  1. Its loud and clear now. Thanks to everyone............its appreciated !
  2. Now I am confused for I have gotten different responses.....one person says the close end with the coils closer goes closest to the grip while the second says the opposite. Can somebody please explain....: )
  3. Thanks for the information. Experimenting with a 6", factory 180 gr in USPSA Limited.
  4. Please X-plain.....LOL . Is this the end where you have the coils spaced closer together?
  5. Yes they do. Must be a STI frame. Consider the STI Eagle in 6 inch and have your gunsmith put the bells and whistles that you feel that you need later. A 6' is the way to go..................short dustcover with a bull barrell.
  6. I would like to know how to determine which end of a variable power recoil spring goes towards the front of the gun and which goes towards the back. Of course the end having the most resistance goes towards the back but at times it is difficult to feel this. Am I wrong to assume that the end of the spring with the coils closer together goes towards the back of the gun ?
  7. OK I am a newbie to reloading. As a matter of fact my 650 has not arrived. However I would like to know which are the better companies to purchase reloading supplies from. After I shot some 220 gr 40 cal in my STI Eagle 6 inch in a USPSA match I just have to have it. The shooter will not tell me the load but I will have to figure that one out through experimentation.I understand that many top shooters will not tell anyone their 'REAL' loads.....LOL. #1,Which are the better companies ( reloading supplies ) to deal with considering price, quality and availability of products? #2, Anyone knows who carries 220 grain 40 caliber bullets ? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
  8. Dan Burwell................you can't go wrong. He is unquestionably the best gunsmith to work on your MP. However it is likely that he does not want to touch a gun that has been altered. And yes,it is very difficult to contact him. Puma Pumagsd@yahoo.com Miami, FL.
  9. Yes, bull barrel/reverse plug.
  10. Thanks for all the help. I do not know if I will want a tungsten rod I just wanted the option. I am just getting into reloading so I will start out with factory 180 gr ammo and of course you know the pressure that factory loads produce.
  11. I am waiting on the arrival of my new 6" STI Eagle in 40 caliber. I would like to know since STI 6" Eagles have a reverse plug so that recoil springs from Government 1911's can be utilized if the same lenghth recoil rods can be interchanged. I cannot find any 6" tungsten guide rod on the market but they are available for Government length 1911's. As always any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
  12. I need recommendations as to what, where and who when it comes to lightening the slide of my new competition STI Eagle 6' 40 caliber. Pictures would be awsome. I want to be cautious as to not have cracks develop etc. Basic instructions for dummies #101 will not insult me rather all information will be greatly appreciated.Look forward to reading all responses............
  13. I just purchased my STI Eagle in 40 caliber and would like to purchase SV magazines. I hear that SV magazines are the better by far. My problem is that I want to use DP base pads. What DP pads can I add to the 140MM SV tube and still be legal ? Or should I get the 123 MM tube instead? Of course I want to maximize the number of rounds. I hear that 20 rounds is average capacity. Any and all suggestions and recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Puma Pumagsd@yahoo.com
  14. Would like to purchase a Stainless steel Swenson thumb shield safety to put on my new STI Eagle. I would like to know where I can find someone with one presently in stock READY TO SELL..... Pumagsd@yahoo.coma
  15. I am looking to purchase a shooter's toolbox that is versatile as well as practical. Can you please tell me where I can purchase such a tool box......I want it not to be very large yet have the space for all my tools, spare parts, springs etc. Suggestions are very much appreciated also. Puma

  17. Would like to know where I can purchase the SSS Magwell in brass or hard chromed for my MP-9L and for the MP-Pro 40. The aluminum magwell chips and/or scratches too much lol ! Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Pumagsd@yahoo.com
  18. I currently compete in the production class and would like to purchase base pads to add to the number of rounds and compete in limmited/minor. Which are the best 140mm pads being made for the MP9-L ?
  19. Will be purchasing an STI for limited class. If I purchase a 5 inch the Edge will have a bull barrel. But I am also considering a 6 inch Eagle. I would like to know the pros and/or cons of 5" versus 6" guns and regular barrels versus bull barrels in a 6 inch guns. I would like to cover as much information as possible to make sure that I make the right choice. Any and all information that you provide to help me will be greatly appreciated. Pumagsd@yahoo.com

    shock buffer

I use a buffer on my 35 together with a non captured tungsten guide rod and 15 pound spring and I think that it reduces recoil. At the very least this combination of buffer/heavy guide rod and lighter spring definitely leads to a quicker and smoother cycle........but then again this just might be psychological. You are just going to have try it for yourself. Puma Pumagsd@yahoo.com Miami, FL.
  21. The only way that I have been able to hurt a Glock is when I placed my model 22 service weapon in the trunk of the police car together with a car battery. Consequently the car battery tipped over and its accid spilled on to the weapon. The slide suffered some damage however the potential problem was that the gun was for lack of a better word glued to the holster........need I say what could have taken place? Luckily I noticed the problem before the next tour of duty. But a Glock pistol is by far the most dependable and undestructable gun on the planet. Do not baby it !
  22. I think that it is a superb addition to a glock. It uses top quality materials and is is well made. It gives you a very quick and crisp pull. I did not even adjust it. I simply dropped it in my 35 and could not be any happier after having fired approximately 2,000 rounds.
  23. I would like to know the pros and cons of the Glockworx Fulcrum drop in trigger kit compared to the Vanek Custom trigger kits. I currently have the Glockworx on my 35 and could not be any happier however I am purchasing a 34 and would like to know if there is anything better! Additionally I would like to know if they are legal for the limited class. All your opinions and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated ! Puma Miami, FL. Pumagsd@yahoo.com

    Accuracy Glock 34

Before you get rid of the gun have a gun smith check it. Some glocks have more play than others in the way the barrel fits and this affects accuracy. Maybe you got a lemon. But there are always solutions. An after market barrel will certainly help with Bar-Sto being the best choice. Tuning the gun with a trigger job, inserting an after market S/S or tungsten recoil rod with a 13 lb recoil spring will also help significantly. Al Pumariega Miami, FL.
