  1. No slugs this time, no need for those big fat expensive rifle type rounds this weekend, maybe a few next year! Next year, hahahahahahhahahahh jc
  2. fueddy, you read right, none of the stages require AM's to have a slung weapon, and only one Pro stage has it and they can carry it and shoot one handed with the pistol if they choose. Yes I am excited to its a blend of some close speed, shooting on the move, technical shooting positions, physical movement and longer range targets. Shotgun isn't quite as heavy as pistol or rifle and there is room in most cases to be loading on the move, vice flat foot, so it should be a BLAST jc

  4. Yes you will and I know that will make for two very happy competitors, and captured your banner in the AM stage 3 posted online as well Thanks for being a sponsor and welcome to the fun jc
  5. Stages are posted on the match website http://rockcastle3-gunproam.com/Stages.html Target count is AM Pistol 49, Rifle 49, Shotgun 48 PRO Pistol 56, Rifle 60, Shotgun 65, that is targets not rounds unless you choose to shoot one A and hit every piece of steel on the first shot, I think someone should take that challange, Kelly N I think you should try that! I would say round count at 2 hits on each paper and a few extra shots at steel targets puts this at about 300-350 rounds total for the match. So average 325 shots, with 500 shooters that comes out to 162,500 rounds in two and a half days and then the side matches and such, that's a lot of fun in one weekend Now I'm down to "build it and they will come", I gotta get some of the props out of my garage and up to Rockcastle, then I can make more Later Jeff
  6. Prizes will be distributed between Pro and Am tables as equitably as I possibly can based on participation/ percentages, so yes guns on all tables, as there are more Pro's expect to see more there but I do not expect anyone on the AM side to walk away disappointed at this match, my/ our goal is to provide great "shooter value", great opportunity for sponsors and a weekend unlike any other!! jc
  7. Match and prize table coninue to build momentum, Alexander Arms and Colt are now GOLD sponsors. Winners are going to have a hard time deciding what pick up off the prize tables; ACR, LOKI 223, Alexander Arms Grendel or 50 Beowulf, Neil Wiggans or Freedom Gun Works custom STI 9mm, Seekings Precision Custom AR, CMMG, Bushmaster, Remington or DPMS rifles or tons of stuff from AR15.com, Brownells or Hornady and all the other great sponsors, I may try to publish a list before the match so everyone can get an idea of what to be looking for. Thanks to all the sponsors and shooters for turning out to help make this come together JC
  8. Are results posted online anywhere yet, i know its still early, just asking
  9. Ken, Larry, RM, Overstreets, RO's what a great match, THANK YOU, Yes, the steel did prove extremely difficult to see in the afternoon after the rain on stage 7, I shot it then too, I'm sure they have the idea of how to make that better but what a great match. Great challanges, technical positions, but most amazing was the preperation and fore thought to allow the match to run smoothly even when it rained for over half a day, We encountered no major backups, no problems running on the stages, and only a bit messy in the reset department! Well done, they had seen it coming and put down the mulch, desinged the stages, movements and targets to support, (lessons learned from years past?) Great planning and execution in far less than ideal conditions, hats off to you all for making it happen and standing in the rain to see us through all the stages. Great job, smooth running, lots of fun and what a great bunch of RO's and those NROTC folks helping out thanks again Jeff
  10. More match sponsors still coming in; EGW and Otis confirmed today, be sure and support those supporting your sport and events Thanks Jeff
  11. :cheers:Sounds like we can add in a Tough Mudder competition along with the shooting match, roll in the MMA fight and we can come up with a TRUE WARRIOR I think I will watch as the young bulls battle it out
  12. Parts are in for the custom pistols, here is a taste of the custom gun that Freedom Gunworks will be putting together for the AM table, remember random draw prize, on of those lucky AM guys will take this home once assembled
  13. Just a quick flash, still getting in sponsors and shooters, lots of enthusiasm from all while up at Rockcastle for Bluwridge, most of us in Alabama are working to get life back to normal but I got power back and can get back to work on the match. Look forward to seeing you all and everyone that talked to me last weekend get busy and get in on the match either as a sponsor or shooter, with life's issues we are having a bit of turnover so will be working down the waiting list some Also thanks to Troy for coming in as a Gold sponsor and looks like STI and Brownells are both shipping parts for the customs pistols that will be at the match, the snowball continuew to roll. later, I got work to do jeff
  14. U guys are killing me, let me wake up this week before we sign me up for anything new
  15. Let me just add my 2 cents to the deafening roar of approval for the match, it was great, ran smoothly with a huge turn out, staff and sponsors out did themselves, the prize table was awesome. Sheldon, Marcy and all the match officials and RO's and staff were all about making sure everyone has having a great time and it showed at every turn. I cannot say enough about the staff and what a good time it was. Thanks for all your efforts, well worth the sandblasting we all took and you as well. Jeff
  16. Spent a couple days at Rockcastle finding new places to run stages and figuring out how to have parking close to stage for the masses. The plan is coming together and prop construction is underway.
  17. Well, won't be quite that much in the main courses of fire, BUT, I have been considering having an old fashioned team post shoot at the end of the match. 3 person teams, one with each gun, 6 teams on the line at the same time, first team to cut off (clean not attached any more) their 4x4 post wins the heat, and ladder up to a final shoot off, so with 18 people on the line at the same time feverishly blasting at their targets how many rounds do get shot in the first 5 seconds? Hmmmmmmmmm that could take a bunch of rounds Thoughts ? A shoot off event everyone can enter
  18. Nope, still working out stages so no final numbers yet, will let you know as soon as possible, ok maybe I can have rough numbers by next week but they would be subject to tweaking
  19. Going to be there and can't wait, I think the last match I shot in PA was the NTI many, many years ago yipppeeee
  20. So where are the rules for this match listed at? sounds like fun
  21. Well I know you will make someone very happy to get in, it's always tough but you are backing out of the biggest 3 gun ever, "measure twice, cut once"
  22. Lucky shooters, just a quick heads up we have added Daniel Defense, Troy Indutries and RCI makers of the XRAIL to our list of sponsors, I think we are all winners with this kind of industry support jeff
  23. How do we find that??? NOt exactly sure but know it should roll through http://radiofreearfcom.wordpress.com/ , not sure when it goes live, sometime tonight I think around 6 or 7, I'm trying to find out
  24. We are not shutting down the god course for this match so we will not be driving on the course, we are exploring having some carts available, as that may ease parking at some stages, 500 folks means a lot of cars and trucks, working some parking logistics as we speak Spent the weekend up there checking some stuff out Hey everyone checkout the AR15.com podcast tonight Kurt Miller and Linda Chico will be on it talking about the match just a little jeff
  25. target definition will be good for both divisions, disiances not planned over 300 jc
