  1. i would like to see some chargers for the 43 as well.
  2. I never installed tritium sights and i dont have a pusher. I have a plastic punch i got from brownells a few years back that i use for drifting most of my iron sights but i have never had to adjust tritium sights yet. I dont want to do something to mess up the lamps when tapping it in. If i was going the Dawson route, should i send my gun in to them or should i do it myself? I watched one of their videos and i am confident i could do it myself but at the same time they look like they do top notch work. My local gun shop instals sights but i am not sure they will fit the sight to the slide and may just push/force it in. I like things done the right way. what do you think?
  3. you had zero problems with the Dawson sights? Or the Dawson sights solved your zero problems? Or, you had no issues at all with the Dawson sights? HAHAHA! i hope you meant the last one. I have been eyeballing the dawson sights, tritium, and they look to have clean and crisp edges. The reason i am looking at the Dawson sights is because i was conserned about poa/poi with the Trijicon HD because i heard a few rumors about them printing extremely high. Another feller on another forum said that he has to shoot them with that silly six-o-clock hold. I also really dont like covering up the target with the front sight post. I like a traditioanl sight picture.
  4. I have been going back and forth on sights for this G43 that I have. I don’t really have the money to try various sights and have been reading up on a few different models/brands for a while. I have been reading up on Trijicon HD, Ameriglo (various models), Dawson Precision, Warren Tactical/Sevigny, Heinie, Glock brand tritium sights, and so forth. Ameriglo seems to have fit and finish issues, at least with current models that i have seen; they dont look to be machined very cleanly as well as their finish seems subpar. I have seen good sets of Ameriglo as well though. Something about Truglo puts me off, not the sights but the company. The TFO/TFX sights are also too busy for me, I wish they didn’t have fiber optic pipes on the rear and just had tritium back there. I keep going back to looking at the HD set but i am nervous about POA/POI issues as well as a lack of general accuracy regarding sight design. So, G43 owners, what aftermarket sights do you have and what do you have to say about them?
  5. I got the mini-tuck from crossbreed as well. It is a great holster for the gun. I am going to wait and see when Taran releases their connector to order the base pads.. Currently, i am wanting to change the sights out to either Ameriglo or Trijicon HD. I heard the Trijicon HD sights shot high by a few inches but havent confirmed it. I have been asking around but folks havent gotten back to me yet. The Ameriglo sights are stock height so i dont see how they chould shoot high like the Trijicon HD may be shooting. I like th way the Trijicon set is better than the Ameriglo conserning the rear sight serrations combined with blacked out tritium. The Ameriglo rears do not have the serations. I reckon i will just practice more until more reviews of these sights come out. The only thing that i am 100% on right now is that i will be eventually ording those base pads. Going between flat black and the grey ones.
  6. Yeah, but due to our ecommerce software, it won't allow cross-sku discount. Give us a call and we'll get it done manually. ( 805-522-1911 ) you guys are awesome! thanks
  7. Taran Tactical, any chance you guys will be doing a package deal later on with a short and a longer basepad for a discounted price? i noticed that if you buy two of the same kind that there is a discount on the second one that is bought. just wondering... (happy face)
  8. fascinating, I heard ZEV made really good stuff. I have only dry fired one and was impressed with that. I was thinking about getting a Zev kit for my mother for her birthday. GlockTriggers is making a carry trigger for the 43. They said it will be out in a few months. Their stuff is factory connectors that are polished and reshaped a bit. My 43 trigger is crisp (for a glock) but heavy. It is actually heavier than my Ruger LCP (new model). Although there is no wall to break with the Ruger. I like my 43 so far but i am not crazy about it like some people seem to be. It is just like a normal gun. I enjoy how thin it is. An order to Crossbreed holster is going to be made next week. Right now i am just using a Remora (similar to a desantis tuck-deal). I plan on keeping the trigger stock and just swapping out the sights. I am not sure that i am going to put in a Vickers slide release beucase i had a few failure to lock backs due to my thumb hitting the slide stop and this was with a factory gun.
  9. how is the Vickers slide stop/release working for you? I was wondering if it is easy to accidently push and thus stop the slide from locking back after the last round. I love it on the G19. Do you give it a thumbs up for the G43? also, is the connector a Ghost? I had the top of the line model for my Ruger and it was unimpressive. It lightend the trigger pull but also made it mushy. I had another problem with it where it felt like the trigger was catching on something as well so i put the factory connector back in it after i polisehd it up. I heard Glock folks have better luck with the connectors. I havent tried one on a Glock since i was let down with the Ruger experiance so i cant tell you anything about their effectiveness in other guns. Thanks, -G_B
  10. i didnt come here to argue rules/law/regulations or anything. I just wanted to know if anyone tried it and if it would fit/work. i will try it out and report back after i give it a shot for future reference in case anyone else is wondering about this.
  11. From what i heard, it is. i figured i would better be safe than sorry. The wording seems to be a mistake and could be interpreted to apply to all shotguns rather than just semi auto.
