Gun runs fine as is with a JP adjustable block and the stock buffer from DPMS. I was just wondering if there was something different about using those parts on a 308. Sounds like it's just like the little guns though. Thanks guys.

Full mass, regular ol' DPMS.

Anyone using a UBR on a 308? Wondering what buffer you used, Brownells has an ultra heavy 308 carbine buffer that has a decent reputation. But is it needed if you have an adjustable gas block? Anything else about using one in this application is welcome.

Any overly tall shooters out there?
technetium-99m replied to wigbill98's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
I'm 6'5" and wear between a 36" and 38" inseam. Life is hard. -
Just single vision with bizarre astigmatism correction. I'll give them a ring tomorrow, got busy today.

I'm surfing Rudy's website looking for a new pair of shooting glasses. You can enter your prescription and they say that they will contact you to discuss options when you fax in the Rx from your optometrist. My Rx is outside the range they give to input (they stop at -4.00 and I need -4.75 and -5.00). Of course they are closed on weekends so I'll have to wait until Monday to call them. Does anyone have experience with getting a set of Rydons with a prescription like that?

Mr. Bulletfeeder hands down.

Stuart got me straightened out, Thanks all!

Looking at the CZC website and I see some thin shadow safeties. Are these the actual parts from the 2075 or are they similar? In other words, are they OE on another production approved gun?

Springfield Armory Mainspring Housing

The housing internals are different. You need a minimum of a new spring and cap, you may need a new pin retainer too. -
Super 1050 Toolhead Bolt Stuck/Seized
technetium-99m replied to mellow13's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Mine was stupid tight from the factory. Drop the tool head down and put a big wrench on it (I used a breaker bar). -
Has anyone tried using the standard 1050 case expanding parts vs. the powder funnel that comes with the Mr. Bulletfeeder? The machine runs a bit smoother with the standard 1050 parts.

Lee dies are just fine, so are their handheld priming tools. Their presses are another story.

Production optics won't be low cost. You will see the same purpose built production guns with expensive optics on them. A nice tuned CZ with an RMR milled into the slide will cost more than an Edge. Let's at least be honest about this point.

I'm wondering what the rationale is for the safe area rule? Does your board think it makes the games safer? Are you dealing with a hostile board? I've always wondered how boards are fine with rifles being pointed above berms at high power matches but lose their minds when pistols are pointed above berms during reloads.

From OK here, when we fill out a 4473 all that the dealer calls in is the buyers info and whether its a handgun, long gun, or receiver. The gun's info does go on the 4473 but it stays with the dealer. I'd imagine that if you walked into a police station with a gun wanting them to run the serial number and it does come back stolen the very next thing they will do is ask you to put your hands behind your back.

I'm willing to be shown the error of my ways. Try it provisionally and see who shows up to shoot it.

Just a question regarding slide mounted dots. Are there any scopes made right now that can survive long term on top of a gun? Honestly, right now I see this shifting members around rather than adding shooters, but I've been wrong before. I picture the guys who run dots on carry guns are the same guys who say things like "that competition stuff will get you killed on the street." Once the dots on common guns concept becomes more mainstream then yes, it probably will add members.

Building SS 40 S&W and casting own bullets
technetium-99m replied to earplug's topic in 10mm/40 Caliber
I made M with a Kart barrel in my limited gun and home cast bullets. The Lee 175gr TC 6 cavity was the only real serious option when I was casting. I used Thompson's Blue Angel for lube and Solo1000 for powder. Worked very well. -
I don't have an issue with the concept of it but I do not think its going to be a reasonably priced entry division for long. If it becomes a division you will start seeing purpose built guns. Add up the cost of a decent base gun, trigger work, an optic tough enough to live on the slide and withstand 20,000 plus rounds, and all the gunsmith time to melt that bad boy into the slide. I personally think you will end up spending stock Edge money on a PO gun. And then we're back to people talking about being competitive. The concept is cool, implementation I think will be hard.

Anyone used one of the Samson 308 rails? Just got a new 20" DPMS classic and it needs a forend.
