a heck of a job running the match. I had a blast shooting all the stages. I found the mix to be perfect, enough simplicity for a novice like me, challenging enough to make it interesting, smooth shooting with the squads, and lots of rounds. Hats off Bill. Bill is also great to work with. 3. Wheelgunners Revenge would not be the great match it is without the wonderful dedicated shooters we attract each year. Give yourselves a pat on the back. 4. JD, Match Director Emeritus has laid a solid foundation for WGR. We thank him for his hard work over the years. I've all ready started planning next years match and looking forward to the process. We have started a Wheelgunners Revenge Facebook page to keep those of you who use Facebook up to date. Keep your cylinders turning!!
  12. I am cooking the lunch BBQ for the match that is included in the match fee. I would like to add that an all you can eat biscuits and gravy breakfast will be served Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7:00 am to match start. Cost is $5.00. Bruce Brisket Dog BBQ
  13. If you have been using it like this for awhile you might consider returning it to Dillon for a refurbish. I think it runs about $35.
  14. Hit Factor Shooting Supply on ebay has a nice quick adjust kit for the Dillon 650. The shellplate works great too.
  15. I watched the Brian Enos video, began to set it up, and noticed how stiff and discolored some parts were and the surface rust. So I sent it back Friday. I hope its back by the end of the month. The 2 SDs I sent in were back before my check cleared.
  16. There's a video by Larry Potterfield over on Midway USA that shows how Larry did it. He cut it off close with a hacksaw, used a Dremel to smooth things up, and then polished it.
  17. Yes, the Square Deal is faster and you will see a significant increase in loading speed. I started out with the LCT and then picked up a SD 6 months later. I bought another SD several months later. Just bought a 650 last week. So I'll be getting rid of at least one of the SDs soon. BTW, I hang out on INGO some.
  18. From following this story. It does look like he has developed a mental illness. However, having said that he is till responsible for his actions. Good thoughts to all our troops and their families.
  19. I just bought a used/brand new Dillon 650 with a case feeder and multiple caliber setups. This was purchased by a guy brand new in 1994. He never set it up and loaded any rounds on it. It was unpacked and I don't have the original box. There is some "aging" from lack of use. Would I be smart to send it to Dillon to get refurbished? I got a good price and the extra $$ to do this wouldn't hurt the pocketbook or the deal I got. Does Dillon refurbish case feeders too? I know they have been modified a little since that time. Thanks
  20. I ran across this thread while searching to see if others use a Walther P99. I started a couple of years ago with one. I carry the FS as my CCW and like it. No problems with the trigger or mag release here. No gun related failures. A couple that were caused by ammo though. I changed the sights to the XS Big Dots and didn't care for them with USPCA shooting. Ended up switching to a 1911 and have stayed.
  21. I got a good pair from www.safevision.net.. They are out of St. Louis. I'm very happy with the glasses. They also talked me out of spending some extra money with them because they thought it was a waste. I looked over their website and talked to them on the phone before committing.
  22. I'm not a nest freak but here's mine about a year ago. I've added a few things but you wouldn't notice it. I have another SD that replaces the Lee, small air compressor, and a cleaning bench off to the side.
  23. My Kimber TLE. The more I shoot it the more I like it.
  24. I'm shooting a local ICORE match this weekend and will join then. I'm borrowing a 625 to use and am looking for one locally to buy.
  25. I used to be scared of flying pre-9/11 and would not fly at all. Shortly after 9/11 happened my attitude changed to "BLANK the terrorists, I'm flying to support our country and not let terrorism win." My first flight was about 6 months later and I've been flying for trips and vacations 4-5x per year now. I'm a big guy so comfort is my only real issue anymore. I sit on the aisle cause terrorists are going to have to go through and over me to get to the pilots. Homeland Security is a joke and IMO irrelevant. Passengers are not going to let terrorists or hijackers take over a plane in the U.S. again. I would prefer a decrease in airport security and an increase in airplane safety.
