  1. I want to thank everyone that responded with the genuine interest of helping out and the others that responded with sarcasm-maybe a bad sense of humor ? Anyways the spring does make a difference! And after receiving so many good responses and trying different springs a came to the conclusion that less than factory supplied strength is better recoil wise, realiability wise and precision wise. Again, as a new member to the forum I want to thank those that contributed to my decision by sharing their experiences and knowledge. Al Miami, FL.
  2. I just returned from the range after changing the recoil spring from a factory 17 to a 15 and putting 200 rounds through my Glock 35. I used both major and minor loads. The gun definitely feels softer with less recoil. I had no misfire or problem of any kind.I love the new set up ! This is the way. Al Pumariega Miami, FL.
  3. I just returned from the range and shot Remington 165 gr and some Atlanta Ammo minor 40 with my Glock 35 using a 15 lb recoil spring and had no misfire or any other problem. I think that this spring in combination with a buffer is the way to go. Al, Miami, FL.
  4. Check out the GlockStore.com. The extendedguide rod is actually on page 12 of their current catalog. (Phone # 1-800-601-8273) I personnally prefer the normal tungsten captured recoil rod with the spring of your choice in combination with a recoil buffer. It is on page 59 of the same catalog. I have them both and notice a difference. The spring will also make a BIG difference! I am presently using a 15 lb spring on my 35. Good luck ! Al Miami, FL.
  5. What can be done to a limited gun that will not be allowed to be done to a production gun (Sights, barrels, trigger jobs, recoil rods, mag wells etc., etc., etc.
  6. I am sorry but I remain confused. And I guess that it was a stupid question. But being new to the sport I needed direction. I understand that if you lighten the spring the result will be lighter strikes. But what I meant to ask is # 1 If a titanium striker with a lighter spring OK only with factory loads?
  7. I have heard that titanium firing pins (striker) tend to break. And I have heard that stainless steel firing pins (glockworx) are just as light but more durable. Please share your opinions on above matter. My goal is to enhance trigger pull and not sacrifice durability too much.
  8. I am presently using a stock striker spring on a titanium striker and have not experienced a single misfire. However I have been told that I can reduce trigger pull approximately 1/2 pound by using a reduced power spring. I was just wondering if a reduced power spring will have much affect on 1st, reliability when using factory ammo, and 2nd, reliability when using ammo purchased from Atlanta Arms & Ammo. I would appreciate very much your opinion on above matter.
  9. Thanks for the quick replies. I am looking forward to many more. However I just do not have the desire nor time to reload. And this is why I am looking for the best alternative. How about the components that I mentioned? Specificly the 15 LB. recoil spring for factory loads?
  10. I would like to know which sights are used by the best best competion shooters. And I would also like to know which sights are used by most weekend warrior shooter. I would also like to know if anyone out there has used the Big Dot XS Sight System. Its design appears interesting but I have never seen a set in person much less tried one. I now have a Dawson Adjustable F. O. Rear and a Dawson F. O. front on my 35 and am very happy. However I think that I would benefit from a set that allows quicker target acquisition in the model 34 that I am planning on buying. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.
  11. I am a retired police officer relatively new to pistol competition and to this forum. However I am a quick lerner and like everyone else would like to fine tune my gune to its full potential. I would like to know what factory load in 40 caliber would be best for competition to be used in a model 35 Glock. I find that the heavier loads add unnecessary recoil. I have been using the Remington 165 Gr. S & W. However I have heard that there is a 147 Gr. that is awsome. I would really appreciate any help (Specific load, weight, manufacturer etc.) that you can give me. [/b]I will be using a Bar-Sto barrel and a 15 Lb. spring in a captured tungsten recoil rod with buffer. Additionally I have a Glockworx trigger system that I am very happy with.
