  1. This all sounds complicated to me. Yes I am relatively new to AR's. I am considering the MTAC 1.5 X 6. Can someone take me in a basic 101 format how to zero the scope - I mean at what distance do I zero the main dot and then for what distance do I use the dots going down.

    Stag 3G

The rifle is well worth the wait. It is one heck of a package. However you will have to change the Stagg "SUPER" muzzle brake. It is just not any good. I cannot figure out how they put such an excellent rifle together and then put this muzzle brake on it. It just doesn't make any sense. There are many brakes out there that are 100% better. Throw one of these on and you will be very happy ! Have patience and wait for the rifle to come in.
  3. What effect if any does the extra mass of a M-16 carrier have in comparison to the AR-15 carrier ?
  4. If you are looking for a micro-dot you should consider the Primary Arms Micro Dot. The quality is excellent, their customer service is second to none and you will save lots of $$$$$$$ at the same time. You will not be sacrificing quality !
  5. I had several comps. The Titan is good. I also like the Spike's Dynacomp on a 18". But I now use one made by a local competitive shooter/gunsmith ( Coheti Comp on U-tube ) that is very effective but loud.I find this one to be better in taming recoil. However when I go to the range it bothers whoever is next to me. This Pri Quiet comp that is available at Midway is almost as good in controlling recoil but much better in reducing the noise level than the Titan or my comp.
  6. Went to the range and a club member had a Pri-Quiet Compensator. It is small, light and very effective in reducing recoil. Does anyone have one of these and what is your evaluation ? Even though I am happy with the comp that I now have I thought that this one is awsome and more comfortable because of the noise reduction and I am thinking of ordering one.
  7. You have to try the Spike's Tactical Dynacomp. It is the quietest. And it is very effective in controlling recoil. A have tried many of the more popular muzzle brakes and when everything is considered it comes out on top. I was pleasantly surprised !
  8. So when is there going to be one available for AR-15 in 223/5.56 ?
  9. CCOKER, Please compare the Miller Precision Arms compensator's size, weight and noise reduction to the Titan. The MPA Hammerhead's video is very impressive. Also what do you know about the new Titan compensator coming out ? Any and all information that you provide will be greatly appreciated!
  10. bushmeat, how tough is it to switch out the muzzle brakes? I am looking to switch to a Titan myself and don't know much about removing the 3G comp from mine? Do I need a gunsmith to do this? It's not that I don't like the 3G comp. I'm relatively new to the AR world. But, I shot one with a Titan comp on it and now want to switch after comparing. It is relatively easy to remove the muzzle brake from the Stag Arms 3 G. Simply apply heat with a heat gun to soften the effect of the loctite and then remove it with a wrench. Then to put it on reverse the process. Remember to clean the thread of the barrel bofore putting on loctite. And of course tune the muzzle brake to the rifle and your shooting style. The Titan is certainly a very good effective comp. But never the less it is very loud.
  11. I would like to purchase a regular two point quality comfortable sling. I do not want a tactical combat type sling. It will be used for walking distances, plinking, range etc. I might try a few rifle matches but no serious tactical GIO type stuff. Can you please recommend some.
  12. Mini Uzi, please contact me directly at my E-mail address. I love my Stag Arms 3 Gun rifle. I think that for the price nothing comes close. And I really do not know of any AR-15 that I would rather own. Stag Arms did an incredible job on the rifle. But of course you have to replace the comp that comes with it. I am not going to beat a dead horse for it is what it is. If you are in the south Florida area you are more than welcome to try my AR-15. Would like to hear from you, Pumagsd@yahoo.com
  13. The Titan has to be tuned to the rifle and shooter's style. A properly tuned Titan between 1 and probably closer to two for a right handed shooter will be a lot more effective than one that is not tuned. It is no coincidence that the Titan is the choice of the majority of top 3 gun shooters !
  14. Kudos to Stag Arms. I returned their comp and they sent me their new and modified comp. They get A for effort but failure for results. The modified comp is simply not effective. But Stag Arms did try. Afterwards I purchased several different popular comps and together with some that I already had set out to try them on the rifle. My results were as follows; I found the Spike to be my favorite, Titan a close second and the big Talon third. But I ended up with a comp manufactured by a local gunsmith on my rifle. And now when I go to the range other AR-15 shooters are in awe. The end result is that I am ecstatic with my Stag Arms 3 G.
