Looks like some serrations, and a stainless barrel which wouldn't come close to the insane price tag on it.

Fondled the first one when ATEi brought it down to Costa during a Costa Ludus class I was taking. I didn't get to shoot it, but I did take some photos of Costa shooting it. Seemed to cycle quickly, and dry firing it showed it had a nice trigger, but for $1500 I would pass.

U notch vs. square notch and what width front and rear?
.140" u-notch 10-8 rear and .100 Dawson front. That's what I use on all my guns.

Ouch--I definitely wouldn't want to hurt the reliability of my pistol. I'm not for sure if it's the pistol or me--I shoot great with a beretta 92fs, but awful with the XDM9. I've let a couple other people use my XDM9 and they also shot horrible with it when they shot fine before with other guns.
Is it possible for the sights to be off from the factory?
Were the shots grouping well, just off from the POA? Have you shot it from a rest? Could be the sights,

Yes you need to mill the slide for it.
Hilton Yam (10-8 performance) has been testing out RMR's on one of his M&P's and it doesn't look good. He's had 3 fail in under 3000rds. There are other trainers that use/try them and have also had issues at lower round counts.
Rather fixing the hardware, fix the software (shooter) first.

if you want to lighten up the DCAEK, just keep the stock trigger return spring instead of installing the DCAEK.

I have 3 different Dawson Posi-Lock mag releases in my 2011's.
No issue with over-insertion with 140mm mags.
I got them after a friend broke my ejector on my Edge.
The previous owner of my Tactical broke the ejector on that gun before I got it.
Installation is easy, and Dawson includes a screwdriver with the mag release.

The P16 I have won't drop STI mags it's like they get stuck at the top
Are your mags tuned? If not, the mags might be a little large/out of shape

Does the heavier striker spring make a difference pull weight that can be measured?
Not as much as it would in a Glock.
It would also have less of a difference if you are using an Apex sear.
