  1. I keep having trouble with the last round not ejecting I am using tripp and wilson mags. It does not do it all the times ,just when you are at a match.

Do the 10-8 Performance extractor test.

Like the others said, its most likely your extractor.

I have thousands of rounds through my SA Loaded without issue.

If you are getting work done, I would also have the ejector pinned. I've seen a quite a few come loose and cause issues.

  2. He's a little fun saga.

A friend ordered a Legion Firearms 2011 last year. Legion uses frames/slides that STI makes for them and are pre-fit (built to Legions spec) before arriving at Legion. Well after Legion had the frame/slide finished in nickel boron and some had Cerakote on top of the NiBx, they would not go back together as the finish changed the dimensions. They had to machine and refinish to get them back together.

On the flip side, a friend had a tightly fit 2011 finished in Cerakote by Chuck Rogers, and there was no issues with the parts going back together.

Moral of the story is to find someone knowledgeable to apply it and you shouldn't have any issues.

  3. These are supposed to prevent over insertion of mags.

    Thanks,

These are currently out of stock. I ordered one anyhow. Dawson is good about returns if the item doesn't work as advertised. Anyone ever try one of these btw?

I have 3 of them and they work fine. A friend was using my Edge, and broke the ejector, which is why I installed the Posi-Lock. No issues since I made the change. I also have a Tactical 4.15 that I traded for, and it had a broken ejector and I swapped that out as well and haven't had any issues. The 3rd 2011, I installed it from the get go, and haven't had any issues.

  4. watched the video on the prototype on youtube. Looks like it is a much lighter trigger pull than the apex fss.

In that video he wasn't pulling straight back with the trigger gauge, but at an upward angle. This would affect the reading.

  5. Align sights. Squeeze Trigger. Am I missing something?

    You forgot grip. ;)

I did a 2 day class this weekend, used a 2011, M&P-9 and G17. No issues with being accurate/precise with any of them.

  6. Technically, the trigger spring pulls the trigger up and to the rear (to catch the striker), not forward for reset.

It may be broke or disconnected.

With the slide removed and the trigger in the rearward position, press inward on the connector. It should cause the trigger bar to pop up.

  7. Not sure if Bobby has shot it yet, but I replaced the GS with an Ed Brown GS, changed the trigger out to a short/flat Infinity and gave it a trigger job (2.5#). I have it so the GS clears the trigger bow sooner, so that should take care of his grip issue. I'm not sure if he's gotten to the range with it, but he might have me blend the thumb safety down. Also didn't blend the contour of the GS yet because it would need to get refinished and he's going to shoot this in a state match in July. yes he knows the mag release button needs to go for ESP.

  8. Where do you get spacers for STI mags, other than STI perhaps.

You can get metal ones from Shooters Connection and Dawson. You can get STI 9mm follower & spacer (plastic) from the 2 mentioned and also Brownells.

  9. They are tight and usually have loctite on the dovetail. I use a sight pusher, so its never been an issue. Another note is that the dovetail cut is smaller than the sight base, so you'll most likely need to file some of the sight base to get the sight to fit. I fit mine probably tighter than the factory.

  10. I'm just waiting on my frame to start my build. The AGI videos are probably the best for watching someone doing a build. There is also the Wilson Combat video and the Gunsmithing the 1911 with Paul Liebenberg DVD. All have useful info.

I think Shooters Connection has slide/frame kits.

    Brownells has frames in stock
