Make up 12-18 dummy rounds, or buy some snap caps, and practice your reloads, that will help quite a bit

The 6" is great for long range and hunting, as well as , USPSA and ICORE, but if you also want to shoot IDPA, get the 3 7/8" so you can use one gun in all 3 games

Looks like we are going to have a pretty good tunout for the ICORE match tomorrow, hopefully I can convince a few to come shoot at Sir Walter next match

The 6" barrel will hold down recoil and give better sight radius, but will not clear the holster or track as fast as a 4" or 5" will. The 6" is fine for USPSA and ICORE, but too long (4" max) for IDPA. Best of luck to you and your son, my son just earned a slot at this year's USPSA Nationals in Vegas, I get to tag along and go on the waiting list

I'll also bring my 6" 57 with all gear and ammo, if anyone brings a new shooter to the match, they are more than welcome to use the gun, ammo and gear

I'll bring 6 extra comp 3 speedloaders for both K and L frames, if anyone needs them

I've owned every piece of equipment that Dillon makes and they are all great, if you are only planning 500 rounds per month, I would go with the 550, just my opinion
