  1. Try it without spacers first. One forum member shot thousands of rounds without spacers without any malfunctions. If you do use the spacers, the metal ones like Hardy is the best. According to Mr Hardy, do not glue the spacers in place. The Dawson and Grams basepad works the best with spacers.

  2. I love N320 so when it was time for me to shoot some REV division, I tested/loaded up lots of rounds with N320. I was surprised that the cleanest powder I had ever shot in semi-autos was really dirty in my revolver. One person stated it had something to do with the capacity of the case and the small amount of powder in the case. I know a lot of revolver shooters like the fluffy powders like Trail Boss and others due to this.

I will look up the loads I had and post them later.

  3. You really should pull him to the side and talk with him. Don't let it get that far that a DQ is in order.

Just curious, when you say gun up, do mean his pistol is in the holster and he just wraps his belt back on? Doesn't make a difference in the call but I know there are many who still think that is okay.

  4. Hello all,

Ran across this site when doing research on the Mossberg JM Pro. After reading here, I think I'll go for it. This site seems like a gold mine.

Where are you located? We have three great clubs that have regular matches here and a few close in adjoining states. Let us know...

  5. I just removed to the Admin forum some posts that ventured into allusions of slander.

Repeat instances will be awarded a 30 day time-out.

Pretty creative interpretation of slander, but whatever.

    Back on topic

Well, technically it is libel if written. Back on topic...

  6. When I first started shooting USPSA in the early 90's, we formed a club without affiliation. It was fun but we were missing a lot. For instance, when different people would run the match, all of a sudden, some rules would change. Later, we decided to use the USPSA rule book and still weren't affiliated. While the rules got better, we didn't have certified ROs to enforce or interrupt them. And we did not get the benefit of keeping classifiers and classifications. It was a little while after this I finally joined USPSA and then we got our club affiliated. Due to my experiences, I probably would not enter a "USPSA-type" match at all.

So what does a club get mostly? Shooters like me with similar experience and wanting consistency in rules with classifier tracking.

  7. In previous threads, I was for the 15 limit in Production. After shooting Production exclusively for the last four months, 10 rounds is challenging. It's not just about fast mag changes, it's also stage break down.

I do agree to an extent but with 10 rounds, the strategy is to do mag changes often or during every movement. I don't believe that is all that complicated. I've only been shooting Production for 3-4 months also but that's what I've seen so far. I'm still all in for the 10 round limit in CO. I probably won't shoot it but if I did, I would hope it would be that way. I really don't want an Open lite so I hope all the Production type stuff stays in there also.

  8. Usually the MD will set something up at big matches so you can ship to them. If not, you could find a LGS in the area that might be willing to accept it for you. I've shipped to my hotel before and that worked out okay. Make sure you read up on the shipping restrictions. You must get the ORM-D or alternate sticker for the sides, it must be shipped ground, etc. I stuck at the last minute one time and didn't know these things. Should be shipped by USPS but I've heard a few say they have, most will ask and will not ship it. UPS has been my choice every time I shipped since I'm close to a service center and the lady there is very knowledgeable with shipping firearms and ammo.

  9. Would you look at the factory spec pics or take a pic and post it here? The factory doesn't sell the the Trojan with tri-top, it's flat top. Mine is a flat top also. I don't think you can put a special order in for that either.

I doubt that little bit of weight savings did all that for you. It may be the way it handles, feels, weight, how it is sprung, etc., all go together to bring a different experience to the shooter. I have several 1911/2011s and all feel and shoot a little different. The slide might be moving faster and that can make it handle different but again, that's due to a few different factors.

Just curious, have you weighed your old and new slides and know the exact difference? That would be good to know.

  10. Blue bullets 125, 6.8 auto comp (9mm) 168 PF

about 2000 thru gun no problems but there is stuff in comp.

2 matches this weekend,a bout 325 rounds fired without cleaning (which I rarely do)

Last stage 8 yds speed stage on Sunday, blue melted coating spattered on targets!!!!

    First time I've noticed that

Some smoke in the video's but not noticed while shooting

Was it in your comp or just on the targets?

  11. I did the upgrade on a few of my PCs and had an issue. Found out it was the reserved boot space filled up. Once I corrected that, the upgrades went fine. Only found one issue on one of my PCs related to a port multiplier card. They give you 30 days to roll back and it went seamlessly. All my settings preserved and all intact. Will wait on my other PCs and laptop until there is some more debugging time but so far, so good on 1 PC. And yes, they are giving it away free for 1 year for certain distros.
