  1. What a shame. Indy cars are surprisingly safe when they roll and disintegrate but when they hit something straight on the deceleration is too fast.

RIP and prayers to his 2 year old son/young family

  2. Do you think it is because your phone has been jailbroken or because the 3GS can't handle the iO5 upgrade?

I had a Terrible time with an iPhone 3 and iO4 upgrade. Slowed the whole thing down to useless. They fixed it with the 4.01 upgrade but I had already bought the IPhone4

  3. I'm building a 16 inch AR with a Loki XL carbon fiber handguard. Sturdy, very light. I'll post a pic in a little while. Price was right too, and excellent customer service from Loki's CEO Erik Davis.

    ETA: Lousy iphone pic here.

  4. Zero 180 JHP bullets (alone) won't fall through my EGW gauge. They fall through my dillon gauge. I use the EGW but I just know the rounds at 1.185 hit right at the extractor groove and are fine in my barrel.

When I use my dillon gauge sometimes a case passes that gets stuck in my barrel.

  5. So OP:

Did you get what you are looking for?

You have an opinion on your legal obligations, and an opInion on what many folks here would do to assuage their consciences and avoid the appearance of "ripping someone off" even though it was unintended.

That's why it's so smooth to so transactions with BE forum members. Most would bend over backwards to give you a fair deal.

I had a similar experience, traded a perfectly functioning CED 8000 away and it puked a month later. I felt like crap, buyer definitely felt he did not get value and I felt like I had ripped him off even though I didn't do anything wrong. I offered to take it back. He shipped to CED, they repaired and I split the cost 50/50. I think that was fair but who knows? I wish it hadn't happened and I feel for you and your buyer.

The good news is that once the dust settles, if they like the gun, everyone will be happy.

  6. Yep, I just did the top 16 because of my placement. Had nothing to do with the previous threads about guns of the top 16. Just for purely selfish reasons. I was acutally thinking about doing a Guns of the Top 17 for the Limited 10 match. That number just seemed right.

This thread would have read the same if I'd finished 8th or 24th. Overall placement awards are given out to the top 16. After that it's class or category awards.

Ok serious guy then I rescind my

  7. I agree with all these points. All these situations where competitors can get bumped into open have nothing to do with the sport. If there is no intent to use a mag from a front pocket after the start signal, or a single bullet from a shirt pocket after ULSC and no advantage gained by loading from a Barney mag off the clock -- and yet you can have a magazine in your hand at make ready but not at the start signal..

Then it's clear that all these illegal scenarios that are being described ought not be illegal. They are simply from a literal reading of a rule that makes illegal simple logical things that are done to load and unload a firearm off the clock which does not confer any advantage. When rules defy logic and have unintended consequences that cause people to be moved to a different division for innocuous actions that do not affect the game, the rules ought to be considered to be clarified to match their true intent, which most would agree is to keep SS and prod competitor's reloads from a standardized equipment position after the start signal.

  8. This is clearly an unintended consequence that could be cleared up by adding "at (or after) the start signal"

So it is OK to walk up to the line with your Barney mag in your HAND but not in your front pocket at make ready...

Yeah, you can keep your Barney mag out of your front pocket -- but why not just fix the rule with the next revision?
