  1. That would definately put you into "OPEN" class. You would also have to leave the appendage on your firearm to comply with the rules regarding no changes to the configuration of your firearm(s) during the entire match - or DQ for unsportsmanlike conduct. See rules 2.6.1.3, 5.4 & 5.5 for details. SMM3G Rules A2Chic
  2. Don't bring a light. IF there is a dark house - the match will supply illumination... Az Stats Chic
  3. Round count estimates - not fully set in stone - but a good guess: Rifle - 150 rounds (allowing for double taps) Pistol - 100 rounds (allowing for double taps) Shotgun - 60 shot; 8 slugs Maximum distance ~ 300 yards. See all ya'll soon. A2Chic
  4. 2006 SMM3G in Mesa will be separating the Heavy Metal Auto from the Heavy Metal Pumps. We should have updated rules posted by 25 Dec. The hitch is, if you haven't already signed up, the waiting list is 70 deep. SMM3G Home Page A2Chic
  5. scottmilk9 - Agreed. We jokingly said something last year about doing just what mhearn stated - at the same figure. We were joking about it and there it ended. The staff that puts on this match are hard working folk - both at the match and at their "real" jobs. We all can appreciate those that complain, because we're right there beside you. A few of the locals asked to drop off their apps at the door - cause they know where we live. I have to be a bitkh about it and say "no" cause we need to be fair with everyone. We have meetings on Mondays and last night I did ask the rest of the guys the same old question: "can we go to four days?". Well - I just about got my head bit off and was scolded with a big long lecture about logistics, staffing, time off of work, reserving range time, and on and on... We just need to cap it at 250 - otherwise, we'd have to cut down on the quality/length of the stages - and we just don't need to go that route - it would degrade the match - and that's not why were here. We love this sport and strive to make our SMM3G a better match every year. We appreciate your continued support. A2Chic
  6. It just sux to have to call all you nice folk out there and try to explain bad news... a2chic
  7. No I'm not kidding you. I enjoy helping with the match, registration and stats. What I don't like are people that complain that we're either doing too good of a job, or that we're not doing a good enough job - or that we're poorly run - sometimes all in the same breathe. How do you keep a match from filling up in less than a week? ... Run it like poo? GMAB! A2Chic
  8. Not yet... I'm working on putting all the info into a database first... A2Chic
  9. Anyone wishing to be put on the waiting list must mail a completed application along with associated fees. Your check will not be cashed until there is a place for you - AND - I have contacted you to confirm that you still want to shoot the match. A2Chic
  10. The match is full - in only two days. Thanks for the continued support... A2Chic
  11. The section on the form marked "Circle All That Apply" - circle Tactical Scoped - or - Tactical Iron. In the bottom section, for your rifle - put the Make, Model and Caliber of your rifle. In the "Sights" section, for Tactical Iron - putting "Iron" is appropriate. If you are shooting any sort of optics - you must be specific and list what you will be using on your rifle for the match. In Open, you must list all optics, but not change your configuration - per the IMA 12/08/2004 rule 5.5 "Competitors will not reconfigure any firearm during the course of a match. (i.e. change caliber, barrel length, shotgun magazine tube length, sighting systems or stock style.) This will be considered Unsportsmanlike conduct" - "A participant shall be disqualified for unsportsman-like conduct" (IMA 12/08/2004 rule 2.5). (See also IMA 12/08/2004 rule 2.5.1[c] "Altering the configuration of firearms or equipment to gain advantage") In Tactical Scoped, you may only have one optic on your rifle. See the IMA 12/08/2004 rule 6.5.3 "Tactical Class scoped rifles may be equipped with no more than one (1) optical sight". A complete set of rules is available on the web site: SMM3Gun Home Page and follow the link to the rules page: SMM3Gun IMA Rules 12-08-2004 If you have any other rules questions, please contact the match directors via the contacts web page: SMM3Gun Contacts A2Chic

  13. Regarding a complaint about the prize table: Q: I shot the match this year (2005) and loved it. I shot in Tactical Iron, I wanted to know is this year will there be a prize table for the Iron class. I didn't think it was fair to have the same prize table for scoped and non scope rifle competitors (or this could be Heavy Metal Pump vs. Heavy Metal Auto)? A: The Tactical points system (and also Heavy Metal) is set up dependant upon whether you're shooting a rifle or not (or shotgun or not) - so the complaint about shooting against the scoped guys (auto vs. pump) is not valid. The top guy (lowest time) in Tactical Iron (or Heavy Metal - Pump) will be awarded 100 points. The top guy (lowest time) in Tactical Scoped (or Heavy Metal - Auto) will be awarded 100 points - on the same stage. When the match is totaled, points are taken from different columns on my spread sheet dependant upon which division you have opted to shoot. If you need further clarification, please let me know. 14. I will accept all applications post marked on or AFTER December 1st. If anyone sends in their application before then, I will return it (this would be a bad thing ). There is no deadline to send in your application. There will be a waiting list - this will NOT be any sort of lottery. If you haven't heard from your shooting buddies, last year we "sold-out" in 17 days and then started a waiting list. If you are planning on sending your app to me via overnight courier, I would suggest that you opt out of acquiring a signature. This will delay the delivery of your app and you might find yourself on the waiting list. If you need any more clarification... email me - or talk with anyone that shot the match last year. A2Chic rlamarca@cox.net ARE YOU READY!?!?! ... Stand by... - MAIL IN YOUR APP!! (after Dec. 1)

  18. Six days... We opened the match on August 1st (post-mark date) - no mail received on that day, but on the 7th we were full. The match is running smoothly... Stage 2 is running a little behind, but the rest is good. No rain... lots of thinking stages. Hope everyone is enjoying the match. Preliminary results are posted on the USPSA Main web pages. Time for a beer ;-) A2Chic
  19. Squadding is done if anyone would like to know when you're shooting. I prefer not to publicly post this info for privacy. Send an email and I will reply as soon as I can. A2Chic rlamarca@cox.net
  20. racegun... No, you shouldn't do that. It would not hardly be fair to the twelve guys still on the waiting list. A2Chic
