Well, I have talked to a number of champions and they don't always say publicly what they are feeling inside. When i was at the peak of my shooting, I could zero a stage and still win a club match. I never said it aloud, but I knew it to be true. I have thought about it a lot, and i have come to the following conclusion: When I feel (believe) that I am adequately trained, I am invincible. When otherwise, I have doubt. Doubt sucks, so now I must do the work. And by the way, I'm always more interested (worried) about results when I know I'm not adequately trained... SA

BORING. Bring back the gadgets. They've dumbed it down too much. Just another mediocre action flick. The baddie looks a little like Bill Seevers, however...

And they laugh at us when we chamber check more than once at LAMR...they shouldn't.

There are 3 modes of practice available to us. 1. Accuracy: Where speed is not judged 2. Speed: Where accuracy is not judged 3. Shooting: Where the subconscious mind does everything other than calling the shot. Always be in one of those modes and know which one you are in. Most importantly, do not allow yourself to fire a single shot without learning something. SA

I have this overwhelming confidence that all I have to do is shoot As and I will naturally speed up, is this a sound theory? You're partially correct. But you won't necessarily naturally speed up. You will become more efficient as things are delivered to the subconscious mind, but to get any real speed gains you must place yourself in a speed mode DURING PRACTICE so you learn what faster performance feels like. Once the feeling and subsequent speed gains are realized and internalized, then you can return to accuracy mode and retain the speed gains. Then, at the match, just shoot and call every shot. SA

If it was as simple as slowing down, you'd already be doing it wouldn't you? The simple fact is that you haven't decided that points are important, so when the timer goes off you choose speed. That's the rushed, frantic feeling you describe. And pardon me, but how many points do you get for a "hit?" See the sights before you press the trigger? All I need to see are the sights? With all due respect, (and apologies for crankiness) there' some damaging stuff going on here. 1. "get your hits" means that you are cool with anything on paper. No misses. I know what that feels like. I generally have felt like that after really burning down a stage (or so I thought) without seeing much. 2. See the sights before you press your trigger? That could be very damaging to a newbie if taken too literally. Could we please instead say, "see what you need to see?" Thanks, SA

I have gotten a lot of requests for class outlines and fee structures. Apparently, you guys aren't ready to just write me a blank check for a plane ticket without a sneak peek at the gun show. Ok, I get it. The dry fire tuneup is me walking you through the first 12 drills in R&R, fixing every single flaw. Not one person has left without a sub-second draw to an acceptable sight picture at 21 feet. Not even the 9 year old. The dojo record is .5 We also cover visualization, stage analysis and the mental game. Many have left with custom drills for their specific weaknesses. That's included if necessary, of course. It's $100 for 2 hours minimum, and they usually go longer. I could take as many as 6 at a time if we have enough space available. I have plenty of room in Columbus at our new HQ right off Cleveland and 270. There's also a new level 2 dry fire tuneup that goes through the first 12 drills while moving. It's a whole new way to practice that imparts and programs a real sense of urgency into your movement. It also features a brand new reload drill that is partcularly useful in production, but also makes you moregooderbetter in the other divisions. I found a slight flaw in the gap between the Burkett reload and the full reload, so I fixed it. This level 2 tune-up is the awesome sauce I recently shared with Micah Barcelo, where he became a national contender right before my eyes. Ask him about it. Oh, he also busted a .6 turn and draw to an acceptable sight picture at 10 yards, btw. (That's exactly how ya dooz it, bro.) That's $150 plus R&R if you don't have it. We could do both in one day for $200 per shooter: Level 1, a break, then level 2. That sounds like fun!Our new HQ dojo is PERFECT for that. There's even a conference room! Yowza! The live fire class is $250 each, plus any range fees. Minimum 5, maximum 12. Less than 8 I have to add actual travel expenses in there, and divide them out between the shooters. For 8 and up I'll cover the travel on my end. If you're willing to be a sponsor and organize a class for us, you shoot for free. I'll be happy to send a class outline to anyone who's interested.
