I don't know if it's any good but AGI has this: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/418945/american-gunsmithing-institute-agi-technical-manual-and-armorers-course-video-cz-75-and-eaa-witness-pistols-dvd

this Mobil 1 synthetic grease: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/mobilGrease28.php
  3. Motosapiens: "I know all of us that took a local class from ben stoeger last year were pretty amazed at how ordinary the trigger on his beretta was" Having shot Ben's Tanfoglio I can tell you it's not very ordinary.
  4. Just in time for the shipping notice I just got on my AccuShadow
  5. If you go with a Dawson front sight they can probably sort you out via email or the phone.
  6. Some of the plastic base pads are breakage prone if dropped on gravel or something like that. On the downside you have to make sure they don't put the gun over weight limit.
  7. Less have them contact Mark at Automatic Accuracy - he's wonderful to work with!
  8. USPSA legal but you won't see any of the better shooters do it. Take a clue from the revolver shooters - many of them bob their hammers to improve trigger pull, which in turn prevents them from thumb cocking the gun. They'd rather (slightly) improve the trigger than to ever make a single action shot.
  9. If you have a 1911 and shoot it a lot (like many serious USPSA competitors) you're going to have to learn to do minor maintenance and repair yourself. 1911s need the occasional TLC.
  10. Going to be hard to beat a GA Precision GAP10. I have one in 308 with an 18.5" barrel and it's a hammer. On a tangent, an earlier poster called them Georgia Precision. GA stands for Gnat's Ass, not Georgia.
  11. Ben's new live fire book is the best there is, in my opinion. It won't give you a plan (he even says so in the book), but it gives you every drill you could ever need. Identify your weaknesses, go to the appropriate section of Ben's book, and practice away. You'll need a timer, three target stands (for most of the drills in the book), and targets.

    SP01 mags

As the other two have said, get the 17 rd Mecgars with the blue follower and anti-friction coating
  13. I have one on order, and I think it's going to be an awesome gun. That said, I'm thinking I won't see a benefit except on targets past maybe 25 yards?
  14. I wouldn't spend too much time on the extraction. If a little trial and error tuning doesn't fix it I'd try an Aftec.
  15. Bruce are you sure that's lead and not the moly coating you are seeing on the patch? I ask since you said it was hard to clean. BBI recommends using Methyl Ethyl Ketone to get moly out of the barrel.
  16. For a given load it will definitely cycle faster - Force = Mass x Acceleration, so as mass goes down acceleration goes up. As far as cracks, that's a lot harder to assess. If the lightening is done with holes and the holes are put in low stress regions of the slide, then fatigue shouldn't be an issue.
  17. If you truly want the best it's probably a custom from the likes of Akai, Cameron's, Freedom, etc.
  18. If you want to be competitive and don't want a 2011 as mentioned above I'd look strongly at a Glock 35 (40 S&W).
  19. 17 rd Mecgar AFC with the same base pads that came with them. Only reason I could thnk of wanting anything different would be if the plastic Mecgar base pads cracked. They haven't yet for me. A little birdie told me there may be some nice aluminum ones available soon. I run three of the Comp Tac double mag holders.
  20. I'd sell or just hold on to the mags that come with it and buy some Mecgar 17rd AFC mags. Those are by far my favorite CZ75 mags.
  21. I think you nailed it in your second paragraph - dry fire until it stops.
