  1. "If you can't show me the math then it's just your damn opinion!" SFC John Simpson, US Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School SOTIC Instructor
  2. Go light. Power bars or some such, gatorade, trail mix, and an ocasional packet of tuna. I also carry Red Bull, I know they are not the greatest nutrition but man they get you wound up for a stage!
  3. Bring at least X 2 the match round count. You never know when you will need the extra or loan it to a squad mate. I have had a couple of matches where i had to borrow ammo and the folks on my squad were good enough to loan it to me so I always bring extra in case I have to loan some out. A new shootier won't forget it and will learn a valuable lesson.
  4. I really consider it an great chance to learn. I shoot my game paln becuase I'm not a GM but I'm always listening and watching. At the the MGM Ironman this past summer I was squadded with some really good GMs, I learned a termendous amount, tried a few things that I probalbly wouldn't have tried except for their advice and shot a little better because of it.
  5. I had to step out for a number of years because of work, when I got back in I just called my renewal in and they put back where I was when I had to stop. Worked out great because I was really bad from lack of practice and shooting matches. I'm still not very good but am at least current.
  6. Concentrate on refining my mental focus. Shoot more 3 gun matches and quit working so much. Enjoy the heck out of the best shooting sport there is!
  7. Sorry, Glock G35. I was typing and talking on the phone at the same time.
  8. I would go with a Glock G34 and dress it up with a few items or a CZ, both are really good guns, are competitive in Limited and won't break the bank. I have one of each and am happy with them. Good luck and good shooting!
  9. That is awesome! The young shooters are the future and we all need to support them. Bravo Zulu!
  10. I would like to STRONGLY second what 02Fatboy stated about getting the lifter welded up. I was being cheap and didn't get it done and then on a stage at a 3 gun match....... Well you know the rest of the story and now I have a wleded and polished one.
  11. I'm like everybody else here and have several differnt ones that I really like, JP, PRI, Troy, etc.. I think that you might want to give a good hard look at Lancer's carbon fiber handguard. I got one about two weeks ago and have been real pleased with it. I put it and a JP 18" barrel on an upper. It points, shoots and moves from target to target qucikly and very smoothly. I expected it to be light but it is better/lighter than I expected; 13.3oz IIRC.
  12. Currently running a Surefire MB556K and really like it.
  13. Hornady 55gr VMAX and 77gr Sierra MatchKing
  14. You are in the best place! Check out the Classisfed for used stuff, I'v gotten some good deals here. For new, as has already been posted; Shooter's Connection.
  15. That's pretty cool! I copied that one for use at a later date.
  16. Dillon D-Terminator electronic scale. Accurate, simple and easy to use.
  17. I've tired both colors and the red seems to work best for me. Having said that i do like the green tritum sights on my carry gun.
  18. I did something very similar with my Dr. Once she understood what i was trying to do she get me sorted out quickly. I have the daily wear and then ones for shooting. I thought it would be a pain but turned out to be no big deal.
  19. Welcome. I believe that each shooter should sight in their gun. Good news is that you now know how to do that and can now always confirm your own zero.
  20. FN SLP, runs right out of the box and shoots soft.
  21. There is a young man out of Alabama, Ryan Gale, Rule of Concealment doing some really nice work and is priced very reasonable.
  22. I got an SX2 and was really happy with it. It shoots soft but as previously stated it a bit on the heavy side. I did add a NC bolt handle, tube extnesion and a polished lifter other than that it is as it came out of the box.
  23. Good advice here. I went through two shotguns before I just asked one of the better shooters what he was using, it happened to be a Winchester SX2. I bought one had a few tweaks(polished the lifter after tearing a finger up reloading it at the DPMS Tri-gun a couple of years ago) and just practiced with it.
  24. I have used both and prefer the Storm cases. They are lighter and the latches don't break your fingers opening them. I heard that the newer Pelican had better latches but don't have any of the newer ones to verify that.
