  1. ...and then there was me, thinking about arguing with the RO (was either BOZ or Mark, don't remember) that I *couldn't* have missed that popper because I *saw* the sights when I pulled the trigger. Everyone else probably got a laugh that I ran away from the start position leaving one of the two poppers still standing.
  2. Very cool! My father (69) has recently moved close and has come to a few matches, but hasn't shot. He has done a few rounds of trap and skeet with us and he still has it! My 12 year old enjoys the matches even more with Grandpa watching.
  3. <<rolling eyes>> .... DAAAaaaaaaAAAADDD!
  4. It looks like I'll be back in SD the week of 1/11 - 1/15. What kind of match will there be that week on Thursday? Jason, you going to do that one? Theo, I appreciate the info about bringing hi-cap mags to CA if for a match. Would there be a problem if I was to bring a second gun (with mags) for a coworker there in CA to shoot Thursday? I am psyched! I've only shot once since August when I busted up my leg. Edrick, I looked for you. I even grabbed the clipboard for a while so I could look through names but I never saw yours. Or did I talk to you and forget? I am terrible with names..just ask my wife whats-her-name. Ari, you going to make it up there on the 14th? Want to hit the range one night before that to practice?
  5. Thanks! I've always had good luck following the instructions in the manual, but I still have to consult the manual each (infrequent) time.
  6. Thank you for posting all of that! I had missed the part about not sending a handgun through the USPS, before.
  7. Like a mallard or a wood? Clockwise or counter? Anyway, since it is in pieces, here's a pic to confirm:
  8. I just went down and took mine apart to see...looks the same as yours. Now will you help me put it back together?
  9. LOL! So if you bounce them off the barrels and still knock down the steel, it's all good...right?
  10. I have had that pleasure twice and he is the kind of person all parents wish they could claim. Oh man, so close in Limited...it won't be long before GM!
  11. Oh man...I can see how that would p*$$ you off!
  12. Theo, thanks! It looked like a fun match and you guys moved people along well. It'll be back the second week of January!
  13. Apparently the USPSA match this month was rescheduled to this week because of Christmas. I look forward to making it back in January. Thanks to Jason for the generous offer of equipment. If I have trouble bringing mine next time I might take you up on it.
  14. I'll be the odd one out... You mentioned a 5906. I like a 2nd/3rd gen S&W for someone not too familiar with guns. I like the idea of the manual safety and the long, DA pull for that first shot. I went that route with a 469 until I was comfortable enough to keep my finger off the trigger of an M&P. Of course, I did have to replace all of the springs in my aging gun...
  15. Hey! You wouldn't be upset if you lost me as a friend. How about ME? Wait...you're in Canada. Y'all breed 'em for warmth not speed up in them parts, right? Maybe not....
  16. I appreciate it, but I'm still not quite mobile enough to shoot a match (unless there's very little movement). I might have to come out and watch, video, make rude comments...though. I just looked...appears to be an hour or so north of San Diego. I'll have to see what time I get out of work down here.
  17. Cool! Tomorrow as in Thursday? I'm not too far from there (maybe 15 minutes). What time?
  18. I would go to http://gunbroker.com, select the Pistols section and search for 1006. Looks like 450-700 from what little I saw, though I would think they would be worth more.
  19. Since you've only posted 5 times, you can click on your name in the upper left corner where it says: "Logged in as: Something" From there you can click on the Posts tab in the middle control. When you get too prolific, you can instead click on Option along the left side and then "Find Member's posts"
  20. The amount of work that the gals and guys at Mid Carolina put into the matches really pay off for those lucky enough to attend. The planning and work that goes into setting up stages of that quality is incredible. I know most people think that getting results and awards out is easy "because the computer does all that", but I had the pleasure of getting to watch Linda and Julie do an awesome job of managing volunteer help with little to no experience. Thankfully I'm close enough to benefit from all of their hard work most every month (yes, their monthly matches are that good, too).
  21. Wow! Very nice! Thank you for doing all of that.
  22. LOL! I was joking about the fact that at first glance, it looks like the front background is slit and stuck to the front brake line. I didn't realize they built the front fender that way to feed the brake line through.
  23. That is a kick-ass job on the side plate numbers. Not too sure about the front number plate, though...
  24. I'll be in San Diego the week of Dec 14th through the 18th. I'm not going to bother trying to bring any guns with me (no 10 round mags), but I'd rather go watch a match than sit in the hotel room at night. Any weeknight matches in the area?