  15. Trying to decide which rifle scope to purchase for 3 gun. I thought that the Burris fullfield MTac 30 was the best bang for the buck but now I see that Midway has an inclusive in a Burris fullfield Tac 30 1-4 x 24. I currently have a micro dot from Primary Arms that I am very happy with for close range but need magnification for shots 100 yards and further.........
  16. Isn't it great when we share opinions and respect each other ? I have learned an awful lot in this forum and continue to learn. Subsequently I appreciate very much evryone's participation whether I agree or not just the same. Thank you !
  17. MPeltier, no financial interest here.I am simply trying to share my mistakes after wasting a considerable amount of $ so others do not fall to the same mistakes. Again, the Titan and Rolling Thunder comps are good. ( I currently have a Titan that I will sell you cheap.)I just think that the Spike is better. The Spike I will not sell. The Spike reduces recoil as good and noise much better than the Titan and Rolling Thunder in my opinion. And after trying most popular compensators the Coheti compensator, which I did not provide contact information for, is by far the very best and because of this I have it on my new Stag Arms 3 G. Again the Titan and Rolling Thunder should be tuned between 1 & 2 o'clock for right handed shooters and opposite for left handed shooters.
  18. The Titan and Rolling thunder are probably the most effective popular comps being used. But they need to be properly tuned to between 1 & 2 o'clock. However after trying about 7 different comps my choice of popular comps is the new Spike compensator. But if you really want to check out the very best go on U-tube and check out the Coheti compensator. I have one of these on my new Stag Arms 3 G and am very happy with it. It is manufactured by a local machinist, shooter /gunsmith. The rest of the comps are now being used as paper weights.
  19. VTAC sling is designed to be attached to the top of stock. This is why I am trying to find out if there are alternatives.
  20. I purchased the VTAC upgraded tactical 2 point padded sling for my Stag Arms 3 G AR-15. I love the quality and just about everything about the sling but do not know how to attach it to the Magpul ACS stock.I would appreciate it if someone would help me out by either suggesting how to do it or recommending another sling. If anyone has an AR with an ACS stock and attached the VTAC it would be a great help if could you post a picture. Again, any suggestions and ideas will be greatly appreciated.
  21. The very best bang for your buck will be Primary Arm's Micro Dot. It will set you back less than $ 100.00. The quality is excellent. And just as important Primary Arms' customer service is second to none ! These people believe that customers are very important and also stand behing their products. They appreciate the business that you give them.
  22. Don't hunt. Mostly shoot 223/5.56 at 100 yards or less.......
  23. Would like to purchase a range scope to check my hits when sighting in a rifle. What should I look for in a scope? Is there such a thing as a favorite range scope ? Any and all suggestions and recommendations will be greatly appreciated !
  24. Great article in Front Sight magazine about the Stag Arms 3G Competition Rifle.............and the compensator. They also agree that the comp pushes the barrel down. They say that the comp is too effective. But then again we already knew this so why beat a dead animal. Still the Stag Arms 3G rifle is an excellent rifle. Change the comp and you have an outstanding rifle. I think that its the very best rifle in its price category.
  25. Its no big deal.....I am replacing the comp ! Geeeeezzz, sorry I stepped on to the toes of those having a fenancial interest in Stag Arms. I was only expressing my objective opinion. With that being said, the original comp does not work for everyone, including an expert writer for a national publicatinon cannot be wrong. Why is it that Stag Arms 3 Gun members use comps other than the Stag Arms 3 G Super Comp ? Have you asked yourself this question. You cannot argue with facts. Point that I was previously trying to make was that it would be beneficial for Stag Arms to provide a comp comparable in quality to its rifle. It would make it a much more attractive package to the educated consumer. For example the Mculek comp is provided by DPMS on their Panther 3 gun rifle. This comp you can buy for only $ 29.00. The Stag Arms 3 Gun rifle is excellent. In my opinion it is better than the DPMS as it is. I am glad that I bought it ! Ending this thread .............
