  1. The total final count was 286 (which includes 13 DQ's). The squadding schedule was used from last year... at the last moment - I discovered that I f*@!'d up and forgot to put everyone in for all stages. That's why we ended up with the 0700 starting time. Too many people... not enough daylight. There were 48 people shooting on Thursday; most were staff and some did not end up shooting the entire match - bummer for them. 14 of these were sponsored shooters that were vendors, and 3 were guys that got in at the last minute. The results s/b up today on the smm3g site. Sounds like all y'all had a good time. AzStatsChic
  2. The SMM3G is FULL. If you haven't sent in your application - you'll be put on a waiting list. New email for me lamarca@cox.net AZ Stats Chic a.k.a. A2Chic
  3. IPSC G34, If we were to go to a four day format, I would be mailing out the registration packets so that time is not "wasted" on check-in. I sincerely appreciate your reply and your comments. shred... You can be assured that we'll post Saturday night... A2Chic
  4. It takes approximately 5 hours with at least 4 people to set up the prize tables (Open; Limited; Limited-10; Production; and Revolver). Remember... this prize table last year had 118 yellow sheet items - and trying to be "fair" about divying the prizes up is not an easy task. There are 5 tables to build... waiting until the last minute might not seem like the thing to do... but there is not much choice in the matter due to late entries, DQs, and unforseen drops. As far as what we'll be doing on Sunday... looking at a proposed schedule - I have four stages on T-F-Sat; Sunday we can begin the final posting at 0700 with a mandetory 1 hour protest period. In that time, we could be setting up the Team Shoot - and begin that at 0800. This should take 1 1/2 to 2 hours. After that, we would have a Shoot-Off which would also take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. There is also a vendor tent available for those that choose not to participate or watch in either event. With these "extras" going on... we should be able to comfortably begin the prize tables around noon on Sunday. Having 400+ shooters, the prize table usually takes 2 - 3 hours. If any of the aforementioned side-matches take less time, we can begin earlier. We will start at 0650... and end at 1710. Happy? Bring Chocolate :-)
  5. How big an event are you talking about? This past year's "Area" event had 401 shooters. There were over 60 guns on the prize table. How big of an event does it have to be to be "worth" shooting for four days? A2C
  6. We are beginning to make plans for the Area 2 Championship match and wanted to get some feedback about planning an extra stage. We have made range improvements and have added a bay. We shot with 16 people per squad last year. If we add a stage - this adds 2 squads. This would reduce the shooter/squad to 14. Would you be willing or able to shoot this event as a four day event? Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - 4 stages per day. This leaves Sunday as a contingency day - for foul weather (not typical for AZ this time of year... but you never know). If all goes well, we could have a Team Shoot or Shoot-Offs on Sunday and get through the Prize Table within a reasonable time. What do you think??? Area2Chic
  7. A few years back, there was another Area event where the CROs, ROs and staff shot the match on an "un-advertised" date. This was the Thursday before the other scheduled competitors were shooting (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Evidently, at this event, the CROs, ROs and staff were disqualified because they shot on an un-advertised date. Since we got wind of this, we wanted to make sure that this didn't happen to anyone at our event. Yes, we have shooting on Thursday, but not everyone will shoot on Thursday - mainly CROs, ROs and staff with the possibility of a few sponsored shooters that need to shoot and work the match. A2Chic
  8. The Rio Salado Desert Classic will always be the second weekend in November. This year, as the USPSA Area 2 Championship - it will be held from Thursday through Sunday - November 11th - 14th, 2004. A2Chic
  9. Jon, You are now on "my list". It's a really, really short list... maybe not the kind of list you'd really want to be on... but nonetheless... You're Number 1, pal. A2C
  10. Next year's Area II will be at our range again. This was announced by our current Area II director - Jake Kempton. See all ya'll again in '04! A2Chic
