  1. Make up 12-18 dummy rounds, or buy some snap caps, and practice your reloads, that will help quite a bit
  2. Another great day at Caswell Ranch, thanks to Dean and Bev for great match and hospitality
  3. The 6" is great for long range and hunting, as well as , USPSA and ICORE, but if you also want to shoot IDPA, get the 3 7/8" so you can use one gun in all 3 games
  4. Looks like we are going to have a pretty good tunout for the ICORE match tomorrow, hopefully I can convince a few to come shoot at Sir Walter next match
  5. The 6" barrel will hold down recoil and give better sight radius, but will not clear the holster or track as fast as a 4" or 5" will. The 6" is fine for USPSA and ICORE, but too long (4" max) for IDPA. Best of luck to you and your son, my son just earned a slot at this year's USPSA Nationals in Vegas, I get to tag along and go on the waiting list
  6. I'll also bring my 6" 57 with all gear and ammo, if anyone brings a new shooter to the match, they are more than welcome to use the gun, ammo and gear
  7. I'll bring 6 extra comp 3 speedloaders for both K and L frames, if anyone needs them
  8. Better use that sight tomorrow my friend, if you win again it will be well earned
  9. looking forward to meeting and shooting with you tomorrow tac-driver
  10. All great advice so far from everyone, but no mention of a revolver. I love my revo's and look at it this way, a new shooter learning to shoot a revo, is like a new driver learning with a stick and clutch, forgotten arts
  11. Well check that out, Jr. is now on the forum, welcome son
  12. Just for the record Tom, I will be using my front sight tomorrow, maybe
  13. I'm going to try hard to make this one, might be up at my parents house in northern NJ that week, and the match is about 2 1/2 hours away, just might see you there, can't bring you the deed just yet, but I can give you the address to mail the mortgage payments and in just 26 more years, they will be happy to send you the deed !!!
  14. I've owned every piece of equipment that Dillon makes and they are all great, if you are only planning 500 rounds per month, I would go with the 550, just my opinion
  15. Craig, I'm going to give it my best to attend, thank you for the invite, if I shoot your IDPA match, I just might hit my 100 Procedurals for the year before July, that will be the earliest Procedural award to date, John Z
  16. Hey Dean, Looks like the National Champ will grace our presence, you alert ESPN and the media, I'll handle the security and transportation, buy stock in Coors light, it will go up
  17. One question, is it going to be warm enough for a thong??? Cliff, I don't think it EVER gets "Warm Enough" for a THONG in North Carolina...God, I hope I'm RIGHT!!! I'm TRYING to get "the Boss" to consider a "Short Drive"--MY term--to N.C. for this Match...don't need any "Help" from Cliff!!!... ....mikey357 Mikey, please take the short drive up, don't worry, the State of North Carolina has banned the wearing of thongs by men in public, except in Chapel Hill, but that's another story
  18. Shoot what you have and enjoy it, then someday you can get crazy like some of us and shoot a round gun
  19. Welcome to you and especially your son, HE is our future and looks like he is on the right track, best of luck
  20. Looks like the NC ICORE State Match in May is really starting to shape up, hope to see some of you there
  21. Check with Dean, he can probably fix it for you before the match Saturday
  22. Hope you gents can make it, Walsh vs. Buckland , an epic battle, tickets on sale now
  23. Congrats, proves that a great shooter does not need the most expensive gear, nicely done my friend !!!
  24. Would love to shoot with you Craig, if I had an IDPA SSR hero, it would be you, maybe
