  1. I'm new to the game, but something I would rather see is getting rid of L-10 and making it L-20 with no magazine length limit. That way current S_I guys keep their high capacity and guys with CZ's, Beretta's, and Sig's get a more fair playing field. I shoot a CZ75 with extended mag bases and have 15+1 rounds at 140mm. For a 32 round course of fire, I have to reload 3 times, whereas a S_I guy only has to reload twice. To play competitively in Limited wouldn't cost that much more than Production.
  2. Just a guess, but according to this link, the Standard IPSC had some issues with the slide cracking. The renaming of the gun may have been a way to differentiate between old style slides and new ones??? http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=7355.msg10349#msg10349
  3. When you say softer, I am assuming you mean lead. Tumbling lead bullets usually means they don't fit the barrel. If you are shooting lead, slug your barrel, measure with a caliper, and add .001-.002 in diameter for what you want to shoot. If you switch between jacketed and lead, you want to make sure you clean the barrel down to the steel inbetween. Also, if you bought .356 bullets, measure them anyway. Just because the box says .356 doesn't mean they are.
  4. Omega Custom Grips (named way before the omega trigger came out) can probably make you some. http://www.czgrips.us/ . Let him know you have an Omega Trigger gun and what you found out for Angus. He can probably make you a custom set, and is a really nice guy to email with.

  6. If I was still working at home, I wouldn't mind. I know they do run an all classifiers match, however I am working in the oil field and will for sure miss this month's match. I may only be able to attend a match every other month or so.
  7. Thanks for the help, guys. I will send an email to the club and see if I can get it submitted as a classifier correction. I appreciate all the help! James
  8. Hello. I shot my first match on December 10th and shot a classifier, then joined the USPSA on the 13th. Is there any way to tie my match classifier in now that I have a member number? When I click on classifier results, it shows no classifiers at all for me. I am really curious how my first match went, classification wise. I'm number 3 on the classifier results. James
  9. I remember when you could get a brick (before value packs came out) for $8.00...and I'm only 31.
  10. Push harder! Haha. They were tight on my AFC's, too. I have 3 AFC mags with some of the first extended pads on them, and one new one with the CZ Custom mark on it. That one was the tightest, but did go on.
  11. Yes, it will fit perfectly. All CZ factory mags are made by Mecgar, so any part that fits a factory magazine will also fit a Mecgar mag.
  12. I only have experience with the Racemaster. I can tell you that the location of the lock is just about perfect. I ran my first match this past weekend and started every stage with the gun locked in the holster. The switch is in the perfect location to hit on the draw, and the gun is rock solid in the belt with the lock engaged. There was a young shooter at the same match who got a rope caught between his gun and holster at the match. The gun hit the ground (luckily didn't go off) and he got DQ'd. That wouldn't have happened with the Racemaster.
  13. Stuart, Any pictures, by chance, of the modified Bolen follower? You trimmed down the STI follower, correct? Did you use the follower with the CZ Custom mag extensions? Those are the basepads I am using and I was curious if there were any issues with the follower once it got down below the mag tube. I know they mention that this can be an issue with some magazines. Are you planning on trying the Glock Grams springs?
  14. Hi, What specific points of the CZ-75 grip do you think are worth applying some tape? Any suggestion of a pack with tape grips for a CZ-75? Regards, Demetrio. Like Burningsquirrels said, front and rear of the backstrap and grip. I also use 3M Safety Walk.
  15. Another Race Master user here. The SP01 model can be fitted to the TS and 75B as well.
  16. WOW! Last year we get the CZechmate, then we get news that CZ has stolen Tom Knapp from Benelli, but now that the 2011 catalog is online...some amazing shockers. Dan Wesson Steel Frame double stack 1911's, including a 6" .40, 21 round 10mm, and a compensated C-More mounted 9mm/38 Super. Most important of all though...THE RETURN DAN WESSON REVOLVERS! Check out page 20/21. http://cz-usa.com/assets/files/CZ-USA_2011_Product_Catalog.pdf
  17. I've just about got my CZ ready to shoot L10. I converted my 75B .40 so SA, 13 lb mainspring, extended firing pin, flat aluminum trigger, magwell, mag extensions, comp hammer, tactical rear sight, aluminum grips...the works. One thing that I haven't changed yet is the recoil spring. I am only shooting loads right at major powerfactor... nothing hotter nothing lighter. This is a range/competition gun only, not a self defense gun. What would be the best recoil spring weight for these loads? I am currently using the factory helical spring, which seems a little on the heavy side. Thanks!
  18. I don't have experience with the new Bodyguard 38, but I do have experience getting the side of my thumb cut up shooting a Model 36. This is something that has been alleviated on the new Bodyguard, as the cylinder latch has been relocated to the top of the frame. Should be a 100% improvement over the old style. When the LCR came out, I thought it was the worst thing on the face of the earth. A Glocked Revolver!?! Sacrilegious!!! (Plus the only guns Ruger manufactures that AREN'T ugly are single action) But when looking over the .38 Bodyguard, alot of the new design aspects make alot of sense. The laser is mounted inline with the bore, instead of down by the trigger guard. Check out Youtube and do a search of any model you are looking at. There are hundreds of review vids.
  19. EFK Firedragon makes a extended and threaded barrel for the SP-01. I don't know if the threads are the same pitch or not, but $225 for a EFK barrel and $245 for a comp plus an SP-01 makes for a pretty darn cheap Open gun. Probably much more reliable and less tuning than a S_I gun. http://www.efkfiredragon.com/products.php?cat=1483
  20. I also run dry. Never seen the need for putting something in that could attract and hold dirt and dust. Clean them whenever I feel the need (which isn't very often).
  21. Thanks for being my guinea pig, Gorilla! Now I know which ones I need to get. Thanks! James These fixed the problem! Thank you sir!
  22. After a 200 round barrel break in with jacketed, all I shoot now is cast in my 75B .40. I have had good luck with both air cooled and water quenched wheel weights. Titegroup works for some, others claim major leading and smoke. Titegroup builds pressure fast and can make softer bullets skid instead of bite. I think you need to worry more about your lube than powder for smoke. Are you using a lubrisizer or liquid? If you are planning on lubing with Lee Liquid Alox...plan on smoke. If you don't have access to a lubrisizer, try tumble lubing with Johnson's Paste Wax available at the hardware store. It works just as well as alox but with significantly less smoke. If you have access to a lubrisizer, you will have best results with Lars Carnuba Red. It is one of the best lubes on the market. It is available here: http://www.lsstuff.com/lube/ Match your hardness and lube to your velocity, but as always, fit is king. Make sure the bullet is .001-.002" bigger than bore and you will be good to go.
  23. Do you by chance have a part number on your mag springs? I am almost positive that CZ Custom's springs are Wolf. According to their sight, they offer a +5 and +10 spring for clones, which are equivalent to +10 and +15 in the CZ. You can check the part number on Wolf's sight. Maybe the +15 will keep it open. I noticed the same issue last Friday with AFC 13 rounders with the CZ Custom extensions. I am only running the factory springs at this moment. http://www.gunsprings.com/Semi-Auto%20Pistols/CZ/75%20Series/cID1/mID16/dID91
