  1. This is for a 38 super. I was hoping to get info from someone who has actually tested/uses the BBIs or even Bayou bullets with the new coating.
  2. I am looking to try out some BBIs in my Open gun. I have read some are using N105 and Autocomp but haven't found much on load data. So, what are y'all using? Please include the following info: 1. Bullet weight 2. Grains of powder and type 3. OAL 4. Primer
  3. Vegas was lost on me, I don't gamble and don't get into the shows. That said, it gave me a good place to start from on a tour of the west (Grand Canyon area, Petrified Forest, Santa Fe, Taos, etc). About the only thing I liked in Vegas was the range and its location.
  4. Looking at the online squadding there should be 20 slots left..... My app should have been there by at least last week, we'll wait and see.
  5. @&$€£¥#%^ - Well, it had already sold when I called about it. So, the new question is 26" American or shorter length Comfortech model?
  6. I like what you guys are saying especially since its the more economical choice! That said, will I have any issues running a 26" barrel?
  7. I have found an 26" M1 used but in great condition for $600. I can get a new 26" M2 for $850. Is it worth it to spend the extra for the M2 and would I be better off looking for a 24" M2 American? Also, is the comfortech stock on the regular M2 worth the extra money?
  8. Mobile Pistol Shooters will be having a match the 31st (Saturday). If you're interested PM me and I will get you directions.
  9. Thanks Hurley, John told me on Saturday that he would be there after Thanksgiving, I'll send him an email about bringing the 3G1. The JP trigger is on my "options list. Adding it would put my build at the same price as the 3G1. After shooting your JP, I'm sold on the trigger. If I'm not mistaken, I am planning to use the same barrel as the 3G1 in my build so the weight will be about the same. I'll give them a look. Thanks for the help.
  10. I am wanting to get into 3gun but have a budget. of $1500 for gun and optics. I have put together a build on Midway to gt an idea of what I will spend if building from scratch vs buying a DPMS 3G1. The prices are close so I was wanting to get some imput on which would be better - my build or theirs for the money. I went with the YHM upper and lower mainly because they were cheaper than others but one feature that I like about the YHM lower is that it has a machined in magwel somewhat like the JP lowers. I am looking for other options on the following items but would want to keep the price fo each item under the price listed next to it. barrel - $250. Free float Tube - $150 (must be lighter than the YHM listed in my build) Here's my build list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Ak-KPbRtaZcbdDNRaGVVY1ItbEdrQUJoWHFVdUJsNFE&single=true&gid=0&output=html If I have left anything out or you know of a better price somewhere else or a better part that cost the same or less please let me know. I have found the DPMS 3G1 online from $1100-$1200 plus S&H and FFL. If you know of a better price point me there. Thanks, Jason
  11. Get in touch with Jim Norman at OBCATS in Old Bridge. He was able to hook me up with a gun and ammo (You can't buy ammo in NJ without a valid permit.) when I was up that way. One of the nicest groups of shooters that I have had the pleasure to shoot with.
  12. I recently did some consulting for a company where there was an employee named Willie Tucker!! A friend of mine went to a high school where they had a teacher named Frieda Butts....and she was a big lady.
  13. I am loading 40 cal mixed brass. The shellplate is moving all the way to the top. The sizing die and the seating die both have just a small gap between the die and shellplate. Before loading the last 500 round I completely cleaned the press and lubed it.
  14. I am having problem keeping a consistent belling on my 650. I have replaced the lock ring and even made pencil marks on the powder die and the top of the press so that I can be sure nothing is moving. While loading I may get 50 to 100 rounds before I notice that a bullet won't sit on top of a brass. Once this happens I will remove 1-5 cases without trying to seat a bullet just to see if it will work itself out. So far it hasn't... Whenever the belling changes I check the following: 1. Is the shell plate tight with no wobble? --- YES 2. Has the powder die moved or the lock ring come loose? --- NO 3. Can I see any change in the travel of the powder bar? --- NO Next I readjust the powder die until I get 0.010 of belling at the case mouth per Dillon. I then make a mark on the die to match my index mark on the top of the loader. Next I check to make sure that the correct amount of powder is still being fed. So far i have moved the powder die a half turn. This has taken about 1000 rounds since the problem started, adjusting whenever it happens. I have taken the powder funnel off and inspected it for broken parts and wear and everything looks to be ok. The press only has about 8 to 10 thousand round on it. Any Ideas????
  15. Pat, thanks for your reply. That solved the problem.
  16. Thanks, I will try this when I get back in town this weekend. I didn't even think of trying something like that.
  17. I just switched out my medium curved insert for a long flat. The medium curved was snug in the base but came out without much protest. The long flat is new and fits loosely in the base and would probably fall out if not for the overtravel screw. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or trick to correct this issue. Would putting a bit of blue locktite between the base and insert hurt anything?
  18. I'm looking forward to this year's match. If we have the same group that is going to the Al State match, MPSA will be bringing 12+ Shooters!! You should start seeing our apps in the next couple of weeks.
  19. I sent off 7 entries on Monday, they should be in your PO box Wednesday or Thursday. MPSA has a full squad+ coming this year.
  20. I was about to post the Love and Rockets - Bound for Hell but The Antichrome beat me to it. Great some BTW. Here's another of my favorite that has a definite train ride folksy feel to it. REM - Driver 8

    Boudreaux

In Louisiana , this fella, Boudreaux, had a bad vehicle accident, caused by an 18-wheeler that ran a stop sign. In court, the trucking company's fancy lawyer was questioning Boudreaux: Didn't you say, at the scene of the accident, "I'm fine"? the lawyer asked.. Boudreaux responded, "Let me told you what happened. Me, I had jus loaded my favorite mule, Bessie, into da . ." "I didn't ask for any details," the lawyer interrupted. "Just answer the question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, "I'm fine!"? Boudreaux said, "I had jus got Bessie into da trailer and I was driving down da road . . " The lawyer interrupted again and said, "Judge, I am trying to establish the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the State Policeman on the scene that he was just fine. Now several weeks after the accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to answer the question." By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Boudreaux's answer and said to the lawyer, "I'd like to hear what he has to say about his favorite mule, Bessie.." Boudreaux thanked the Judge and proceeded, "I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite mule, into da trailer and was driving her down da highway when dis huge semi-truck and trailer ran da stop sign and smacked my truck right in da side. Me, I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into da udder.. I was hurting, real bad and didn't want to move at tall. But, I could herd ole Bessie moanin and groanin. Me, I knew she was in some kind o' terrible shape just by her groans. Shortly after da accident, a State Policeman, he came on da scene. He herd Bessie moanin' and groanin' so, him, he went over ta her. After he took hisself a look at her, he took out his gun and shot her between da eyes. Den da Patrolman came cross da road, gun in hand, and looked at me, and said 'How are you feeling?...'" "...Now what da hell would you say?!"
