  1. Thanks for the feedback everyone. Garmil, I've looked at the specs but perhaps i read them incorrectly. Do you know how wider the FOV is compared to the Razor?
  2. So I've been playing around in 3gun for some time now and just purchased a new rifle. I'm looking at variable power optics which, here in South Africa is scarce and pricey. I've shortlisted 2, the Vortex Razor JM1 or the Swarovski Z8i BRT. The price tag on the Swarovski is almost 1000USD more here, so I would like to know if it's worth it? Yes it has 8x magnification but I'm primarily using it for IPSC (max 300m) and 3gun, so I don't think that Max power is a train smash. Any feedback with be appreciated. 3. Welcome Tayls, good to see you here. I'm from JHB, ZA. just had the privilege to shoot with David Pruitt at our nationals this past weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. I was window shopping at Cmore's website and found the option to purchase dot modules for the aluminum bodies of their scopes. I have 2 of the aluminum scopes which work great l, but I also have a few modules laying around for the polymer scopes and the intention was to keep them for spares. Is there any reason not to use what I have in the aluminum bodied ones? Here's the link - http://cmore.com/store/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=AMOA&sid=37lu5r6v5kh07fb482t87it6dsfjf479 I've already emailed Cmore but thought you guys would have some input on it. 6. I haven't considered this option as yet. I will look into it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Advice as in if it can be done, and things to look out for. Thanks for the input you've provided. The gunsmith that will work on it is pretty knowledgeable and I have confidence in his ability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I am unable to find a 0.936" gas block and most if not all of the dealers in South Africa have some from of a 0.750" gas block. Other than selling the bull barrel for an alternative, can someone shed advice with regards to turning the barrel down, up until the gas ports to accommodate the run of the mill gas blocks that I can find here? 9. I've been thinking about trying these. My concern is getting a kink in the aluminium when stepping on them after a reload is done. Is this a concern? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks will do my best to get them working with out spacers etc. Worst case i will have to get spacers Spacers and springs with followers, you need both of them. IIRC, the STI has 2 thinnish ribs and the SVI/SPS run 1 broad rib. I have not used STI mags but what Glk21C says makes perfect sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Don't know of hand, but I went as long as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yes super mags will work, depending on OAL. you will have to play around with that once you get your gun. I have SPS mags that I use in both, my super and 9 major guns without any change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'm pretty sure yours will be super mags. 9mm Major springs and spacers are few and far between here in ZA. I suppose the 2 dealers may be able to bring those in for you albeit a bit of a wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for the feedback everyone. Will do so.
  15. A buddy bought a few more of these than he actually needs and I might take a few from him. Has anyone used these that can comment on them? http://imgww.com/mka-001.aspx
  16. Awesome seeing more South Africans joining the forum. Hope you shooting the nationals in Pretoria!
  17. Wow, those chrome lined barrels sure do last. Maybe I am being over cautious for nothing. If I change you more than welcome to it. I might have a colt upper (sp1) laying around. Drop me a pm if you keen, I will send you some pics.
  18. Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I am limited on the budget so cannot build up another AR for the moment. There is nothing really wrong with the gun, I am just being pro active in rebarreling it as I assumed the gun is old and I have no history on the gun. How many rounds are these barrels good for?
  19. As the topic states, I am replacing my rifle length barrel on my colt sp1. Was thinking of going with a 16 mid length. Is this recommended for IPSC rifle? Any ideas if it will make factor? The furthest distance we shoot is about 150 yards. If it s recommended to change over what parts do I need? I have the barrel and gas tube on my list. Have the standard front sight with gas block. Any thing else? Thanks for looking.
  20. I fitted mine by myself. At first it took some figuring out where to file, but once that was figured out there were no problems. It took me about 2 hours, but I fitted/measured twice and filed once to ensure I didnt remove to much material. 3 of the 5 SPS mags I have, worked perfectly. The other 2 required light sanding to make them fit.
  21. As per subject, I would be interested to hear from fellow extrema owners if they have managed to ghost load them and what mods should be done if any to make them ghost loadable?
  22. I was about to order an AA chute but now I am quite curious as to why you recommend the Dmw claw.
  23. I have heard that the Benelli and the Beretta share similar characteristics. Can anyone confirm this?
  24. I shoot one in open. I built my own speed loader bracket and it works very good. Love the shotgun! Nothing stock works so you have to do your own. Ralph Arredondo also has one with his own loader bracket. Problem is he can't sell them without violating the patent on the tech loaders. You also have to extend the lifter like they do on the Benneli's for the speed loaders to work properly. Can you please upload some pics of the bracket you made? How did you manage to measure where the bracket should be attached as I am pretty sure there is a sweet spot for the placement. I would also appreciate pics of the lifter. I am in SOuth Africa for the rest of the year so all of this work would need to be done by myself.