  12. Does anyone know if Benelli M4 hammers are interchangeable with the Nova/Supernova? Geissele makes a 922r replacement hammer and I am wondering if it works in the Benelli pump action shotguns. They look extremely similar except the M4 has an extra catch that it needs being a semi-auto. I plan on putting a shotgun together and new mag tube, follower, and a hammer would bring it into compliance from what I have checked. Yeah, i am by the book... Thanks, -G_B

    SR-22

i dont know, but i reckon you can call them up and they could tell ya. i doubt they would send you rails without mounting hardware. but, call em up and make sure. i have ordered rails before and some come with screws like the JP/Vtac rails, and others have not like the rail/scope mount i got for my Krag (i got it sportered/abused so i am justified doing so). anyway, call them up to make sure. that is my best advice because you cant be 100% on it unless you ask. -take care by the way, that is a rifle and you might have better luck posting in a different section of the forum... (not to be a forum snob)
  14. i have not tried out the compact model yet but have heard the same thing that they are night and day. and by the way, i am glad i stumbled onto this thread... fantastic info here. i told myself that i was not going to get another SR9 but if that C model is any good i may be too tempted. the prices on these things are too good to pass up..... although I do hate that atrocious trigger! It reminds me of El Guapo's revolver in The Three Amigos i would also really like to hear some tips on improving that trigger. i am not as accurate as i would like to be with mine and i know its that trigger. anyone hear from Ghost if and when those blasted bars are coming out? and... was adapting that Glock bar difficult, what all did you do? thanks again...
  15. I know this topic has been done before but can anyone recommend a good same plane rear aperture for the AR? All I can find are “tactical” style large hole apertures. I know XS sights makes a ghost ring aperture but it is a little big. I am looking for something smaller than a .100 for the smaller of the two apertures. The big aperture, I would prefer standard big at .200 but is not necessary. Does anyone make a precision same plane peeper? I have been looking around and cannot find anything or the product description is too vague for me to be conclusive on it. Just a non-hooded, a regular flip type rear sight aperture Of course these are just ballpark numbers for the aperture sizes but I am looking for something similar to that. perhaps something like a to NM in terms of aperture sizes.... Any suggestions? Thanks -GB
  16. Alright I have been looking at some flip up backup sights for my ar15. I am not here to ask opinions over which the best are because that could go on and on and whatnot. But I did come across these odd looking Troy sights and am wondering what others are thinking. I think the large aperture would be fast but the smaller one, I don’t know how accurate that would be. It appears it would be like looking through notch sight and I would hardly call that the most accurate option. By the way I am thinking about trying this out just because its weird….. it really looks way to sloppy for anything, even just playing around at the range... A side question, what is up with those same plane sights? Are there any real merits for going with them? I see this trying to be both.... Back to my original question, here is that Troy Di-Optic Aperture sight (DOA as they call it) Troy Di-Optic Aperture sight (troy home)
  17. YES LubriPLATE and not LubriCOAT.. my mistake... sorry about that. thanks for correcting me... and thanks Rolex, i came across someone on another thread that said that he uses it as well... i just wanted to make sure it was safe. i was thinking about trying out some of that slide glide stuff, seems to be all the rage around here... Thanks again!
  18. well i was going to get some slide glide... but i have a great big can, i mean big!, of this stuff here... and it apperas to be kissing cousins to the stuff made for the Garand requested by the US army... the Lubriplate 130-A... now it appears to be a close substance... i am not sure... thats why i am asking thanks for your advice though... both of the lubriplate greases are calcium base...
  19. LubriPLATE No. 105 I recently got a big ole can of LubriPLATE No.105 engine assembly lubricant. i was going to get myself a can of 130-a for use on my rifle but I got this here can for free and was wondering if it would work. I know there are certain types of grease to avoid that will cause stress cracks to from. Has anyone used 105? What’s your opinion of this stuff? And, do you think it would be good to use? On a non tuned 1911… about 80 years old… On a tuned up mini-14…. Yes yes yes… a mini…. On a JP v-tac rifle that I am building… … Kalashnikov … various .22s …revolvers and other automatic handguns…. Sorry if this question has been asked before, I did some searches but didn’t find much on it. I am still kind of wet behind the ears. Thanks for your input… I just want to know if this stuff is suitable as a gun grease… I dont want to use anything that will cause damage to them edited to fix product name from the erroneous "Lubricoat" to the correct "Lubriplate"
  20. that sr-556 is listed at my local gun shop (they have none in stock but the price is listed) at 1,560.... i went there to look at one of those sr9 handguns that they had listed for about 400.... the handgun was alright, not overly impressive but still good for the price its at. i am still debating buying it... its kind of hard not to at 400 i am thinking.... as for the rifle, i have no idea when they will be getting in, i would like to look one over
  21. i am sorta building one right now, went out and got a Smith lower, wanted to have one and it was sort of an impulse thing... i was going to build it up getting all the components and doing it myself but just decided to buy a JP upper, well i advent done that yet but i plan on it very shortly. i figured they would probably put the upper together better than i could... anyway, thats the route i took .. er.. am taking
  22. they will be in at Midway by the 31st i think it says, not sure right now the price looks on par with similar sights they have lit listed for $765 which means it will probably be found for cheaper somewhere else... http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=375725 my question is, can you use these in the role of a 1X red dot type optic as well as Magnified? dual role?? isn't that the point of it?
  23. what is the practical range in using the Fastfire? i have had mine on a few guns and it seems to be very inaccurate out past 50 or so yards. is this typical or is this user error? i mean, the point of impact is no where near where it is supposed to be... within what distances do you recommend using it? sorry if my question is ignorant, but i am new to the electronic sight scene...
