Noncompete clauses are common in medical practices and are enforceable in most areas as long as they are reasonable in area and duration. However, they are signed at the time of employment, which makes the issue a matter of contract law.
If it is being given out to current employees, I am less sure, but my gut tells me that 1) there is no obligation to sign it but 2) the employer may terminate employees in some states without cause. If you're fired for not signing it, you need to prove that's why you were fired. The employer could say, "his services were no longer required."
I also am not a lawyer, but am very opinionated.

Having experienced tremors myself, and consulting my doctor. He put me on a Beta Blocker.Within five or six hours I had complete turn around. My shooting has improved alot.No side effects really noticed.
And I can vouch for that after shooting with Shaky Dave at the TN sectional... No sign of a tremor there! (Except when he dumped 100 rounds of ammo in the mud (well, I MIGHT have bumped him ...)
sorry for the drift. Just a fun memory.

This is not the exact scenerio but I've found that Inderal (propranolol) has helped in the past if I've been too jittery for microsurgery. It does tend to make you slightly drowsier (more of a problem for shooting) but pretty sure that effect wears off. I haven't used it in awhile and there may be other meds that do the same thing with less side effects
now this is for everyday jits when working with tiny movements, not a diagnoseable tremor, but the principles are the same.

As a left handed shooter, I've gotten into the habit of showing clear on my right side, so on the rare occasion that an RO DOES stand over my left shoulder, we play a little game of switching sides back and forth until I can get RO and clear handgun on the same side.

I was given about 4000 FC marked headstamp nickel casings that have been swagged so I guess they would be twice fired should I load and shoot or discard it will be for 9mm minor.
Load and shoot. If you look them up on the forum you'll see folks throw them out. I've shot 5000 for 40 minor with no problem and about 500 for 40 major. I think like every other brass, look for cracks and defects.
My disclaimer is that I am not a metallurgy expert (or alchemy for that matter, which would be much more useful) I'm just giving you a recommendation based on my own experience.

I revived this thread to add that the size of the E-clip is 5/16" in case anyone needs to go to Lowe's/Home Depot and forgets to bring a broken one...
ETA: 1/4 (as I saw in other threads) also works, but mine measured 5/16. I guess close enough...?

all that is left to do is the scores...
I'll pass...
Lots of fun, though. Excellent match!

Patience is your friend. Common sense rules. If it hurts to do "this" then don't do "this". 80 to 90 percent documented resolution within 8-10 months regardless of treatment.

And just where were you?
Heard Mike was gonna be there.

Gary,
I shot an Area 5 match a few years ago at Silver Creek..................Went well and would not hesitate to return.....................Might even be a RO for you as well !
Hop
Yeah, Silver Creek is sort of what I was thinking, too

I know Corey has been chomping at the bit to put on his MD britches!
You must REALLY want his head to explode. As you know, he gets no help with anything around here so he'd be doing the whole thing himself....
In all seriousness, that would be GREAT to have it further south...

Well I backed the COAL out to 1.135" and 30rds ran like champs. Seems like that was just the ticket for those TC bullets. Much thx to all those who replied with advice. I'm gonna run 100 or so to make sure it wasn't a fluke.
Good deal. Now go shoot!

I have mid. Love 'em.

Holstering during the COF (Between the Make Ready and Range is Clear commands) is allowed, but discouraged. Holstering specifically is permitted as long as it is in the ready conditions specified in 8.1 or unloaded (8.2.5).
If it was holstered during the COF with a round in the chamber or magazine and safety off, then DQ. (10.5.11)
The rules on this are clear and depend on the condition of the holstered firearm.

Although I can't explain why it won't feed the reloads that are the same OAL as your factory (though 1.112 seems short. I figured they'd be closer to 1.120) you might try going longer. see how it feeds 1.135. Might save you some gunsmithing/feedramp work
(edit: just re-read original post that you are doing just that. I bet it helps.

Is the safety on a Nova switchable for left handers like a M1/M2? I have 2 M1/M2s and did the very easy mod mod myself...
(I don't want a "left handed" Nova if there is such a thing)
jj
Funny you should ask.
Fomeister and I just did this to my new Nova last week. You need to take out the trigger group, and then simply hammer the safety out one way and reverse it. Before you reverse it, you need to push down the detent and spring which lives just underneath the safety while looking down into the trigger group. I forget which way we hammered it out. Firm taps, nylon drift. It takes a little bit of tapping, more so than the M2 which if I recall didn't require any force.
I know for next time, you don't need to take the entire thing apart....
but if you DO, there is a handy-dandy diagram in the operators manual. Educational 1/2 hour.

So you dont feel the weight of the guide rod will help at all?
It might. Hard to say b/c recoil is pretty subjective. I guess if you have a really good reason to shoot .40, then it's worth a try. My only point is if you don't like it, find something that you do like: No sense torturing yourself trying to fit a square peg in a round hole if there's something you like shooting better.

Hello all. New to the forums here. I recently bought a new XDM .40 (hubby talked me into the .40). Had Springer do the trigger, plus some new sights and well.... first few shots I take are great, the rest are downhill. The recoil is getting me. I was told by some to put in a Tungsten guide rod and a 16# spring. Is this really going to make a difference or should I scratch it all and just get a new 9mm?? Also shooting factory ammo, cant find any handloads. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this to theirs and is it even worth it. Thank you.
the 40 round can have a bit of a snappy recoil, and if the XDM is like the XD, then the weight of the slide can make it seem snappier. Before you put any more money into the gun you should make sure your technique is sound. Grip and stance can make a huge difference. You may get used to it over time. If you simply don't like the 40 then you should borrow a 9mm and see if you like it better before modifying the 40. In my experience the lighter recoil spring enhances the "snap" somewhat and heavier dampens it, anyway.
And finally, don't shoot anyone else's handloads. If you didn't do it yourself, you don't know what's in them.
