I wouldn't say it is well known.
I have observed a similar thing happening and during the primer shortage, you'd find a number of people who recommended small pistol magnum primers for minor 130PF 9mm loads. I even used an established load that wasn't too wimpy - 4.1 grains of Titegroup under a 124gr bullet.
DO NOT DO IT.
I changed all of my components and one slide later, all blame could be assigned to SPM primers. Even hard Wolf SP primers didn't contribute to erosion. Don't shoot SPM in minor, it isn't worth finding out whether your slide will survive it or not:

She's just screwing with you gamers trying to jump the clock.

I don't pick up brass from USPSA matches. I pick it up from newbies at my local range and when I shoot it in practice, I pick it up again. When a weekend match rolls around, I leave 150 on the ground.
You can repeat this indefinitely.

While we're all jumping to conclusions, it could be possible that some of the people on that list are volunteers...

I don't know what the BDC is designed for but I do know AR sights are a lot easier to adjust than HK sights.

Yup, only the first episode of the second season works for me. Maybe they're working on it and it'll be up soon.

I've always noticed that the shows' animators HAVE to be shooters.

While underwater:
Looks at condition 3 pistol in one hand.
Looks at bad guy.
Looks at alcohol in the other hand.
DAMMIT!
Tap, rack, bang...

You were struck by (metallic) fragments.
Shrapnel is intended to harm you and if you ever encounter it in a match, you should leave!

1. Bolt will not lock back to the rear on an empty mag. And when it does, it only locks back half way.
Assuming it is not the magazine, you're either losing gas or the carrier is meeting resistance where it shouldn't be.
2. Failing to fully feed. Periodically it will partially feed a round from the mag. The bolt closes half way and the round is kinked into the chamber.
What kind of magazine? Does your receiver extension match your receiver? (Feed ramp)

It also means 100% cash payback. Daniel and the other two top finishers get the $10,000 Stag Arms put up (I need to ask for a raise). The rest of us get to battle it out on TV for the other $16,000.
I'll be happy if I can hold up a miniature check made out to Delta airlines for the trip back home!
Let's do this!

Looks like there are some full episodes up on the website.
How do you get anything from season 2 to play?
-
I'm pretty sure the outer circle is outside the effective range of your rifle.
I use a 200 yard zero and I'm sure most use something between 200-300 with this optic.

Sent my check out last month and I hope there will be some sort of confirmation.

At every major, I carry 4 rounds of heavy shot just in case.
They're there in case I didn't choke properly for a long range target. They seldom get grabbed and if I pull them, it means I'm fixing a mistake.

I haven't caught an episode on TV and they don't post them online. They really should post the full episodes.
Yup, I'm really hoping they do soon - been waiting on seeing them since I haven't seen anything after the Iron Man show.
-
Don't do that same kind of math with a woman and your check book
Yup, it's a steep hourly rate.
Doing the same math for a cross-country major match is hilarious.
All of the time that goes into producing one round of match ammunition -
the time it takes to practice putting that one bullet in a place you want it -
the cost of delivering that bullet a few states away -
and the actual time it takes you to do it in comparison ends up being a really interesting number.

Glad the slide didn't whack you in the face.
My bet is that the metal in the slide was sub-par since the barrel isn't obviously bulged.

Cameron, will you be running the Prismatic again this season in Limited? Thanks for your reply. The video of you and your teammate at Texas in 2011 scared the crap out of me on the long rifle! I'll try not to be discouraged no matter what direction I choose.
I'll be running an Elcan 1-4x all year for the 3GN & 3-Man TO series. I briefly considered selling my Pris but it's such a great optic that I want to have the opportunity to jump back to it in 2013. If your rifle holds less than 4 MOA, all you really need to do is slap on a Pris and a free float.
Like others have said, I wouldn't spend TOO much time on long range since it's usually just one stage at a match but in Limited, the long range stage WILL decide the top finishes (along with every other stage).
If you can reload your shotgun, shoot a pistol well enough to clean a Texas star, and shoot a rifle at POA=POI elevation wise - and compensate for windage at 200-300 yards, you'll be fine for 90% of it if it was like last year's match (You'll be using those skills a lot more frequently).
The fine dust there makes a great wind indicator when you miss. If it just hovers over the target, there is no wind.
-
Like you said, get a Prismatic, 1-4x, or an extended sight radius. Get a free float - get an accurate barrel/nice trigger first. (4 MOA is what I'd call "serviceable")
Be advised, one big reason that no one shoots limited is that it's friggin' hard and on top of that, the prize table isn't usually attractive. Don't start unless you are prepared to deal with failure and not give up.
Practice calling dope for strong winds and know what they will do to your bullets. I am prepared for the wind being what it was last year. My holdoff to hit the 480 yard target was in the double digit range of feet with respect to elevation and windage.

Or is it the top 64 on the list, regardless of Division they competed in?
Thanks again.
Top 64 regardless of division with the calculation being:
Your Final Match Score/1st Place Match Score in Your Division (With a base of 100%)
(Using your best 3 match scores)

To prepare for the 3GN 2012 series:
At the range, I shoot 150 rounds of pistol, 150 rounds through a .22 caliber upper, and 60 rounds of 5.56.
I focus on long range pistol shooting with the pistol & target to target transitions at the same time (on steel).
I do the same with the .22 kit.
With the rifle, I practice 100-300 yard shooting on steel.
I don't shoot my shotgun much in practice but I spend a lot of time reloading and dry firing with it.
For PT, I do 20-40 pullups every few days and once it starts to warm up, I'll run 3-5 miles for endurance.
Being a good sprinter helps but doesn't save TOO much time (otherwise, there wouldn't be so many round shooters at the top of the rankings ).
I have found that in a 3-day match, not being fatigued on the third day will make you shoot better than everyone who doesn't at end of the match.

We know some people intentionally shot divisions with less competitors and less competition to earn more points
Which divisions would those be?
(Ones without top competitors)
Also, the number of competitors plays no part in ranking - it is the difference between 100% and the next person down.
what is a really fast split? What are the GM's capable of?

Magical split at 1:39 - accidentally on purpose I agree that transitions are the money maker, that's where I put my practice time since all the splits in the world don't do any good if you miss what you're aiming at:
