  1. The reason he made master in all those is because he made GM in L10

(this post makes a lot less sense in the merged thread) :roflol:

(ETA: this note is not to take away the skill it takes to be a master in all those divisions. It is to point out that the achievement is even greater than represented by "M" because they come from getting GM.)

    Hope that clarifies;)

  2. Hello, My name is Steve and like XDs.blush.gif

I have 2, carry one, use one for production and alternate with one in IDPA with a 40 SS.

My problem with IDPA is simply that it is classified ESP. My 40 SS is in the same class. Go figure. You get over it after awhile but it doesn't make too much sense.

Heavier slide/high bore axis = more muzzle flip according to the detractors. Still, lots of folks shoot them in USPSA/IDPA and do REALLY well. So it's just a matter of preference.

  3. 2 weeks ago, my wife was attacked by some wasps who had built a nest under the back porch. Got about 4 stings. I crawled under the porch and sprayed the nest and that was that. (The fact that I had been putting it off for about a month notwithstanding)

It seems they are not easily deterred.

After a relatively busy day, and a hectic dinner with my wife, 7 and 9 year old daughters, and 1 new Yorkie/Maltese puppy tormenting our "good" dog, we were looking forward to sitting out back by the pool and relaxing. So we hypnotized the girls with the TV (Disney channel) and wandered outside.

As I got 2 glasses of wine we went to sit down on the wooden lounge chairs by the pool, wondering how long it would take for the other house occupants to find us, I looked at the side of my chair, even with my ankles and saw about 8 wasps. I started making a witty comment about it but before I could begin, the attack began. Both ankles and my back, I threw wine all over my wife ("Hey!") and ran into the driveway with a million stinging insects all over me. At least 10 stings, both ankles, and back (lower back.. upper thigh region...).

Having lost the battle but unwilling to concede the geography, I went back with the wasp spray -- One plug here: Thumbs up for the EcoSmart Organic Wasp and Hornet Killer -- safe for Children and Pets: GREAT STUFF!

After the 8-10 wasps had regrouped (I don't even think I ever killed the ones stinging me - just drove them back) I sprayed them on the chair. Dead.

On a not-so-intuitive hunch, I figured out the reason for the seemingly unprovoked attack. I lifted the chair and looked underneath.

    Nest.jpg

Total body count - 25 wasps. They must have relocated from the porch. The stings are fading now - and I've learned to move faster when I see a bunch of wasps in a group. Next time I won't be so careless. They built the nest over 2 days (Monday one of my daughter's friends was in that same chair). All I could think of was thank God it was me and not the kids or the dogs or even my wife again.

    This means war.

  4. I'll try this one more time.

This part of 9.1.4 does not mention determining an accurate score. It specifically requires that which hits were made by the current competitor be determined, or it's a reshoot.

If there are extra scoring hits or questionable penalty hits thereon, and it is not obvious which hits were made by the competitor being scored, the affected competitor must be ordered to reshoot the course of fire.

With this in mind, my question:

Does it mean that if there are 3 A hits (current competitor shot only twice at target), and they're all .40 with identical holes, that it's a reshoot because it's not obvious who made which hits? If not, how do you get around the part of 9.1.4 that I quoted?

Because it wouldn't matter of there was 2 or 20 holes in the target since all of them are As it makes no difference. He/she gets two Alpha and you move on.

What if the current competitor got alpha mike and the last competitor got 2A? If targets are unrestored, the rule reads, in it's simplest form, if the RO can determine the accurate score, no reshoot is required. If there is any question, it's a reshoot. If there are 3 holes, and it is clear that the targets were unrestored, and the shooter engaged the target twice, the RO will have to judge whether he knows that it is 2 alphas or alpha mike. If he doesn't know, RESHOOT. If he knows, he can score.

    That's how I read it.

  5. OK: After reading Brian's last post, I

    1) Set my settings as specified.

    2) Deleted cookies

    3) logged in again

    4) Clicked VNC. As expected, 1000 or so (posts made that I have never read - since I never "mark board as read" and have been relying on "since my last login" on VNC.

    5) Marked board as read.

    6) Waited and did other stuff

    7) Logged in. VNC. Got 2 pages. Good stuff so far. Read a few, skipped a bunch, made a post or two.

Wanted to check the skipped ones - and anything that came up after I last looked. I do that usually before logging out to see if anything was posted while I was reading/posting.

So I clicked "VNC" again. Now no new posts.

What happened to all the ones from the first time that I didn't read, or that were posted while I was reading/posting?

Hope that makes sense. Don't know if that's a bug or if that's how it works with changing the setting.

  6. Does "factory ammo" make the specified power factor (115 to 125)? I suspect not. I believe that most factory 9mm shot thru anything bigger than a mouse gun goes well above 130PF.

Seems senseless to calibrate with a gun/ammo combination which is very probably above the standard and has not been calibrated per the procedures.

A common problem with many (most?) Level I matches. The only way to do it is with a known combination. Lacking that, you're just making mush. Season and stir to taste.

    Yeah, good point.

  7. I can expand the screen just fine with my iPod Touch. After hitting the 'Full Version' tag then refresh, I got the drop down menu that lets me select from the two available skins. IP.DEFAULT and IP.MOBILE

I selected the default and hit the GO button and my iTouch works the same way as it did before.

Where is the 'full version' tag? I don't see it for some reason.

Nevermind: Found it in the other thread cheers.gif

    GTG.

  8. I had the same problem with my iphone. I turned off Javascript and it allowed me to sign in, access messenger, etc. It's still in the "mobile" mode and doesn't work great, but that at least allowed me to get PMs and see new posts.

Settings --> Safari --> JavaScript (toggle to off).

I don't know what JavaScript is but this seems to work. I got this idea off the Droid phone thread somewhere.
