  1. This is my first IRC and have received confirmation of my entry, and was wondering about round count.....does anyone have any idea? thanks, Steve
  2. just saw it on USPSA......congrats Nils.....Rob was second by 19 points......
  3. I know cell service is spotty out at PASA, have a few text messages sent out......but haven't heard.
  4. I have recently gotten into Revo shooting, both USPSA, and IDPA along with ICORE.....I have several new S&W revolvers.....I did have a minor issue with timing/trigger on a new model 64. I contacted S&W, and had it back within 10 days and it was repaired perfectly....no issues with the new S&W. Many prefer the older guns, especially for collectors....but for shooting them a ton....the new guns are just for that.... Steve
  5. thanks fellas.........i was shooting the SNS coated bullets that I bought at Dillon, and recently shot some of the Billy Bullets.... I will get a Lewis Lead remover and give that a shot along with the copper Chore boy! Steve H.
  6. I recently started shooting the Revolver, and have noticed a bit of lead build up in the forcing cone....especially in my 625.........any cool, easy techniques for cleaning it out. thanks
  7. All the XD/XDm/XDs line and all the parts are made in the Croatia factory...
  8. I can tell you that out here in the southwest, Mesa, AZ area, the revolver has seen an increase in the numbers.........I, for one, never shot Revo, and I started the IPSC/USPSA thing back in 1988, and a few months ago, bought a 627 from a friend just so I could shoot Revo in USPSA because of the 8 round minor rule. I have started to shoot some ICORE with it, and recently bought a 625 for the IDPA ESR division. I just want to get better with the Revo. I run a single stack 1911 match out here every year, this was year 12, and last year we added a Revo day to the match.....granted those shooters shot with the Staff on Friday, but I capped the Revolver shooters at 30 and I could have easily had 50+..........this year we did the same thing and I capped it at 50 and could have had 80-90 shooters. We had a lot of cross over shooters, IDPA and ICORE guys come and shoot, and no one had any negative things to say.........probably because they knew going in it was primarily a Single Stack match. I will say it was an advantage to the 8 shot gun, because of stage design. We plan to do the same thing next year, but my hope is that we make the Revo part of the match a toss up for the 6 vs. 8 shot shooter.........I talked with Rich Wolfe and Mike Carmoney a bit about this at the match, since I consider myself a rookie Revo guy, and both said that is hard to do, but not impossible. I have noticed, out here in our area anyway, that we get a lot of new shooters shooting our Tuesday steel match with whatever gun they might have owned, Glock, XD, M&P, Sig,or Single Stack, cool guy guns, etc, and they spend some time with that, and then move up to either Open, or Limited and spend a ton of money on those guns, because they want to be the fastest shooter out there, and see there name at the top of the combined scores. We have a lot of GM's out here, but only a few that you will see in the top 10 at Nationals.....we shoot so many classifers that that is bound to happen.......to me, the Open gun vs. the 8 shot revo is not really all that different........except the money put out for the gun and equipment. Of course, the Open gun is really only good for one thing.......USPSA/IPSC and going really fast, which is great! I never get into the us verses them argument.....to many want to take away our guns........I don't care what you shoot........just get out there and shoot!!!!! Anyway, I would bet money that we will see an upsurge of Revo shooters over the next few years, at least in Phoenix, AZ area we will. Steve
  9. I shoot mostly at Rio Salado, USPSA and Tuesday Steel.....have been shooting a little more IDPA at South Mountain on the weekends a bit, and the Tuesday night IDPA match. I haven't shot IDPA for a few years, and enjoy it, and need the match practice for the upcoming State match in Tucson. I don't get up to Ben Avery much, since I have lived in the way east valley. Whichever place you choose to shoot, there are lots of good people and you are in the heart of the action pistol universe. Steve
  10. That is what it looks like........thanks Warren.
  11. I had never heard of the Bayou bullets, but a friend of mine told me about them and we just split a case in 9mm.........thanks, I will clean the 625 again tonight, and shoot some 25 yard groups tomorrow....... thanks
  12. Thanks........I have a few thousand FMJ bullets left, and just started buying coated lead bullets from Dillon..... the rifling just doesn't seem to be really defined like I am used to seeing in my 1911's.
  13. I have only shot FMJ thru it........I will clean it again tonight and see.........it just doesn't look like really defined lands and grooves....
  14. I recently got a 625JM and have shot about 300 rounds thru it........the gun was new when I got it........and i have cleaned it a few times....the rifling looks odd......almost like Glock rifling.......is this normal.....it shoots just fine.. Steve
  15. where did you shoot your first match? Rio Salado, Phoenix Rod and Gun Club, or Ben Avery? Lots of great places to shoot here in the Valley!
  16. HI All, match has about 40 slots left for the single stack match......the revolver part of the match has about 20 slots left......ALL revolver shooters will shoot on Friday. My stats gal, Cheryl, is sending out confirmations........in the mean time, if your check has cleared, you are in the match.....so far, everyone is in....I will check with Cheryl on confirmations........ let me know if you have any questions.
  17. HI Gents, sorry about not getting on here much lately…..had my other hip replaced last week…….I did deposit some checks so far……..if it cleared, you are in….only have about 120 shooters so far……once I can sit up longer periods of time, I will get confirmations out…..probably mid week. Thanks, Steve
  18. This year's match has been pushed backed several weeks into the 2nd weekend of March. Attached is the match application. Match format will be the same as it has been the last several years. We will also have a revolver match on Friday, like we did this year, it will be limited to the first 30 shooters...Both match applications are attatched. This is a trophy only match. If you have any questions please let me know. Steve 12WSSSC 2014.doc Revo Championship 2014.doc
  19. I bought the entry level, I think it is the CRX 16, adn I really like it.....when I was getting a scope zeroed, I fired 3 shots of Federal Gold Medal match and all three shots were touching.....right at a 1/4 inch!!! the trigger is not bad, breaks clean.....it is right about 6 pounds. Steve
  20. Ok, here's the deal.......while i know that I am made of sugar.....and will melt in the rain....therefor I will be wearing a rain suit.....most of you won't melt.....the match is ready to go! I am with Jason.....30 to 60 % chance that it won't rain! Looking forward to seeing you all.........!
  21. One more thing, there will not be a shooter meeting....most of you don't like hearing me say the same old thing, so let's just get shooting those awesome 1911's!
  22. HI Guys, Not getting on here all that much, just checked in and wanted to send an update.......I sent an e-mail last night regarding check in information, and shoot times.....I will say that i had several e-mail addresses that I could not read...more e-mails kicked back to me that usual. That being said......Check in will be all day, after 1000, on Friday.....and should last until at least 5:00PM.....It will be in the new Training Center, which is located about 200 yards west of the Activity Center that we have used in the past......if you shot Area 2, it is the same place you checked in for that match. You need to be on your stage no later than 0720 Saturday morning as shooting will start at 0730.....round count is approximately 250 rounds....give or take....I sent out stages last night and similar updates that are on this message.....if you have any questions, please contact me at the match e-mail.... wsssc1@gmail.com as my singlestack40 account is overloaded now with shit!....i meant to say SPAM...... That match is looking great!.......props out to my buddy Kyle Schmidt, as he came up with really good stages, that are simple, yet challenging.....oh, and the awesome standards that we have had for 3 years now..... I look forward to seeing you all, and it appears that the weather gods have smiled upon us with 74 degree weather all week end! Steve
