  1. I know my drawing below sucks, but consider that the diagram below is your waist. Would it be easier to retrieve your mag from position X or position Y. Consider X to be dead center, inline with your belly button and Y to be 4 - 5 cm to the left of your belly button. I have noticed that I constantly have smoother reloads when I grab from position Y. But if X would be quicker then I would change. Any comments? _Y__X____ ( ) ( ) (_________)
  2. With regards to dry firing. Is there a good par time to work on. I have worked my par time down to 1.00 on a reload, is this sufficient? My time for a draw from hands on side is currently at .60 Does anyone have an idea if this can be broken. I have tried hundreds of time but just cannot bring it down to under 0.60 This is ofcourse only in dry fire. The real test waits to be seen today. (Edited by Mo Zee at 10:56 pm on Jan. 8, 2003)
  3. I have recently started dry firing with extreme determination and would like some feedback. (Please consider the following scenarios as a right handed person.) 1. When doing reloads which is faster? a. Pressing the mag release button, and tilting the gun to the left revealing the magwell or b. Pressing the mag release button, flicking the gun a wee bit to the right and then turing the gun to the left to reveal the magwell. Personally I have tried both ( in dry fire ) and I have seen that option B is quicker for me. I havent live fired it as yet, hopefully will be done today, and then I might have a positive answer. Are there any Pros and Cons in doing option B? (Edited by Mo Zee at 10:54 pm on Jan. 8, 2003)

    LAMR

Thanx for the responses, we had a bit of a problem over the weekend with one of the competitors so I just needed some information. Thanx once again

When a competitor goes on the line, is the competitor allowed to walk through the stage. I know that it is possible to walk thorugh while the squad is patching/pickup up brass and plates. Is there a minimum time that can be walked through? Another question... Once the LAMR command is given how many minutes does a competitor have to get ready without being pressurised by the RO.
  7. A few months ago I came across some posts regarding the cmore dot and how to clean it. This might not have any impact on your question but you might be able to use it. As Flex has said that your dot module ( thingy that produces the light ) might be dirty, you can try this solution. The best and safest way to clean the C-More Dot Module is with a lens cleaner (Birchwood Casey or something similar) and a small, soft bristled brush. Don't use stiff bristled brushes as they will damage the mask. Don't use a solvent as modules are plastic. The women's cosmetics counter is a good source for cheap, small, soft bristled brushes. Flood the Dot Module with lens cleaner and work the fluid in the hole with the brush. Use a lot of fluid and press the brush in and out over the hole. Repeating the procedure a few times for 20 or 30 seconds completely cleans out the hole without damaging the LED or the mask. Hope it works.
  8. Just wondering if I am the only one having trouble viewing TT's pics. I get a gateway error. Thanx
  9. dvc40jim, I managed to come right with a few stockists in South Africa, thanx for the help. This leads to my next question. I have read your last post regarding the frame and different types of lenses however I really like the Ekynox. What do you think about them in comparison to the Rydon. What is the difference in weight and field of view. Also does it offer interchangeable lenses? Thanx
  10. Is there a website that offers the sale of the Rudy Project glassess, or perhaps an outlet here in South Africa. I would love to try them out. Thanx
  11. SA, I had the same problem on two of my scopes. The weather down here is pretty hot at all times so I dont think that is was the weather affecting the plastic at all. I think it was just the matter of over tightening the screw. C-more gave me the same deal on both the scopes (89$ ea) and it was a pleasure dealing with Kristy Woodward. Cheers
  12. Vince, (sorry, not enough time to really phrase my question properly, if needs be I will rephrase) I am not sure how the committee looks at this but it is a concern with the calibration of poppers. i do understand the logic in shooting/calibrating the popper at the top but my problem is that the whole of the popper is available to shoot, why not calibrate the popper at the bottom. Thanx
  13. With regards to shooting on the move. At what distance would you not shoot and move. On sunday we had a shoot where we had 3 targets say about 20-25 meters away and the rest of the COF further on but that is not of concern right now. From the start position I drew my gun and while slowly moving forward shot all three targets on the move. Would it be better to stand and shoot all three with better splits and tracks or simply do as I did and shoot on the move while sacrificing some time. Thanx (Edited by Mo Zee at 10:53 pm on Oct. 30, 2002)
  14. I am not 100% sure on this so dont quote me..... Austin was shooting an sti frame and slide. I think a 6 port hybrid comp with a firepoint/optima2000. There is nothing more than that.... Thanx
  15. I havent tried that drill but I have tried this one....draw and fire two, reload and fire two. My personal best was about 2.30 However still working on it. There s still a lot of time that I can cut out. My reload stands at about 1.30 This was done at about 5 yards. Thanx (Edited by Mo Zee at 10:52 pm on Sep. 8, 2002)
  16. I have recently noticed that I was using too much trigger finger which meant that I was not consistant with any of my shots. I have built some plastic gizmo on the right side of my gun so that not too much trigger does go in. With that said is there anything called "shooting with too littler trigger finger"??? I have not yet shot the gun but it does feel quite comfortable. Thanx for the comments
  17. If I am not happy with the squad I am in, who can I escalate to??? I have spoken to the local stats officers and are not interested in listening to me... Thanx
  18. I could order it but with the currect exchange rate, it is quite expensive. If I do not get it at the world shoot, I will save up and buy it later. Thanx
  19. unfortunately I have not been able to get any results on the ammo. Maybe I have not done enough research. Anyways I am looking for Brians book, slide glide and well that combo. I think it is $27.91 Will some one please bring that for me and I will pay cash for it once on the range. The slide glide should be #1. Thanx to who ever replies. Mo Zee
  20. Are there any particular mag wells that fit great on a caspian frame. I do not have one on currently, but would like to experiement with them. Thanx
  21. does anyone have dry fire drills for transitions/tracks, I have tried Matts drill out but I am burnt out on that.... Any new ones around. Thanx
  22. Guys, please comment on the above rule. I read the rule book but it does not come anything close to my understanding. Does the RO measure from the magwell(far end of the butt) or from the near end of the butt nearest to the slide??? Thanx
  23. Needless to say that I wil be there as well..
  24. Thanx for the comments, They have all helped
  25. We have a loca e-mail forum here in SA, and a friend of mine read up on article about an area 4 match. This is what he wrote: A top shooter stood on line and drew his gun to start loading before the RO gave the "Load and make Ready" command. The RO DQ'd him (Rule 10.3.3) and apparently the shooter made a big issue (that some experienced as unsportsmanlike behaviour) on the range and was then re-instated by the Range Master. No arbitration procedure was followed. The shooter went on to win the match. Can any one comment.