  11. rtr - in answer to your question... shooter # 51 - she's a 14-year-old local Jr. smallbore shooter. Her coach is from the Jr. Smallbore program (Bob LaMarca - also the match's stage design coordinator - also my husband of 23 years). This is her first big shooting match - she came in last place Limited and overall. :-( Cute, eh? sincity... The CRO on stage 8 is not a "queen" - but she is very well respected at our club. If she didn't have that respect from her peers - she would not have been assigned the position of "CRO". As far as the incident... I wasn't there - maybe that was a bad call... ??? I'm glad you all had a good match - for the most part. Hopefully, we won't have to squad so heavy next year. Any other suggestions or comments are appreciated - either good or bad. We aim to please and hope to provide a most excellent match again next year (A2 for sure). A2Chic
  12. There were about 60 yellow sheet items on the prize tables. A2Chic
  13. Shred/LynnJones I'll update the spreadsheet per your requests... makes sense - for RO's, too... it would be nice to be called by name rather than "Staff". A2Chic
  14. # 77 gave me chocolate AND a rose * # 35 gave me SEEs - Almond Roca (now called another name?) * #150gave me SEEs - Almond Roca (now called another name?) * Those that cared the most... also gave hugs :-) * - my favorites... There were too many with gifts that I couldn't tell who was whom... I think that we took in over 30 #'s of stash - I was sharing while the 1 hour protest period was going on... Did you get some? :-) Thanks! Everyone was great, the match ran smoothly, only one rude person - almost got DQ'd for unsportsmanlike conduct... but they let him go. I guess that "we" didn't want to appear to be the "bad" guys. Hope he chooses not to come back - only my opinion. For the most part - the week was most excellent :-) Cheers! A2Chic
  15. BTW... Jake Kempton announced that the Area 2 match will again be at the Rio Salado Sportsman's Club in 2004. Cool!... Get those applications in early next year. Hope you all had a great time. It was nice to put faces w/names... See ya! - maybe for the SMM 3G-2004? There's a new Heavy-Metal class... check it out! www.smm3g.com A2Chic
  16. benos... You had no idea I shook your hand today. It was nice to see you out at the match. Will you ever shoot the match again? It's your hometown club - thanks for showing your face. A2Chic/AZ Stats Chic Barbara LaMarca Rio Salado Sportsmans Club Treasurer Mesa, AZ
  17. Thera are 33 GM's at this match. Because there are duplicates across the divisions... in Limited - there are 24 Limited classified GMs; 22 Open classified GMs; 4 Limited-10 classified GMs; and 3 Production classified GMs. As they are signed up to shoot: 10 Limited GM's (+1 M) = 11 17 Open GM's (+1 M) = 18 1 L-10 GM's (+1 M) = 2 0 Production GM's (+1 M; 1 U) = 2 Altogether... 33. Make sense??? Not all GMs chose to shoot their GM division. The interim results have been posted... A2Chic thx for the sweets :-)
  18. Hey you guys... I've received a lot of compliments about my commitment - Well... Thank you! :-) The chocolate thing... keeps me going - kind of a jokey thing that a friend of mine started at work years ago... that I adopted. The sugar buzz keeps me goin' :-) I truly enjoy do the "stats" thing & appreciate it when you all say thanks! The match is running pretty smoothly... so far - so good. I've sent the webfile to the USPSA main website and also to our Area 2 web guy Jerry Mallard. I didn't post last night 'cause I fell asleep in front of the computer. Knock-on-wood... I haven't made a "keying" error... as we verify all entries with a verification print-out. There are 400 shooters at this match... I'll have an exact count tomorrow. There are a couple of major sponsors that haven't checked in yet. BBQ tomorrow night... can't wait! A2Chic :-) p.s. I'm running out of chocolate... bring more. :-)
  19. Thanks for all the sweets... Good luck shooting the match! A2Chic
  20. SinCity... I'm NOT moving... and from what I've heard today, neither is the A2 match. Chuck S... W/Nuts! goes w/the personality (Where have you been?) ... did someone say "cake"?? A2Chic

And boy-oh-boy my #$@ is sore just about now... :-) The chocolate is just a comfort thing :-) I'll share... bring all you can carry... What's the weight limit on aircraft, anywise?? Remember to bring ammo, too. See all ya'll soon... A2Chic
  22. TDean... The tune: "Ain't nothin' like the REAL thing, baby... ain't nothin' like the REAL thing" fits this application... Ha-ha-ha. But... it's the thought that counts, right? Those w/chocolate - step to the front of the line - just kidding. A2Chic
